I disagree. Cybertron was never dead, just in the "Great Shutdown". Can we really hate, notice I said hate not condone, for wanting to save his world?

would the human race have acted any differently than sentinal

im afraid i think not

i can see sentinals reasoning from his perspective
Cons are fighting to rebuild their home, bots are preventing this. In their eyes, prime is the traitor, willing to condemn their world 4 an inferior species who turned their back on them at drop of a hat. Human history aligns us with cons every time

In an other universe, benedict arnold is a hero and oskar schindler is a traitor.

FInally someone who is actually discussing the topic I posted here, we must understand the perspective of Sentinel Prime treachery here, while is not virtuous in any way should be treated with some respect given his love for his race and planet and I must say the writers are to be blamed for making our dear childhood hero Optimus look like an ingrate who condemns his race and planet to doom without and choose an alien race over his very own. Honestly, I will put my home-planet and race as a priority over all others. THus this rendition of optimus is unrealistic and illogical, almost nonsensical 8-}

I clearly did watch the movie, but I'm done with you talking down to me and being disrespectful. You don't want to have a civil discussion fine, good day to you.
Please, don't bother trying to explain anything for my benefit. I know you're not, you're doing it for yourself. Why even bother explaining things to me if you're not going to respect me?

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I've seen extreme condescension come from both sides.

Optimus is right and Sentinel is wrong even his actions might make him look right. They already said in ROTF, the Primes set out to harvest energon from suns but the rule is will not harvest if there are lives there. That's why there comes The Fallen breaking that rule and so does Sentinel. What Sentinel did already endanger human races and also enslave them which all totally against "the Prime" rule. That's why Optimus told he "you betrayed yourself".

Also if Sentinel wanted to work with Megatron, why didn't he just call for a truce on Cybertron while he was still the leader and Optimus was just a soldier if reviving the planet is the bigger goal for both him and Megatron? He could just say "all right, stop, time out. Let's stop fighting and recharging the planet first and then if you still want to fight, let's fight after that." Instead, he abandoned other Autobots and made the secret deal with Megatron to set out to earth. Because he already knew what he was going to do is wrong.

First off, i apoligiged for my initial "insult" if you can even call it that. I mearly said that i thought his coment was dumb. But either way, i saw how it could have been taken different and did apoligise.
Second, many of the questions Screamfleet had were in fact answered in the movie. More than one post in this thread confirmed this but i do find it funny that we have yet to hear any kind of response from Screamfleet even from those with simular responses from mine.
Third, I still stand behind that not everything is, nor needs to be explained to you. I'll use Sentinel prime not taking the Matrix from Optimus.
I feel he didn't take the matrix because in while in his head bring back Cybertron was his ultimate goal, he was not nessasarly proud of having to make a deal with Megatron. This isn't something you can just come out and explain. It has to be shown. He did this by asking Optimus for forgivness when he activated the pillars for the first time. This to me, explains why he did not take the matrix. Now if you don't agree with that, then fine. But please don't tell me my reasoning is convaluted.

You find it funny I haven't responded?
Odd sense of humor. Well sorry to kill the laughs, I guess.

Really, I just don't want to get into a big back and forth thing with someone. We have different view points. It's not worth it to me. Especially since you're not so nice about it.
Not only did you say my comment was dumb, you suggested I didn't watch the movie. That to me says two big things. One, you're just kind of a rude guy. And two, we have very different positions on the matter. We both feel we're right, that's the way these things go.
Since you didn't want discuss it in a respectful way, I said to myself, I need to just stay away from it. That's what I'm planning on doing. If I were to keep going with it, in the end, I'm not better having done it, I'm better having walked away.

If you don't want to get in a "back and forth thing with someone" as you put it, then why ask questions that can openly start a debate? And the reason i found it funny, was while you may not want to respond to me because you I hurt your feelings, what about others that have posted simular veiws? They haven't done anything.

Screamfleet wrote:Not only did you say my comment was dumb, you suggested I didn't watch the movie. .

I did suggest your coment of Sentinel as being nothing more than Bay's excuse for explosions dumb because at the time i felt it was. This was one Character in the Movie Verse that did not lack character. Then you have the nerve to tell me that any character that I, or anyone else see's in Sentinel couldn't have possible been recieved from the movie. If you didn't get it then fine. But don't suggest that I, or others can't.
Yes i did sugjest you didn't watch the movie. When you make claims of bad writing and then ask questions like this..
Why does Sentinel

-Plan to use humans to rebuild cybertron

-when this is very clearly explained in the movie, it leads me to believe that
1.- you didn't watch
2.- you didn't pay attention (which is basicly not watching)

It was being discussed respectfull. Believe me, you have yet to see my dark side.

You didn't hurt my feelings, not at all, you're seeing me wrong, again we don't see things the same way, it becomes more and more obvious each time we interact. If this is you being respectful, well, see, I don't need to go further with you. I have my own standards for respect, you have yours.
I realized after I made my post, I didn't want to get into a thing. It was hindsight. I saw where was going to go, and needed to bow out before it was some big waste of time. You won't convince me, I won't convince you. I like having discussions, but, you're not the type of person I like to have them with, simple as that. Different strokes for different folks. If you really want to discuss with someone, I hope you find that person, it's not going to be me though. We're not compatible in that way. If you can't understand this, well, we're yet again, not seeing eye to eye, but, I think we proved that would happen alot with us.
