I found that new thing in store a few days ago. I was mostly intrigued by that "transformable mainfraime". It's LEGO compatible and was not to expensive so I tried it out.

Of course, the default bot is not transformable at all which is kind of a waste. Plus, there's a few pieces in this that are really not LEGO compatible. Still, I tried something.

First of all, the transformable block is very small, forcing me to do a small TF. Scout size at best. Second, you cannot put any blocks as you please on the thing if you want it to transform. Some tiny parts need to overlap and rotate so if you put certain blocks at certain places, it either wont transform, or the offending blocks will just pop out of the way.

So, here's the vehicle mode I could manage. I had to really think outside the box to make this.
Even the shovel can rotate a bit.







You must really be careful when transforming it. The wheels have a tendency to pop off. I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to glue the peices together. The sweet thing is, it transform like a REAL transformers, thanks to the transforming block. No partforming at all in this transformation. Not even the weapons.




Here's the bot, complete with sheild and hammer of justice.

How are the Tenkai Knights? I keep seeing them on clearance at Walmarts and they intrigue me.

They are not too bad. The transforming block have many limitations on how you can attach blocks to it. However, it snap together solidly and the "bot" form is decently articulated and the joints are tight. I plan of getting a beast block next and make a plane/jet/spaceship that transform into a beast.

I paid my box 13$+taxes at Target without regrets. If the Tenkai Knignts are at clearance at your local store, get a small humanoid at least. Making a proper transformers out of it is challenging, but pretty fun.

Thanks for the recommendation, Kanrabat. Grabbed a couple and I'm not disappointed in the purchase. May take a page from your book and grab another Vilius to make my own custom TF.
