Am I the only one?

Or does anyone else find it slightly odd, if not a little eye-rollish, that Sam started performing free-running/parkour randomly in DotM? I just blinked, unable to fathom just when the guy had learned to kong jump and become so agile.

It annoyed me more than the wing gliders, even.

I think, for me, the most annoying aspects of a movie are when popular social trends are added to a film, just because they're 'popular' - like Sam suddenly sprouting parkour.

Anyone feel the same? Or differently?

On one hand, I totally agree. It is often irritating when characters suddenly seem to have the gift for whatever the latest craze is.

On the other hand though, in DOTM, I didn't even notice Sam's new-found talent for slipping and sliding and jumping with grace until I watched the film again after having read people mention it. So no, I'm afraid I can't say it really bothered me on this occasion!

It was a bit 'blink and you miss it'. I think I blinked!

It was like one time and the guy was determined to shut off that pillar. You do some really crazy shizz, you don't even know you can do when you're determined...I guess...

Didn't bother me one bit and to be honest, i think its kinda rediculous that of all things this would bother you. Like others have even yourself have meantioned, its only for a split second. Its not like he chased decepticons across the ciy jump-climbing walls and jumping off 2 story buildings. It was one move that lasted a second or so. NO biggie.

The only reaction I got from that was "wow, that stuntman is pretty agile."

I didn't say it ruined the movie, it was more me stating how random it seemed, given that through the entire franchise Sam has been more of a 'stumble and trip' kind of guy - not someone capable of performing complex parkour moves.

Or that's my impression of him, at least.

I tend to pick up on those little things, since I have an eye for detail, and am aware of them. Like product placement in movies or television shows.

But, don't get me wrong, there's a lot wrong with the movie - in this case, I just wanted to see if others were caught rubbing their chins over the randomness, too. And since you didn't, that's fine.
