Metal Gear Solid 4 will probably be the first game I get with my PS3. I won't be getting my PS3 until the end of the year at the earliest as my house is sucking the soul out of my bank account. It won't be out until the end of the year at the earliest, but I can wait patiently.

I'd like to play it, but not even MGS will convince me to get a PS3.

QFT I'm a big MGS fan i play all except for Snakes Revenge and MG II cause it was never imported till Subsistence came out and I haven't touched the second disk yet. Also it seems like Kojima-son might be screwing with your head there's a new trailer which might imply that snake is still young and the Old face might be a camo. But I hope they Port it to the 360 cause there is no game not even Shadow of the Collosus that would get me to spend $650 on a video game system.

Haven't seen much of it recently, cause I'm on Dial-up, and I missed the episode of X-Play that featured MGS 4. Also, the only video game magazine I get is EGM, and they haven't done a lot of coverage recently.

But despite that, I'm looking forward to it. I loved MGS 1, thought 2 was pretty good, and 3 really was pretty kickin. I'm going to have to do a second play through of it one of these days. The nightmare mode was pretty cool.

Has Vamp popped up in any of the trailer for MGS 4? I heard his backstory will be told fully in the new game.

And I've also heard that after MGS 4, Kojima's done with the PS3. Maybe that means there'll be a port to the 360? I kinda hope so, cause I'd be more likely to go the route of a 360 over a PS3, but not before a Wii. And the 360 has rumble, unlike the PS3. I'm suspecting a "dual shock" controller to be released for the PS3 though when MGS 4 comes out, cause after all, it was the original MGS that made rumble truely viable on the PS1.

Hopefully when MGS 4 is done with, they'll start work on Zone of the Enders 3.

Damn straight they better.
I'm dying to play MGS4 but the price of the PS3 is extremely off putting as others have already said.
Hopefully they'll release MGS4 around the time of a decent PS3 price drop...

Good luck with that MGS 4 is suppose to come out this year and someone at Sony recently said that there will be no price drop. Now Think thats a bunch of postuering but in all likelihood you wont see a price drop till 2009 the earliest

I'd like to get it, I mean I'd REALLY like to get it.

But $600 for a system is way outta my price range.

If it were to come out to 360 I may consider it.

Yeah Yeah I know but there is a thing called delays  but I somehow doubt that too while looking at Kojima & co. and Konami's track record. But still I think it will be the first game I get "whenever" I do get a PS3.
Chances of a PS3 being released without the Blu-ray player? Just a raw PS3 that plays games? haha yeah I'm dreaming since when does Sony make good decisions.

MGS is easily one of my favorite video game series. I'm hoping that the rumors of a port to 360 come out to be true; I'm willing to wait a while, because I really don't want a PS3. Until then, I guess I'll have to make do with Snake in SSBB.

Well it usually goes like this, at least on the PS2 anyway.

Metal Gear Solid sequel debuts on the Playstation brand. Several months pass and the game launchs on another platform with more bells and whistles in it than the PS brand had. Several months after that the MGS game is released on the PS brand again with the bells and whistles from the other console under a new name.

Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 both followed this pattern and I'm betting we'll see that same pattern with MGS 4.

I only fell for that bait and switch once with the extras for 2. I never bought the newer release of 3 and if and when I get it for the PS3 I'm not holding out for the next version and I won't be buying the other version either. If they're planning on adding all this crap to the game, just put it in the first time or let us know you'll be putting another version out later. I hate buying 2 copies of the same game for some bonus stuff.

I stand corrected. 2 was the only one to do that particuliar setup. Now if only Twin Snakes had made it over to PS2 from the Gamecube. Not that I don't have the GC version of MGS, but I like the PS2 controls more.

I'm just hoping we don't get multiple versions og MGS4 and they just put it out complete for a change.
