That's strange. 3 is generally considered to be the weakest of the trilogy, both in the books and the films. One of its most famous flaws is the ultimate deus ex machina that is the undead army that just sort of shows up and fixes everything, yet they just let them go instead of making them charge Mordor and dump the ring in the fire first.
PLEASE contact me if you have any of the following, or know where I can find them:
[list]
[*]Cybertron Leader Class Optimus Prime's wings
[*]Powermaster Optimus Prime's Supermode Head
[*]Powermaster Optimus Prime's "Super Smokestacks", or whatever those big grey guns on his Supermode shoulders are called
[*]G1 Optimus Prime's left arm, preferably with the long smokestack

Thank you.

Guess one way to get around that would be that Aragorn only held them to the one battle. If he told them to go to Mordor afterwards they may of seen that ad a broken promise, which probably wouldn't go down so well.

It may be considered that to some folks as I find it to be the one most interesting. The critics didn't hate it either and I am not one to care what critics think so you might be talking about the LOTR true fans not liking certain things. I was never a fan of it so I took it how I see it. I don't know LOTR like that but the 3rd was very enjoyable and by far the most action packed out of the 3. The first two felt like a soap opera in my opinion. It was too long!

There are 4 reasons why I love TF4 over all it's predecesors

1. Autobot personalities shine- In the other movies this was always a major flaw in them. The movie is called TRANSFORMERS for christ sakes!

2. The human/robot story- I love how in the second movie when Optimus was speaking to that human guy that nobody liked about sharing the advancements in weaponry and Optimus told him it would do more harm than good. In the 3rd movie Optimus taught the humans how to kill his own species and now in the 4th movie it backfired on him and the autobots. I always knew Optimus would live to regret giving the humans too much info and I wanted so bad too see it blow up in his face so he would stop being so naive. Ironhide warned him about mankind in part Transformers 1 and he responded that "humans are a young species they have much to learn". Now I like how Cade was responsible for bringing back hope and faith in humans. The story was really deep in this one in my opinion.

3. Mark Wahlberg vs Shia Labeouf- much better character. More suited to be the human equivalent of Optimus Prime vs Shia and Bumblebee.

4. THE VILLAINS- Way better in every way than the last movies. I love Lockdown, he was ruthless and a true boss like a villain should be. I also liked Harold Attinger and James Savoy as more dark-like human villains. I was actually scared of Lockdown..lol

Well, went and saw it last night. Yeah, it's probably my favorite one so far. More transformations (including bot to vehicle, which didn't seem to happen as often in the past three), a decent enough plot, cool villains (Lockdown and Galvatron), LOTS of screen time for the Autobots, complete with stand-out personalities and looks, good enough humor at the right moments, spectacular fights, not a bunch of unnecessary crap, etc.

This one actually seemed to have a bit more emotion to it as well, which I liked. I genuinely felt bad when Ratchet died, and Optimus was clearly distraught over it, and the deaths of his other Autobots, unlike when Ironhide died (since his reaction wasn't shown, on screen at least), where nobody seemed to care. Or the unforgettable "Aw, Jazz...". lol

Optimus' portrayal in this, I thought I wouldn't be too keen on, but I happily stand corrected. Optimus' anger was understandable. All this time protecting and fighting for the humans, and what do they do? Stab him and his Autobots in the back by hunting them down and killing them, relentlessly. Not to mention Sentinel's betrayal, and all the loss he's suffered, and death that he's been surrounded by. Optimus, and the rest of the 'Bots for that matter, were quite jaded in this. But, at least the 'Bots seemed to have renewed vigor by the end of the movie. The movieverse Prime is easily one of my favorites now, within my top three (as #3). I liked him before, but not enough to rank him that high.

Also, I LOVED Hound. Aside from obviously favoring Prime, he had to be my favorite Autobot. Also, I definitely liked the character of Cade Yeager much more than Sam. He was helpful, fairly mature, and actually helped renew Prime's faith. So all in all, it's still not perfect (no movie really is), but it was a pretty entertaining and fun ride. I definitely recommend it to those who haven't seen it yet. :)

If I want to ruin my great experience of the first view, I'll read this entire thread.

My two, probably ignored, cents:

Awesome!!! I really liked how Optimus changed from 'we must protect the humans, we brought this war to them' to 'I will break my promise'.

First part was very heavy to watch, I love Galvatron. Not to crazy about the whole digital-transformation thingy like probably every single other TF fan. But it's acceptable, does kind of explain why they can change Alt-Mode without going to a machineshop.

Next week I'll watch it again, and that week after that probably for the third time.
Man I hate not getting Drift when I had the change, he was so funny. And also Hound.
Finally the team knows how to put in humor without it being toilet or sexual.

Great hopes for the future movie franchise!

Won't even start with the Dinobots, there was a tear in my eye. So awsome!

Until 1 of these movies flops financially, Paramount will keep making them. Eventually, it will get old and boring, even for the movie fans. I am willing to take them at their word that this new set of 3 movies will be the end, at least for Michael Bay. Regardless of how much money is involved, I can't picture Michael Bay dedicating the rest of his life to making Transformers movies. Considering that the 1st film started production in 2006, he's been doing this for 8 years. TF5 is a given, and if we are to believe Paramount, they will move mountains to meet Bay's demands to direct the next film. So if he directs the 1st 5, why not just finish the new trilogy? So he'll most likely come back for the 6th film as well. Unless, of course, TF5 bombs badly. But considering how AoE ended, I doubt that will happen. I think most of us will want to know what happened to Optimus. Now, if I was Michael Bay, I would use this opportunity to take Paramount and Hasbro to the cleaners, and squeeze every cent out of them that they're willing to pay him. :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay:

Yeah I am serious. Those two Transformers games was the most loved Transformers games period and for good reason. I'm also not talking about a live action movie. It would be too expensive to make a live action WAR FOR CYBERTRON. But a cartoon movie in the same design as Transformers Prime that's around 3 hours long would suffice for me.

Sadly, a cartoon movie wouldn't be as successful since cartoons are, to this day, still looked down upon by casual moviegoers as kids' stuff. Take The Lego Movie, for instance. It was amazing, yet anyone and everyone I've talked to who didn't see it said that they didn't see it because they were under the impression that it was either gonna suck or be a children's flick that adults wouldn't enjoy. That seems to the general opinion of the masses about animated movies. Live action films are viewed as being something more serious and more for adults, and thus have a much wider appeal and greater opportunities for success.

Plus, the games themselves already tell solid enough stories. A movie based on them wouldn't really add all that much if it wanted to stick true to the games.

And, well, there's also the little notion of High Moon Studios being a video game developer, and asking a game company to make a theatrical feature film would be like asking a vegetarian to eat a raw steak. :P

My 2 cents on Age of Extinction:

The movie was AWESOME. But the entire thing was mind-numbing. I literally couldn't think straight for the entire show.
Optimus Prime was freaking awesome. Some people might scream that G1 Optimus Prime wouldn't be as violent, but G1 Optimus Prime wasn't having his friends and himself hunted down.
Lockdown was THE best villain for a Transformers film as of yet. Ruthless, brutal, and with no allegiance in the war. One thing that bugged me was the fact that he died in a way similar to how Megatron died in Dark of the Moon.
What do I think of the new 'bots? Each one of them had some awesome character development, and I loved them all, except for Bumblebee, because I'm tired of the yellow bastard. Please, Bay, kill him off.
Galvatron was a bit underwhelming, because he barely did anything. Sniff.
If I were to compare this film to the others, I'd still say Dark of the Moon was the best, with Age of Extinction tying with the first film.

Yes he did. Lord Chumley hunted several Autobots to lure Optimus out into the open so he himself could be hunted by Chumley. Though Chumley kept the other Autobots alive as insurance instead of killing them, they were still all hunted down, regardless. :P

I think the point is that human killing rage Optimus is the best Optimus XD

Normal Optimus: "Freedom is the right of... zzzzz"
Ragemode Optimus: "I KILL YOU!!!" "GIVE ME YOUR FACE" "TIME TO FIND OUT"

"I'm gonna tear them apart" "We will kill them all"

"WE'RE NOT YOUR TECHNOLOGY!!!" "DIE!!!" "GET AWAY, ALL OF YOU! THIS IS MY FIGHT!!!" "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"I RISE, YOU FALL." "YOU HAVE NO SOUL!" "I SEND THIS MESSAGE TO MY CREATORS. *Random stuff*, I'M COMING FOR YOU!" "TAKING THE CHILDREN WAS A BAD MOVE!" "YOU LIED TO US! EVERYTHING HUMANS KNOW OF OUR PLANET WE WERE TOLD HAD ALL BEEN SHARED! SO WHY WAS THIS FOUND IN HUMAN POSSESSION?!" "YOU DIE!" "STAND WITH US!" "YOU'LL NEVER STOP AT ONE! I'LL TAKE YOU ALL ON!"

Am I the only one who thought Galvatron was awesome? He managed to get himself a superior new body and raise a small army while he was dead. That is some serious bad-assery.
