We all know that Transformers is BOYS territory. Honestly, a G1 Arcee toy was never produced because any sane boy will never want to be caught dead playing with a female figure... riiiiiiiiiiiiiight?

Anyway, I know there's female TF fans on this forum and even outside of it. So, fembots, what attract you to this male-centric realm? What do you thing of the female TF? What is your favorite 'bots? Do you have a big collection?

Do you feel weird liking Transformers? When you go to the store to buy some, are you shamefuly pretending to buy them for your son or brother?

Finaly who's awesome? You're awesome.

On a side note, I'm a male brony.

I've always been a bit boyish and never really cared about girls stuff, to the point that in kindergarten I played the whole time with boys. And as a kid my best friends were boys, and I spent most of time nowadays with my brother instead of my two sisters, so it's kinda natural for me to like Transformers. And what's not to like it? It has giant robots smashing each others. :D

I've never really hated anyone in the series I've watched so far. About female TF, I don't really care much about them. They're the same to me as male TFs are. :P I'm still sort of young, so my TF collection isn't huge. To be honest, I have only one figure, and that's Cyb Ransack, but I do plan to get the Prime figures when I spot them. :D I've been wanting to buy other figures for a long time, too, but it's hard to find any and I'm not willing (yet) to buy some from internet. I could also blame my parents for not buying TFs for me for Christmas, as my brother always got one or two toys. So yeah, I'm a bit jealous. :P

Right now, I don't feel weird liking Transformers. Everyone pretty much knows it already, and they haven't said anything, so I guess they're okay with that, too. Too bad I don't know anyone else who likes Transformers except one, but I guess she has only seen the live-action movies and doesn't know much about other Transformers series.

I agree with Zequem. I've always been into boyish things for the most part. I've always hated Barbies. I hate the color pink. I hate makeup. And yet I'm a girl. I've always played with my brother's TMNT toys or My Little Ponies (originals only), but that's because of my animal side of me. And truthfully, these days - I know more females that are into Transformers then males right now. I don't really care for many female characters to begin with, so when the cast is mostly male in any show - I tend to watch it (especially in cartoons or anime). Females and girly things don't draw me to it.

Other then Transformers, my current fandoms includes TMNT, Thundercats, Tiger & Bunny, Ao no Exoricst/Blue Exorist, Durarara, and a few other series. Even Pokemon. I'm also 27. I am proud to say I am Transformers fan. And I'm proud to say that I still love to watch cartoons and anime.

Absolutely! I wouldn't be caught dead with that weird-looking pink transformer either. ;)

I've always been the tomboy type that played with toys like Transformers, my brother's He-man toys (the originals back in the day) and even basketball, football and soccer (with my female friends who were also into more stereotypical male toys)

I don't keep up with TF:Prime but from what little I've seen, I kind of like that Arcee. Other than that, I don't pay much attention to females vs males but like different characters for their personalities. My favorite bots: Optimus, Ironhide, Prowl, the Wreckers (in various incarnations), some of the beast wars (but that's because I love animals more than because I liked the show), not too many of the Cons altho Soundwave is always fun.

Big collection? Define big? I haven't counted but I'm guessing somewhere around 300. That's going to be the max soon because I'm out of shelf space. :-(

I don't feel weird liking them but I find some people's reactions to my interests to be weird. :D

I buy whatever I like and don't pretend anymore. I'm 40 (yikes, where did the time go?) and don't think I owe anyone an explanation for my purchases. Altho I enjoy it when store employees get into conversations about games, toys, etc. Makes it seem like others are into the same things I am and that's often unusual.

I really should watch that. Everyone's talking about it. Love the new Thundercats tho and already have the 'Cats in the 4 inch line.

Lemme tell you, My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic is not your childhood MLP. Go to Youtube and begin to watch the series starting at season 1 episode 1. Trust me, you'll be instantly hooked!

I, myself, have an interest in non-boyish things. I find the Barbie Collectors very beautiful and well designed. I also love the Monster High desing too. Unfortunately, my shelf space and budjet is completely devoted to Transformers. However, I do have a couple of MLP;FiM ponies proudly on display. Even the god aweful Applejack truck for the lulz.

Which make me think:

Any females out there who are tired to have the color pink shoved down their throats? Know any little girls who are tired to not have show accurate toys because of pink PINK PINK PINK!!!

I like pink! I also like that it seems to bother people so much.

Take the Seacons for example. All that pink is marvelous on those guys.

A bunch of guys wearing pink and baby-blue, getting very... tight together for some nefarious purpose?
Hmmmm...no problem!

I wouldn't consider myself as ever having been a tomboy, not even during as a kid, although I sure as hell was a geek! I just loved cartoons, all manner of them, and I watched both the "girl" cartoons (Jem, She-Ra, My Little Pony, Popples -- yes, Popples, it's embarassing) and the "boy" cartoons (Transformers, GoBots, G.I. Joe, Centurions.) Just like a lot of otherwise-girly women love sports, I love colorful ass-kicking action fantasies.

Quite succinctly put, I'd never thought of a female fans perspective in that way before.

Motto: "No sacrifice, no victory."
it's only male dominated because of the social norms that make us all grow up identifying one thing with "boy" and another with "girl", which is just a socially habitual and persistent problem (ie girls are no worse at math, but a lot of us grow up associating "girl" with or = "bad at math", and we want to be recognized as girls, so we, with no real conscious attention, don't put in the effort, just as boys might associate "boy" with "cars" and so are more eager to like transformers).

it seems like the girls here grew up in more progressive homes and communities, we didn't always make these more typical identifications.

i fraking love transformers. i love cars. i love technology. i love explosions. and yes i do also like pretty clothes and occasionally the colour pink. i want to work at industrial light and magic because i could watch the driller crush that skyscraper a thousand times over with no less awe at the fact that that required 70,000 pieces to work together and the equivalent of 288 hours of a computer's generation to render a single frame. mind blowing.

and Bee is the best. obvi. :D
