You're kidding...right?

If not, I hate to tell you, but we were never getting an Omega Supreme. He didn't make the cut.

That won't stop Takara from making one, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

So TFA got chemo'd huh? Well that's cool. At least it frees up space for better TF stuff. For once Hasbro did something right. :APPLAUSE:

They are all being merged into the catch all Transformers line. Could we see these figs released in the same way as Deluxe Thrust and others? WHo knows...but let's wait and see what happens first before decrying the end of the Animated line.

Here's the problem with that theory: We saw Rodimus on card, in Animated packaging. Not once did we see or hear a mention of Animated being in the Generations line.

And ROTF isn't dying, really. It's now becoming Hunt For The Decepticons. HFTD and Generations are two totally different lines.

I do think we could see the death of Animated on these shores.

NOBODY LOVES WHEELIE wrote:I'm gonna say this and its not a slam on the Animated line, but I'm not suprised.

Before you get the torchs let me explain...the US Transformers line goes through this every so often...they expand lines then get the idea that they need to condense to present a more unified line.

-Movie(when we have movie product out)
-Animated
-Classics Universe

You know Movie is not gonna be cancelled. And the Classics line or whatever their calling it this week always seems popular.

So what was left to condense. Animated.

The two product lines I wish Hasbro would cancel are Legends...I'm sorry their smaller crappier versions of larger figures and to be honest their peg warmers, unless they want to do more smaller characters like the did with Wheelie and such the line should just disappear.

That and the roleplay and the little Hot Wheels style cars...again maybe its me but this stuff sits on shelves forever until it hits clearence...I just don't see the sense of continuing lines that are essentially made to clear.

None of your points were inflammatory. You're right. Animated was the one line they were able to leave by the wayside and really not look back. So, it lost out and was axed.

I must disagree, however, on the Legends Class comment. I see them sell out rather frequently, with new product being refreshed often. I personally don't find much to like about them (I own 4, perhaps 5) but they're at least a modest success.

Now, I will agree with you on RPMs. Man, those suckers ain't going anywhere. I've seen some of the original case shipments still sitting on pegs. There's dust on some of them!

Fortunately, Takara is carrying Animated, so I think we'll get to see the figures we were promised, just not as we were promised. I'm wondering if Hasbro planned this...

Here's why:

The show's off the air, the sales were down, the kids need more to be interested in than just toys and 'toons, and with Takara releasing their own figures now, all Hasbro had to do was swat us with Arcee and Ratchet, keep us calm cool and collected and then they'll say "Here ya go, have at it!"

So, they won't lose any money on the figures being produced (because Takara will most likely release them on their own), and we still get our figures. In the end, it's a win/win for everyone.

Kind of a poopy way to do it, but at least we'll have gotten what we were promised.

It also doesn't help that the cartoons air on a network that some people have no access to. You can't get it over the air, it's not on some basic cable systems (most, but not all), and a lot of people don't even have cable (period), so what's a kid supposed to do? How are they supposed to know about the show?

And now that it's moving to The Hub? Geez. Another cable tier and more money. Oh gee, sign me up!

All this.

I'm kind of shocked that people are surprised by the news. The cartoon's been gone for a while now, the movie's still the big thing, and we've got the Generations line coming presumably with a TF Prime cartoon line too. Why would Hasbro waste any more effort on a line that's no longer got any mass appeal?

They showed us several potential figures-big deal. I can think of several upcoming models from Pontiac, Saturn, and Hummer that are never going to see the light of day now. If GM can kill entire brands, Hasbro can and probably has killed a couple of figures from a dead line.

It definitely sucks for everyone who wanted them, but at least if this IS true and IS confirmed, at least maybe Takara will be the knight in shining armor for the Animated collector.

Wow, really? The cartoon was cancelled and toy line is basically dead yet comments like this still persist? You really think producing a couple of store exclusives here and there is going to slow the production of the new "better TF stuff"? Mind you, they have already spent the time and money to design these figures and probably have the molds ready to go. I would so hate for TFA Rodimus, Blackout, and company to get in way of those precious PowerCore Combiners. Give me a break.

I'm cool with people not digging Animated. I was skeptical at first, but once I saw the show and got the some of the toys I was sold. It just annoys me how some people take every opportunity to take a jab. I don't like anything from the Beast-era, but I don't go into every Beast-era topic that pops up to express my opinion. In fact I don't even open any of the Beast-era topics, because I know there is nothing there for me to discuss.

Good thing we got those power core combiners and more movie line stuff to look forward to right......right?

I mean really, we are getting a line that features drone limbs that dont even have bot modes yet proper figures like the rest of the Animated lines are possibly getting scraped. Just remember that when you all go out drop a bunch on the powercore line.

I'm not even sure how to classify the PCC line.

ROTF and Animated were both main line series.
Even Classics/Universe/Generations went from filler to main line, sharing the spot light with both ROTF and Animated.

But PCC? I'm not sure if you can classify it as filler, or just a gimmick to try out.

ROTF ain't goin' anywhere, now that Hunt For The Decepticons is coming in a month or so, and we know that Generation is their other big push. There's really no need for a filler line, considering there won't technically be a lull for it to fill.

I realize Hasbro said that there will be a lull of sorts, but with all of the product on HFTD and Generations, is there really any need and/or room for PCC?

I don't think so. I think it's wasted money on wasted time.

Well, I think you're absolutely right if someone says "TFA suxs balls, they should have axed them a year ago, hahaha!", because a line like that is flaming someone all the way.

But, I don't think it's dissing the fanbase when I say that I personally wasn't a fan of TFA. It definitely wasn't my intention to do so!

Ha! No, for me it was more of a case of "here's where I draw the line." I DO like some of the RotF molds and figures, but overall I just can't get into collecting them. TFA was different enough that it caught my interest--RotF all seems to look the same to me after a while. But hey--everyone can like what they want, right? As long as SOMEONE is buying the TF stuff out there, they'll have to keep making more! ;)

To the folks who are sad that Animated is coming to an end; I sympathise. I'm not especially attached or unattached to the line but it had some great figures and if anyone desperately wants Takara figures I'll do my best to hook brothers up.

To the folks who are glad that Animated is coming to an end; Sure, you're entitled to an opinion too but this may not be the most tactful place to bring it up. It's like being at a company the day it goes bankrupt and laughing because you at least have wealthy parents. There's still people around you who are upset even if it doesn't bother you.

And to the folks bashing Powercore Combiners; Really? You're also entitled to your opinion but it's not even out yet, and if I had a penny for every fan who's badmouthed a line and then totally changed their tune later on I could buy a MISB Black Zarak. Seriously, wait and give it a chance before loading the flame-throwers.

Thank you! This is exactly why I got pissed earlier in the thread. This wasn't an opinion thread, it was an information thread asking for opinions on whether or not the email's info was valid. There is a difference, and I wish the people could see that. (there will always be a troll in the mix, I suppose...)

Diem wrote:And to the folks bashing Powercore Combiners; Really? Fair point. However, sometimes you just know you're not going to like something. I love the ROTF line, but I can't stand Fast Action Battlers or Gravity Bots. Not a big fan of Legends Class either. I own one F.A.B. (Frenzy), and 4-5 Legends, total. The rest I refuse to buy. And I've kept that promise to myself.

So, every once in a while, people stick to their guns when they say they're not going to do something. I'm one of those guys, this time. I'm also one of the people who has flip flopped when it came down to buying the figure when presented to me. This time, however, outside of HasTak giving us Menasor and Defensor with fully working limbs (I.E. actual hands and feet), I won't be going near the PCC line. Too much of the "Gotta Catch 'Em All!" mentality.

And it also feels as though the main robots suffered some to accommodate those garish connector points and combined mode transformation.

I do hope that folks will enjoy them and that they're happy with them, but they're just not for me.

Er...they did complete the Dinobots. Grimlock, Snarl, and Swoop were the only ones that they had in the show and toy line.

This isn't G1. Even with all of the homages, it's it's own separate entity.

very true and truth is i never watched the entire series but they also didnt release figures for other charachters like omegasupreme nor did they complete the seekers or release the constructicon brothers but that doesnt mean thay couldnt have released the last 2 dinobots that true werent in the show. all im saying is that it wouldve been pretty sweet if they completed the set. its pretty long overdue imo.
