That is just one heckuva nice guy. I'm honored that he'd take time out of his schedule to remember us.

He is among the greats in my book. Cullen, Welker and Kaye. Heck yeah.

I think if I had to have a Top 3 Megatrons (based on voice and character)

#1: Beast Wars/David Kaye Megatron by a slim margin over
#2: Prime/Frank Welker
#3: G1/Frank Welker (though he loses Galvatron to Mr. Nimoy, though he does a good job doing a possibly mentally disturbed Galvatron)

Honorable Mention: Hugo Weaving for Movieverse Megatron, though with Megs being scrapped (likely permanently) it would be nice to see someone new to the Transformers Universe provide the voice of the new currently unnamed Decepticon leader in Movie 4.

I somehow can't picture BE Megatron doing a Shatner-esque beat poem about Christmas.
I do not blame Michael Bay for crapping all over a huge part of my childhood. He just directed the scripts that were given to him. I blame Orci, Kurtzman, and Krueger, who seem completely incapable of concocting a story that even halfway makes sense.

We all have our own 'favorites' , but for me his megatron was... no IS the best! Best looking robot mode, brutal plans, smart, and in command. I think an eventual reboot could be the Beast Wars. Perhaps its still on earth. I can see a trailor with a school field trip through a huge museum. A teacher is over heard talking about the mighty t-rex, and how he was once the king of the planet... "once?!... Megatron terrorize!" Some flash fight scenes, some of the good old beast bot maximals. Trailer ends with megs & primal charging at each other roaring all the way. Voice over saying "the battle is back on our planet this summer" "...YESSSSSSSSS"
=P~ :APPLAUSE:

No one mentioned Armada Megatron, also voiced by David Kaye. I guess Beast Megatron was more memorable. This was a nice thing for him to do, though I thought it was just a bit off. I shut my eyes and I swore I was listening to Sean Connery. I guess that's the 15 year difference. I also think he's the best Megatron, not because of the characters he voiced but because his voice made them more menacing. Welker, as good as he was in G1 (and is in Prime) had that raspy voice which made Megatron sound not so much menacing but more insane. Both worked as a voice for the evil leader, but Kaye pulled it off better.

Hm, I know Wikipedia isn't to be trusted as a source 100% of the time, but it has him listed as being cast for Transformers: Prime, but they don't say who he voices. I'm excited!

Indeed. BW Megs was funnier, and BM Megs more brilliant and egomaniacal, than Armadaverse Megs.
