If anyone gives a toss, i'm still kicking.

I found internet in a stinky water logged office! :p

No power at home, but also no damage. Just a bunch of wiped out fruit trees.

As TC said, jet engines. Wasn't an easy night, we had mandatory evacuations so my family bunkered down in my new townhouse, which wasn't even set up for me yet! Spent the night trying to sleep on the tiled floor. Lots of fun noises outside, didn't know whether roof was lifting or the garage door was going or it was just the neighbours awnings.

Turned out to be the awnings.

I was busy pushing bodies around as you well know and what would a note say, Dan? "Cat dead, details later"?

Which house? :P

No seriously, that in it's self is an interesting story.

Some people know that I just bought my own little townhouse which I was going to be moving into next week.

Order came through for mandatory evacuations for my parents place so we all piled into my not-even-set-up-for-me-let-alone-five-people townhouse to ride out the cyclone.

So my first night in my new home was with the rest of my family and I had to sleep on the tiled floor.

We lost power between 9:30pm and 10:00pm. Just before that I was on Facebook on my phone showing my sister Ryan's photos he'd been taking of Chicago's blizzard. Hard to believe that two people on the one site from opposite ends of the world were both going through severe weather conditions at the same time but being impacted in such a different way.

Once the power went out though that was it. You had two choices, stay up and crap yourself, or try to sleep.

I tried both. I tried sleeping on my couch but it proved too hot. (Would have been lovely to open the window to let the 280km/hr breeze in ...) So I stood up ... and found myself shaking from head to toe. I managed to lay down on the tiles and settled down a little but I didn't really get to sleep until around 2am, even then it was a pretty fitful sleep.

Woke up, inspected the place, no major damage. Dad and I headed home and we were amazed that along the way there was NO structural damage whatsoever, just all the vegetation destroyed. When we got home, found the house in good nick, just lost all the fruit trees.

Poor trees... Glad to hear you're doing ok (as far as ok goes for dealing with all that crap).
I'll still be praying for ya, man.
