Sorry for derailing
probably discussed earlier in thread

WTF with the changing sequence of Galvatron and the KSI-formers? is this an attempt to bring Kreo into the movieverse?

??? Where do you get Kreo from morphing? That's the technology KSI uses to transform their drones. It was explained in the movie.

Ironically, Kre-O doesn't even do the 2-in-1 big builds anymore and none of the Movie Kreons are Micro-Changers either.

I assume the KSI-bot transformations were so wildly different to separate them from "real" Transformers. And perhaps to save time/money (cheaper to just copy-paste a plain cube a million times than to make individual gears, pistons, wires, etc.)

I would never watch HTTYD 2. The reason it can't compete is because it's mainly for kids. Transformers have a wide range of age groups. It started in 84, almost 30 years ago.

(This is is also the most negative post I've ever had on seibertron.)

I think that's a little harsh. About the ignorance of the world I mean, people have seen this and loved it, getting their money's worth. People see what will interest them.

Sad but true. But I still stand by what I said, harsh or not. I honestly think the only reason I'm so upset is because HTTYD2 isn't doing well financially while TF4 is. Had that not been the case, I probably wouldn't be as riled up. And I'm not even a hardcore Dragons fan.

You are basically say that everyone who has enjoyed the Transformers movies is ignorant.
It's not harsh, it's insulting.

great now hes never going to go away. But this doenst prove anything it just shows he knows when to release movies. I guarantee if he released his movies during the winter or when there was another big name movie out he wouldnt do so good. If he wants to show how "good" his movies are go head to head with avengers or the next avatar. But im surprised to see lucas so low on the list, i thought he wouldd be 2nd or 3rd.

But on another note i have to agree with negifan on the kreo thing, first time i saw the drone "transform" i said hey look a kreo. Just think about it how do you "trasform" a kreo? You build a robot then take it apart & build a car or what ever the alt is. Kreo hasnt sold well so what better way to try & boost sale than to throw it in a movie no matter how stupid & unrealistic it is.

I think you'll find the release dates are set by the studios Marketing Department, the Director would have very little say in it.

Much like the Director doesn't write the scripts with all the plot holes.

But hey, Bay bashing ... I get it, people enjoy it, it should be an Olympic sport.

That would make for an interesting sport...How would you judge it?.
Seriously though I bet some movies in the past and present, have had their release dates changed to avoid competing with a Transformers movie.

Funny thing is a Marvel/DC/whatever movie could of opened and AoE would of still done well. People would of saw both movies :P People wouldn't watch AoE just because it's on, they would watch it because they wanted to.

Big points for anyone who can do a Bay-bash backed up by actual facts and not fanboy rage.

Not just Transformer movies, other big movies as well. It's not uncommon for movies to be shifted a couple of weeks to avoid opening against a "juggernaut".

Still not the Directors decision though.

Looking at all the comments about the movie in this thread, a lot of comments seem to be either of the mindset of "It was a good movie and I liked it!" or "It was a bad movie and I didn't like it!"

Tell me honestly, is there anybody here who saw the movie and is of the mindset of "It was a bad movie, but I liked it!"?

Anyone here who felt that it was "objectively bad" but still "subjectively enjoyed" it?

I think that would be kinda tough to do. The movie was made with serious intentions. If Bay would have decided to make it as a satire, then maybe, yeah.

The only "bad" movie I ever enjoyed was Santa's Slay. Freakin' masterpiece of black humor.

Not entirely, as the concept of accepting a movie as "not a good movie" yet still finding enjoyment in it makes it into a "guilty pleasure".

Take the G1 cartoon, for instance. By today's standards, it's 98 episodes of mediocre storytelling, archaic animation, one- to two-dimensional characters, hokey science/logic, and purely non-nutritional substance. Yet, it is still beloved by many fans who, even after removing their nostalgia glasses, get some genuine enjoyment out of it. There are many fans who accept it for what it is, yet still find it delightful.

'Course, I am just referring to the fans who openly recognize it as being far from masterpiece quality and not those other particular fans who have been so blinded by their nostalgia into thinking that the G1 cartoon seriously is a masterpiece, but I digress.

As an example of my own, I see the RiD cartoon as hardly worthwhile from an objective viewpoint, yet still get a kick out of it from a subjective viewpoint. Thus, the RiD cartoon is my guilty pleasure.

Well, then maybe in 20-30 years when the technology for CGI improves very much over the current being used, and perhaps there will be great TF movies with serious TF stories being made as true reboots of this series of films, these TF movies will be watched purely for guilty pleasure enjoyment. But right now, it's the best we have, and I don't think most people can look at it as a good "bad" movie. I will admit, DoTM and AoE kinda made me look at RoTF that way...

So, you had to explain something by making something up? There was never any hint of Dark Energon existing in these movies, so no one should ever be thinking about Dark Energon when watching these movies.

Plus, Dark Energon is purple, not bright blue.[/quote]

Well, I'm colorblind, I thought it was a bright purple.

I know Dark Energon wasn't mentioned, but the movie didn't really explain how Megatron survives. Optimus says the Spark contains the memories/soul........ but Galvatron doesn't have a Spark, little alone Megatron's. I can buy that his memory was downloaded into the new body, but again, Optimus said the Spark has the memories. Don't get me wrong I'm ok with the idea of Megs essentially being a virus of some sort, but trying to explain it to a woman who has very little TF knowledge, I had to come up with something. lol

It's simple, really. Megatron's alive as Galvatron when he shouldn't be alive. So it's a plot hole. :-B

Even still, Galvatron should not have even been alive without a spark. A Transformer cannot survive without one, unless they're just lifeless drones or zombies running on artificial power sources. Or if they're powered by AllSpark energy substituting their spark.

None of the KSI bots had a spark either so you answered your question. They are running on some other power source. The Humans can't create a spark.

But Galvatron was shown to be alive. It was a plot point of the movie. That's what clashes with his having no spark.

His brain activity was transferred to the Galvatron body. He infected the program to have the humans create him. It's kinda like a demon possessing a body.

Where/when was that shown/stated?

ROTF already took care of the last two shards, with one being stolen from N.E.S.T. by the Cons to revive Megatron, and the other found by Sam in his sweatshirt and used to revive Jetfire.

The only other thing that could give/restore life in this universe that we know of is the Matrix, which last we saw was still in Optimus's keep.
