Did not know... :-? That raises my hopes somewhat, thank you. I keep forgetting Generations can run concurrent to other lines, so it's theoretically possible to see movie toys AND Generation toys come May. :-? But the last movie saw the complete obliteration of all other toy lines, so therein lie my doubts. It'd be nice to see Hasbro take the movie with more humility and subtlety, and not completely blow off all other facets of the brand! :-x

Mindmaster wrote:At least we aren't getting Bumblebees of all shapes and sizes. It appears Grimlock's taken that role. Which, oddly, I don't mind as much. Probably because I'm just glad to see less of Bumblebee-palooza. >:oP

I'm gonna be the Negative Nancy here: BB has at least 2 car forms in the next movie, so don't expect the fetish to have passed.
But like you said, it'd be nice to see Hasbro spam a different character for a change... and I can't imagine getting sick of a robot dinosaur... but Hasbro does have an amazing ability to defy expectations, doesn't it?

T-Macksimus wrote:The ONLY thing that this list confirms is that fans are eagerly, entirely willing to go bat-shit crazy over even just the smallest hint of a whisper of an unconfirmed rumor.

The only thing that made arch an eyebrow even the slightest was the listing for Generations Deluxe class Arcee and then common sense kicked in and told me that Hasbro will once again F*** this up the same as every other Arcee the fandom has asked them for over the years.

Not meaning to sound negative, just being practical. It is utterly pointless to get excited over a single thing on this list. All it does is set you up for disappointment, or in the case of those of us who have actually been with the franchise since day one, it will bore you to death with the sheer predictability.

:APPLAUSE: Yes. +1.
The inevitable disappointment can be soul-crushing, especially to the older fans who give a f*ck about G1 stuff (cue a douche to remind us to "move on" or "quit livin' in the past, bro").
What "sheer predictability" are you on about, though? I guess I'm not following the obvious? :???:

xyl360 wrote:They've seen the 3rd party offerings, just as they had with Springer, and just as they did with Springer, I think they're going to kill it with a Generations Arcee figure assuming that this list is valid.

I hope you're on the money, bro... but experience has shown me plenty a blunder by your beloved Hasbro. They haven't quite "killed" much in the 3rd Party scene (other than your stated Springer).
Take the Sharkticons, for example. If by love of God they bring them back, we get what? Crappy Legend scale? And is that Legion-Legend? Or Cyberverse-Commander-Legend-with-transforming-mini-weapon? It'll most likely be cheap and crappy (a la Abominus set), and 3rd Party is already offering 2 promising alternatives.
The irony of all of this is that Hasbro cares more about non-fan, young kids than the longtime fans. #-o Ehhh, I'm just pointing out that we're an afterthought; it's hard to imagine Hasbro taking on the 3rd Party threat seriously when they could focus on making another iteration of Optimus and BB. :HEADHURTS: Kids are the future, adults are the past! ;) Let's focus on movie toys for tweens!

Here are a few of the things I am wondering about .
I wonder if the Leader Jetfire :BOT: is based on his G1 or IDW ??
What Meagtron :CON: is it going to be ??
Generations Deluxe Arcee :BOT: ,Generations Deluxe Chromia :BOT: ,could it be ,after all these years ?
Jhiaxus :G2CON: = Awesome .
I will have to get the Gnaw :CON: .
If the Voyager Roadbuster :BOT: is like the Whirl :BOT: I will be in heaven ....hopefully just figuratively.
Leader Grimlock :BOT: ...Yes  ,unless he is that semi-truck seen on set ,and he becomes a robotic Dinosaur ,like that Dread in DOTM .
Will Galvatron :CON: be Megatron :CON: or someone new ??? I hoping for the latter .
Some odd names for the Deluxe Class :-?
and the one thing ,the only thing I busted a bolt for .................
SKY-BYTE ....I love RID and I love HIM .Please Hasbro  do him justice . I still have my figure from 2001 ,but a new version would be intriguing .

If the toy/comics uniformity continues steadily, I imagine Arcee looking something like this:

Don't forget that there are a LOT of repeated listings for the same figures, rather than each and every listing being its own figure.

Also, all the "Titan" stuff refers to PVC figurines (like the SDCC Titan Guardians were) rather than more Metroplex-sized toys.

Very interesting list of upcoming figures. I think I'm interested in way too many of them. Also, now that we're getting Armada Starscream and Sky-Byte, how long will it be until we get Energon Scorponok! :)

As soon as he's brought back from the dead in that form in the comics, as Starscream and Sky-Byte get toys since they're regulars in the comics. ;)

...

But Armada Starscream is in the comics, or is it just Starscream in general? I remember seeing something about Sky-Byte (and just searched him up, pretty nice update to his original design). I don't suppose Rhinox is in the comics too, is he? And isn't G1 Scorponok still around in the comics? Leader G1 Scorponok would probably be the best thing ever (though I think I prefer Energon Scorponok's head, overall design is a toss up). Oh well, either way, I'm sure he'll get made one day.

All/most the new toys coming out in Generations tie into Dark Cybertron. Starscream is in his Armada body, Bumblebee is in his Goldfire body, Waspinator and Rattrap are there, Rhinox has been mentioned by Clint Chapman as being in Dark Cybertron, etc. etc.

And Scorponok has been gone since "Maximum Dinobots" (looking things up, I misremembered him being "killed", as he was only brutalized but taken into custody by Ultra Magnus, never seen again since).

I wish Brainstorm was a Headmaster. That would be cool to bring them back. Probably just me wishing this...

Also, regarding the Dinobots from AOE: Anyone notice that "Swoop" is not among the list?

For Slag, it's because the word "slag" is a slur word in Britain, meaning something like "whore". That's why he was named "Slug" in Fall of Cybertron.

For Sludge, who knows. Maybe they lost the rights to the name or something.

These sound very promising. I almost feel like Hasbro is trying to make an active move to compete with the third party figures with guys like roadbuster, arcee, jhiaxus too... Good if they are.

 "my beloved Hasbro", that's a laugh :P. There's a reason I usually buy Takara, not Hasbro.

But my point is, if you look at the Generations line right now, specifically the "Thrilling 30", it's all about celebrating the fans and the origins/past of the brand, which is pretty far off from us being an afterthought since I'm pretty sure the kids of today were not alive 30 years ago ;). Hasbro focuses on the kids plenty with Rescue Bots, TF:Prime, the upcoming movie etc. but Generations has always been and likely will continue to be a more adult oriented line full of homages to and versions of characters from the past which have little to no relevance to the kids.

What if the Leader Class Megatron were Beast Wars Megatron?

And finally a new, hopefully unique Jhiaxus. But again he's a deluxe. As nice as a Voyager Brainstorm sounds, I would've rather had Voyager Jhiaxus unless the IDW one, assuming that's what he is, is a smaller character. Anyway, if these are legit, they're all welcomed.

HOO BOY!!!

If you guys thought the front page news had a lot of stuff, things just a whole lot more exciting! User Monzo of Allspark.com did an even more thorough digging through the Hasbro customer service database than the folks at TFW did, and created an even bigger list of items that were listed in the database before Hasbro took them down.

Definitely true about Slug. That, and character wise, the name Slug just fits him more.
As for "Slash", I was under the impression that it could possibly be a new Dinobot entirely.

So when is the next Toy Show that these are likely to appear so we can see the products and pass judgement then? That's when I'll decide to either purchase the Hasbro version or start saving up for a 3rd Party release of the figure.

Which, by the way, with all the success and approval of their last two Triple-Changer Voyagers, Springer and Blitzwing, I still don't see a listing for Generations Voyager Broadside, so I'll go ahead and order those Broadside labels from www.Reprolabels.com for my FansProject's version of Broadside. Also no listing for Astrotrain or Octane revamped/remade into Voyager size so they work well with the two previously mentioned. Guess I'll have to stick with my Deluxe size versions.

We'll probably be denied yet again with Generations Voyager Brainstorm not being a Headmaster and will have to rely on a true Headmaster Brainstorm to be created by FansProject or ToyWorld.

Generations Deluxe Arcee and Chromia as cars would be wonderful and depending on how great they look will decide if I invest in MasterMind Creations' versions due out next year. But this is HasTak and they'll likely be motorcycles (they've been motorcycled to death) and we'll once again be disappointed.

Considering Generations Hardhead is going to be a Deluxe instead of a Voyager as his counterpart Brainstorm is (and also not looking like he's a Headmaster either), I'm betting he's a green repaint of Warpath. Anyone else like the idea that Generations Warpath had all those places to clip on additional weapons but not the fact that HasTak didn't pack any of those said additional weapons in with the figure (or anywhere for that matter) to clip to those places? Brilliance!

Generations Legends Gears was a given because of Generations Legends Swerve while Generations Legends Cliffjumper was also a given because of Generations Legends Bumblebee. Ironic how the original Swerve was a repaint of the original Gears. I would've thought HasTak would've taken their upcoming release of Generations Legends Tailgate and repainted it into a Generations Legends Windcharger. Same with a Generations Legends Thundercracker and a Skywarp repainted from Starscream. Perhaps in due time.

As for Generations Legends Gnaw, I hope it looks like the original Sharkticon and that there's a lot more of his figure in each case for potential troop building. With it's relative size to the Deluxe figures, these Sharkticons can work like Scraplets. Remember how long it took for so many of us to build up our Sweeps from finding one Generations Scourge at a time? Then towards the end of that wave, cases were coming into toy departments with nearly all of the figures being Generations Scourge. Well thought out, HasTak.

I'll hold my opinion on Generations Legends Brawn when I see it. Personally I like my IGears Not-Brawn (though it's not in the "based on the cartoon" colors) and its repaint of Not-Outback, which I call Snowbound because of his color being more white than tan. Both fit well with my other Generations Deluxe figures, as do my other IGear figures, Not-Gears and Not-Cosmos.

But where's Generations Legends Bombshell and Kickback? Shrapnel's coming out in 2014, so where's his fellow Insecticons?

And like so many of us diehard fans, we're impatiently awaiting the movie's Dinobots and their corresponding figures, but I'll hold my excitement until I've seen the final toys once Bay screws things up for them.

For Slag, it's because the word "slag" is a slur word in Britain, meaning something like "whore". That's why he was named "Slug" in Fall of Cybertron.

For Sludge, who knows. Maybe they lost the rights to the name or something.

Definitely true about Slug. That, and character wise, the name Slug just fits him more.
As for "Slash", I was under the impression that it could possibly be a new Dinobot entirely.
(Hehe, "Slash" - SLASHercon  )

Thanks all, I was not aware of the Slag/Slug deal.

Also, all the "Titan" stuff refers to PVC figurines (like the SDCC Titan Guardians were) rather than more Metroplex-sized toys.

There's the Sabr we love! :APPLAUSE: :x Thanks for the clarification on the "Titan" listings specifically, though I think it'd be a little foolish to assume Hasbro has further plans to release more "Titans" like Metro...
Also, that Arcee image is hideous. Too manly IMO.

A giant toy for the multiverse's smallest Megatron? :P

To be fair, "giant toy" is hardly the best description for the shrinking leader-class toys Hasbro has been putting out lately! Unless we're assuming that most of us trash the bulk of our toys in favor of new releases, and in such a scenario, Leader-class would be comparatively "giant" when looking at current releases. :-B

That's a stupid reason to change a name, IMO. Unless "Slag" was specifically slurring an individual, I will never understand this insipid need to please everyone. Even "whores". Certainly if some British brats are using the word "slag" pejoratively, it can hardly be blamed on "Slag", the dinobot, for introducing them to naughty language? :HEADHURTS:

Sludge, by comparison (and strictly IMO), is pretty generic, so I could care less if he goes from generic name A to generic name B. But, I like how "Slag" sounded like a made-up expletive a TF would say. "Slug" has such a defeatist, common tone to it.

I agree with just about all of that. You covered a ton of stuff to really respond to, but I will say that I almost prefer Universe Brawn over iGear's version, as the iGear scale feels too large for my tastes. I get that they're going for deluxe-ish size... but shouldn't SOME of the TFs be smaller? I really wish they stuck to the not-Seaspray and not-Huffer scale. I think not-Huffer is one of their best releases... and they had to go and jack up all the scales!
xyl360 wrote::lol: "my beloved Hasbro", that's a laugh :P. There's a reason I usually buy Takara, not Hasbro.

It was more of an ironic choice of words toward Hasbro, not an attack on your personal vestment in the company. Besides, Takara is Hasbro's whipping boy! ;) (Just sayin', a better paint job does not improve a crappy, smaller, hollowed-out mold - and given the opportunity, Takara consistently keeps design flaws and offers mere paint improvements. But correct me with some examples if I'm wrong. Other than MP, which is arguably all Takara).

I knew you'd mention THRILLING 30 as a defense of Hasbro ignoring collectors, but... well, even you must realize it only took 30 years for some of these releases, right? So I guess if a company pays attention once, every 30 years, they are officially respectful of current customers. :-? Your future reply could be, "what about 25th anniversary?", etc. Okay, I will concede that on certain anniversaries, Hasbro does in fact release toys aimed at older fans - kind of like a bad wife/husband, who takes you out for dinner once a year! Ohhhh, I am just enveloped in Hasbro love and affection! What more could I ask for?! A 30th Anniversary celebration!!! HURRAH!!!  A lot of us are looking into dating other people at this point. Toyworld, iGear, FansProject, KFC, too many to really mention from memory, and even more debuting next year. I'm just not fond of "you should be grateful for the little you get, brat!" argument. I am grateful! For any awesome Hasbro release. But sometimes it's time to concede that a good company has been running the brand in a direction that doesn't coincide with your own, and much like a Nintendo-fanboy who has grown up, it's time to move onto greener pastures. Time to ask some of the hard questions, like "Why is it so essential to have Bay change everything rather than go for a G1-classic?" The TMNT franchise is enjoying a sweet revival BECAUSE they went back to their roots.
Incidentally, kids enjoy G1 a lot when given the chance (ask my 2 yr old). If Hasbro gave a sh*t, they could try and promote the old cartoon a little better, and sell these "older guys" toys to plenty of kids. Oh, and Prime didn't do well with kids, apparently, so I'm not sure it's appropriate to say it's for kids (the next show is going to be more "kid-friendly", after all).
The point is that a lot of people hate on G1-fans as "being stuck in the past", without letting kids decide for themselves. G1 had a lot of charm, and Hasbro has decidedly "moved on" with extreme prejudice and disregard. It's disheartening. Especially to younger generations who DO enjoy G1. Ehhh, but sorry, I think I got off topic here!

When Beast Wars and Animated aired in the UK, both shows were aired in a censored form to remove the instances of the word "slag" being used as an expletive. Hasbro doesn't want more of their products to get such treatment, so they simply went with a similar but different enough name for Fall of Cybertron so that it wouldn't be messed with.

Let us not forget the short-lived Power Core Combiner named Spastic and the arguments that caused.

Also for those of you getting your hopes up on Chromia, she seems to share the same product code as DLX TANK, so who knows what the end result will be.
