Any INHUMANOIDS fans out there ?

Postby Lord Manhammer '74 » Tue Sep 20, 2011 7:57 pm

Along with G.I. JOEand the TRANSFORMERSin what was I thought was a golden age of kids entertainment was another Hasbro created toyline called the INHUMANOIDS. As one fan of the property described the line was ,"Imagine H.P. Lovecraft doing children's programming." :-?

The show was a little different first off with the villains of the show, the monstrous Inhumanoids getting top billing. The heroes of the show were the Earth Corp. A group explorers who utilized high tech vehicles and armor to aid their explorations of the world beneath the Earth, and deal with the Inhumanoids.
For a quick bit of who's who and what's that of the world of the Inhumanoids check out this bit from Cinemassacre.com, courtesy of the Angry Video Game Nerd.

Also, with him making a return to the Transformers in the TFCC Club Magazine story's opening chapter, and one of IDW's post-ChaosTF books. It's fitting that one of the Inhumanoids developers, Flint Dille, talk about the genesis, and all too soon downfall. :( http://inhumanoids.deviantart.com

As this thread hopefully progresses I'll be updating with some more material as it goes on.

Inhumanoids are all kinds of awesome. I managed to find a VHS tape at Goodwill a while back.
I want to get around to getting the major baddies.

DE-COM-POSE!

There were plans for the Inhumanoidsline to initially continue another year, unfortunately Hasbro pulled the plug on the continuing adventures of the Evil That Lies Within. :-x But in my years of perusing the world wide web I found a few things showing what was in the cards for the second line of franchise. Some which will not be much of a surprise if you followed the animated series.

The first is a cardback for the figure of the evil Blackthorne Shore's frequent collaborator, Dr. Herman Meangler,a.k.a. Dr. Nightcrawler.
http://actionfiguresca.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=Cartoons&thread=130&page=2 This cardback made the rounds at the toy trade shows shortly before it Hasbro ended it.

The next thing items of interest come from Richard Marcej's My Artwork & Designs At HASBRO:1983-89. Which contains quite a booty of sketches ,and models to his works done for Hasbro. One of the two sketches that might be of interest is on the book's cover is Metlar's former master, Ssslither, in living color.http://www.baboonbooks.com/Comics_Books/Hasbro%20Art%20Book/HAS_preview.htm
Finally, here's a look at the interior of the book featuring two concept sketches featuring the second line's new Inhumanoids. The first is Ssslither, and a photo of a model of what the figure would've looked like had it hit the stores. Then the second , from the the episodes, Negative Polarities and The Evil Eye, the gruesome Gagoyle.

Forgot about this being here :BANG_HEAD:

Would be cool to see an update to Inhumanoids or reruns on Qubo night owl :michaelbay: .

I picked up a Tendril back in Nov or Dec last year
his two orange tendrils are broken, but he was only $5.00

Weapon: Indepentently Targetable Particle Beam Cannons
I had the D'compose guy when I was a kid...he made an awesome "boss" for my other action figures to fight against...especially when he was waging one-monster assualts on Castle Greyskull (to be defeated by the combined might of He-Man and the Ninja Turtles :-P)

Would be cool to see a modern-day update on these guys...especially with better articulation and molding.

Awecool I really liked that show when I was a kid....

I had a few of those toys... Tendril, and then the magma brothers, and the tree toy.... kinda hard to collect them all as a kid when all the evil dudes are huge an expensive though....

I went back and found some vids of the show online and doesn't hold up as much as good as G1 Transformers though....
