No, no, no, no, no. Not even. That title belongs to either Generation One Wheelie or Revenge of the Fallen Skids and Mudflap.

As far as the characters mentalities go, I agree. But when it comes to pure hideousness, windblades geisha aesthetics take the cake. The twins are very close though. G1 wheelie looks normal until he opens his mouth. I was really referring to visual aesthetics more than character personality with my jar jar comment. Its like her neck threw up a lightbulb smeared with clown paint.

Glad you like, it was a part of why I even bought them! Somebody on the review thread at TFW posted it first, so it's not my idea.
I don't think I posted it in that thread, I'll go do it now.

EDIT: Posted. And OCProwl is who originally came up with it.

I really liked your statement comparing to third parties. I am too very impressed by Hasbro's design in comparison to the 3rd party versions (in terms of what you are getting for the money spent). The Hasbro stuff feels more like homages to the G1 toys instead of reinventions of the characters, which is something I have become far more fond of as I discover the G1 aesthetic.

And I knew about the focus on MP scale, but I didnt know that 3rd party figures focused on legends scale too, which ones?

easiest way for me to show you is to just link and steal pics from BBTS.

theres DX9 "war in pocket", so far theyve done (2-packs) ironhide/blur, and ratchet/scourge.

http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=DX10005&mode=retail
Image

ironfactory made a 2-pack for generations metroplex, sixgun and slammer. also check [url=http://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/viewtopic.php?f=215&t=100565
]this thread[/url] for their new blaster/steeljaw/ramhorn proto's.

ark studio has made the datsun trio (though personally i find them "meh" and expensive).

then theres guilty. theyre making an UM, and rumble/frenzy. check these threads.

Hey its pretty cool were taking this thread to the 3rd parties. Staying on topic I think the best third party figure of 2014 is the complete Feral Rex. Honorable mentions go to Mania King and Fansproject Columpio/Cubrar. What are everybody elses 3rd party picks for 2014 ?

Actually we're not. You're more than welcome to take any discussion about 3rd Party Figures to the 3rd party forum.

I was under the assumption the "topic" was 2014....

You do see the news staff member above taking an interest in some 3rd party stuff ?

The staff really needs to get on the same page about what we can and cant discuss on the front page comments. Were not posting news stories, were just chatting as fans. >:oP

As always, all third party figures, unless very briefly, in passing and with a redirection to its appropriate section, should be discussed in the Third Party section as Burn has been pointing out for a while now.

The TFSource article may very well be used as a discussion starter, but all non-official product should be contained within its own section - you all know this is how Seibertron.com runs, has done for a while, and will do until you see a post from the site owner and admins (not any staff member - trust us, it'll be Seibertron to announce it if it ever happens) that contradicts the current situation. ;)

I really feel Hasbro and Takara should be commended for this year and for some reason, I feel we don't see this year as being as awesome as it truly was. It was easily their best anniversary year when looking at the content. The Thrilling 30 limited figures line might not have been the great thing it was thought to be but this 30th anniversary was AMAZING. And I would love to make a rundown of just how great a year it truly was.

Firstly, we got great updates on G1 Toys Like Jetfire, who was also the first Leader Class generations figure. I never thought I would own a macross inspired TF for 30$ (walmart).

Image
Transformers Generations Jetfire Gallery

And it was not just the characters that appeared on the show but we also got updates on toy only characters. And not the ones that appeared just in the comics either (like Whirl). I mean Scoop, who even came with some Target Masters. Did you ever think you would get an update on Scoop? Whenever we think Hasbro is playing it safe, I look back on Scoop and just how amazingly odd and risky this was. And he is a straight up update, being as faithful to the original as possible, simply giving it better articulation.

Image
Transformers Generations Scoop Gallery

And an even odder but even more awesome choice, is Crosscut, who is a straight up homage to the Diaclone toy which Skids was chosen over for original American release under the Transformers brand. Check out that awesome headsculpt!

Image
Transformers Generations Crosscut Gallery

We even got the first mass released Headmaster in a loooooooooong time. He even homaged the tech spec gimmick.

Image

But moving on, this was the BEST year for Beast Wars fans since 2005. We got Rhinox, Waspinator and Rattrap, all great upgrades which are beautifully show accurate. I am stil not over the included maximal symbols on Rhinox's head. These were like mini masterpieces.

Image
Transformers Generations Rattrap Gallery

And we even got a straight up Beast Machines toy, which is finally show accurate.

Image
Transformers Generations Tankor Gallery

So, G1, Headmasters, Beast Wars, Beast Machines, what next? RID of course. It's an awesome line that I feel gets ignored since it's right between the popular beast wars series and the transformer revival through the Unicron Trilogy. But in this 30th anniversary, it was not ignored. Skybyte finally got his own mold for the first time ever instead of being a redeco. And not only that, but they found a way to make his shark head his actual chest (hence why I preffer the Legends deco over the generations one)

Image

Speaking of Unicron Trlogy, we got Armada toys too, such as brand new minicons and Starscream!

Image
Transformers Generations Armada Starscream Gallery

And for the 30th anniversary, Hasbro let us choose a new transformer, which we did. Regardless of the result, I am still impressed they went through with this. And it's a pretty killer robot mode.

Image
Transformers Generations Windblade Gallery

And in my opinion, this year gave us the best movie toyline. I am not fond of movie designs in general due to their more alien look. But this year, they gave us more streamlined designs, with clean panels instead of overly jagged and armoured surfaces. I am mostly referring to Evasion Mode Optimus Prime, which is an amazing feat of engineering, as it's alt mode is a pure homage to G1.

Image

Oh and we also got an update on ALL dinobots!

Image

And for those that think G1 is the best, then hey why not a reissue of the best Grimlock ever!

Image

And if no one is convinced yet at how great this year was to us TF fans, we finally got a G1 Arcee and Hasbro finally got the volkswagon license to finally give us a G1 show accurate Bumblebee.

Image

Image

Looking back, in terms of homage, diversity and love for the brand, this year was amazing! If anyone has a better year in mind regarding the past 10 years, let me know.

Now that I have had MP Ultra Magnus in hand, (which didn't ship until after the deadline for the Year in review write ups) My vote goes to him for Transformer of the year. To me he is perfect in every way.

I am also excited to see what that Leader class UM rumored is about. Perhaps we will see him at Toy Fair.

Would be a wonderful thing if it does happen. After snagging Arcee (who, like A32, would've totally snagged "Generations Figure of the Year" had it not been for pesky deadlines), I am one step closer to completing the 1986 animated film team, and Magnus would be the grand finale.
They call me “Tanker Chungus”!

Also, funny how to illustrate the butt flap, you are showing me pics of Uranus ;)

It is a bit creepy when they start getting that touchy about the comments. I don't think anybody is guilty of derailing the thread. The news crew member asked a question and you answered him. You shouldn't have even apologized. The topic is 2014. It's not your fault some people still believe the hobby is confined to only one company.

ENOUGH!

Just to be clear i have a soft spot for Ultra Magnus. When I was a young children, I traded a kid in the next neigborhood over that I didn't know 4 Silver Hawks for UM. My mom got very mad a me because in her eyes I traded 4 toys for 1 but UM was big quickly became my favorite toy of my childhood.
