It's called fanwank. Those are nods to the game and book. They're trying to work more connections between the two eras. We've seen this already with Fall of Cyebrtron and Exiles, and with the "One Shall Rise" three-parter. But that doesn't mean much. It was a "War for Cybertron" and there was an "exodus" from Cybertron. In this continuity, in G1 continuity, in WFC continuity, in Movie Continuity, etc, etc. Not much other words you can use to describe it as well as the words that actually describe it.
