Auto Assembly has confirmed it's first two special guest for 2012, voice actors Michel Bell and Townsend Coleman. Bell voiced many popular Generation 1 characters that include Prowl, Swoop, and Bombshell. Coleman was the voice of Transformers Animated's Sentinel Prime as well as the Tick. It looks like 2012 is already shaping up to be another great year for Europe's premiere Transformers Convention.

It's that time of year again when all the shopkeepers are rubbing their hands with glee... sorry, we mean everyone is celebrating and getting ready for the festive season. We're all joining in with the Christmas spirit here at Auto Assembly as we bring you The 12 Days Of Christmas...!

Throughout December, we'll be bringing you a series of announcements connected to Auto Assembly. We're not going to reveal what they are right now but some will be new exclusive videos on our Youtube Channel, others will feature guest announcements, and there will even be some stuff from Auto Assembly Europe as well.

You can see the trailer video on our Youtube Channel here:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-CiEnioiIA and look our for the first announcement on 1st December!

Don't forget that you can book your tickets for Auto Assembly 2012 which is taking place over the weekend of 3rd - 5th August 2012 and will be held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel which is located near Birmingham International Airport, Birmingham, England. As always, the convention will have our usual mix of dealers, guests, workshops, videos, displays, competitions and much more. Our first two confirmed voice actors are Michael Bell and Townsend Coleman who are joining our already growing list of guests and it's already shaping up to be a great convention!

If you are interested in attending next year as a dealer, or are interested in sponsoring the convention in any way, please email us at contact@autoassembly.org.uk

Also, if you haven't already seen it, our new Transformers fanzine CT Alpha was launched recently and you can download the FREE copy of Issue 0 from its website at http://www.ct-alpha.com Each issue is packed with fiction, comic strips, articles and is released as a digital download. The first "proper" issue is due for release soon with single issue, three issue and six issue subscriptions available starting from just £1.25 for a single copy with proceeds going to the convention.

For more details on the convention, to see a full list of all the guests and activities taking place over the weekend, or to book your tickets, visit the website at http://www.autoassembly.org.uk

Have a great Christmas and have a Happy New Year!

Today is the first day of Auto Assembly's Twelve Days Of Christmas campaign that we will be running between now and the 24th of December where we will be making loads of announcements about next year's convention and bringing you plenty of great new videos for our Youtube Channel, and to celebrate the release of the first of these announcements later today, we're proud to be able to bring you a special pre-Christmas sale on tickets for Auto Assembly 2012...

That's right, for the first time ever, we're joining in with the festive spirit started by our friends at Savcon with their Black Friday sale, and offering our full weekend Adult tickets for Auto Assembly 2012 at the specially reduced price of £35 - a massive saving of £10 off the normal price but this is for a limited time only! To take advantage of this great saving of over 20% you must book your tickets online and before midnight on Christmas Eve!

If you've never been to Auto Assembly before, this may well be the perfect incentive for you to make the decision to come and join us! With everything that we have planned for the convention taking place in the Summer of 2012, we know that it's going to be our biggest and best ever convention and with our move to our new venue - the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel - we have the capacity to offer you all much more than ever!

The ticket price will include full access to the convention all weekend including the Saturday night programme, all of the workshops, a copy of our convention magazine, a convention exclusive comic, and a goodie bag packed with free gifts! Not sure if you can afford to make it to the convention? Well, Auto Assembly isn't as expensive as you might think...

Not only are the ticket prices reduced for this limited period, but hotel rates for Auto Assembly 2012 are at the lowest ever! Despite the Hilton being a stunning four-star hotel, the convention rate for bedrooms are just £50 a night for a single and £60 for a twin or double inclusive of breakfast! The hotel has 700 parking spaces in it's own on-site car park for those of you travelling by car and is on the site on Birmingham International rail station and if you book train tickets in advance you can make great savings on your rail journey!

For those of you travelling from outside of the UK, the convention hotel is located adjacent to Birmingham International Airport and if you are travelling to any other airport in the UK, there are fantastic rail links to Birmingham so you are only a short train ride away! As Auto Assembly is taking place in August, we're deep into the school holidays making it easier for families to attend, and for those of you planning a holiday, we're running at the same time as the 2012 Summer Olympics so you can join in the Olympic atmosphere while you're with us!

We already have a great line-up of guests including voice actors Michael Bell and Townsend Coleman, and a range of comic talent including Simon Furman and James Roberts and we'll be announcing at least three more guests (including our third voice actor) during December!

To book your tickets or to find out more, visit the website at www.autoassembly.org.uk

If you are interested in attending next year as a dealer, or are interested in sponsoring the convention in any way, please email us at autoassembly@aol.com

We hope to see you all in August...

Auto Assembly Europe 2012 to be held in Malmo, Sweden in November of next year:

Here's Day Two of Auto Assembly's "Twelve Days Of Christmas"! Here's the first of our news announcements as part of our series of twelve videos for December, but we're not telling you what it is - you'll just have to watch it for yourselves and find out! Day Three will be released on 9th December so remember to come back to the channel to see it and don't forget to take advantage of our special Christmas sale on Auto Assembly 2012 tickets...

One final thing... because of abusive posts in the past, we have had to set all of our videos to require pre-approval for comments so if yours doesn't appear straight away, don't worry - it's just that we need to check them first so please don't re-submit them!

Pretty interesting about the update for Auto Assembly. Meanwhile, I read from here http://www.cardealexpert.com/make/Toyota/ that a bi-national free trade agreement could spell United States automotive jobs. According to the Detroit Free Press, the brand new Toyota Camry will be shipped to South Korea beginning this January. This is the first non-U.S. Export of the Camry is going to happen. The rising yen and the increasing need to see South Korea satisfy its end of the deal after strong United States sales of Korean-made Kia and Hyundai Motors motivated the decision.

Auto Assembly is going Twitter crazy this week and letting itself open to all manner of weird and wonderful questions about this year's convention when we are holding a live Q&A Panel on our Twitter page where you'll be able to ask the organisers ANY question you like about this year's convention!

If you want to know more about the events we have planned this year, want to know about our guests or just have any general questions about the convention itself, just pop along and subscribe to our Twitter page for all the latest updates on the convention over at www.twitter.com/auto_assembly and post your question (and don't forget to mention us in your tweet!). One of our team will be monitoring the tweets throughout the day and will reply as soon as possible and we'll be as honest as possible and we promise to reply to EVERYONE!

The Q&A Panel will be taking place on Friday, 20th January 2012 from 9:00 am GMT so pop over to Twitter at any time and join us!

For more information on this year's convention, taking place at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel in Birmingham, England over the weekend of 3rd - 5th August 2012, visit the website at www.autoassembly.org.uk where you can book your tickets now. If you’re looking for ways to help us promote this year’s convention then now you can as we’re proud to announce the release of this year’s poster for Auto Assembly 2012! The artwork has been produced for us by our in-house artist Ed Pirrie and you can download it below. Please feel free to print it off and distribute it to any sci-fi stores or comic shops near where you live, post it on any websites or forums that you visit, share it on facebook, Twitter or anywhere else that you think people may be interested!

We’ll also be releasing this shortly as a double-sided flyer with additional information about the convention on the rear and if you want copies of this to distribute, please get in touch with us at contact@autoassembly.org.uk with your name, address, where you’ll be able to get them distributed and – most importantly – how many flyers you want and we’ll get them sent out as soon as we get them printed. We’re hoping to get these distributed to stores all over the UK and sent out by all of our dealers who will be attending the convention this year, as well as handed out at as many events as possible between now and August so if you can help, please let us know.

Anyway, feel free to download the file below. Just click on the picture below for the full size image.

Auto Assembly is proud to announce that we are once again going to be joined by fan favourite, artist and writer Nick Roche. Nick will be joining us at the convention for the fourth successive year and will be taking part in panels, signing autographs and sketching for fans all weekend and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about his work.

Nick will be joining his Wreckers co-conspirator James Roberts for a special IDW Panel that we will be holding on the Sunday but we are sure that there will be a few other events that he will be involved with during the weekend...

Hot on the heels of announcing the return of Nick Roche to Auto Assembly, we are proud to announce another comic guest for Auto Assembly 2012...

We will be joined by comic artist Jeff Anderson who will be known to Transformers fans for his extensive work on the Marvel UK comics. Fans have asked us for several years to bring Jeff to Auto Assembly and he will be making his debut at the convention this year.

In addition to Transformers, he has also worked on Death’s Head, Knights of Pendragon, Mys-tech Wars, the graphic novels The Shadow's Edge and The Cutting Edge and an adaptation of The Bible. Eight Weeks Until Auto Assembly 2012

It's hard to believe that we are now just eight weeks away from Auto Assembly 2012, Europe's Largest Transformers Convention. It feels as if Auto Assembly 2011 has barely been behind us, but with the convention nearly upon us we wanted to give everyone a reminder that the convention is fast approaching and that tickets are selling faster than ever this year and that we are on target for a total sell out!

We're now entering our "rush period" for ticket sales - the time of the year where we traditionally sell over 50% of our tickets for Auto Assembly - so if you haven't already booked up, now is the time so you don't miss out. If you still haven't made up your mind, check out the website for all of the details about this year's event or watch the first part of our recap video on our youtube channel here:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nign7-lENd0

and you can see our current trailer video here:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWy4HPlZT80

With seventeen guests, our biggest ever line-up of dealers, a massive new four-star venue, great free gifts for attendees including a magazine, lithograph and comic, what more could you ask for?

Auto Assembly 2012 is located in Birmingham in the centre of the UK so it's easy to get to from all parts of the country. If you are travelling from anywhere in Europe, there are affordable flights from most of Europe to Birmingham International Airport (which is on the same site as the convention hotel) and for those of you who are travelling from further afield, flights to the UK are a lot more affordable than you might think...

Registration for the full weekend (which includes access to EVERY part of the convention including all our workshops, panels and free autographs with no additional charges) is just £45 for adults and hotel accommodation is just £50 a night for a single room or £60 for a twin or double making the convention affordable for everyone!

We'll be bringing you a lot more updates over the next few weeks as the convention draws closer including great news about our displays, dealers, the cosplay competition and we'll be announcing the return of our Non-Attendee Package for those of you who can't make it. We may even be bringing you some news about Auto Assembly 2013...

For more details on Auto Assembly 2012 which is taking place over the weekend of 3rd - 5th August 2012 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel or to book your tickets or find out information about booking dealers tables, visit the website at http://www.autoassembly.org.uk

Hope to see you there!

Auto Assembly 2012 Kitbash Workshop Details Released

We have had a kitbash workshop at Auto Assembly for the last few years but as we are moving the convention to a new home for 2012, we wanted to do something special this year and bring all of you a brand new, improved workshop as part of Europe's Largest Transformers Convention so we've teamed up with Calloway Customs to do something brand new which we think you'll all love...

This “Blue Peter” style presentation will last approximately one hour, and will focus on how to change a stock Hasbro toy into a different character, using all the tools and tricks of the trade available. Discussing paint removal, disassembly and cleaning, spray / paint preparation and application, wheel removal, head replacement, decal application and much more.

Presented by Nick Calloway, the designer behind the popular Calloway Customs Shapeway store, and Botcon award winner Sid Beckett. This workshop will be backed up by a full “how to..." bullet-point refresher guide on the Auto Assembly website and a video of the presentation so you can follow along at home.

“We wanted to do something similar to the custom workshops other conventions offer," said Nick Calloway, “without the practical difficulties of sixty people fighting over two soldering irons, against the clock. In this workshop you will learn all the skills you need so you can attempt a true custom in the comfort of your own home at your own pace."

The limited edition convention exclusive upgrade kits themselves will be available to purchase at the convention and will be available to pre-order shortly from Calloway Custom Designs exclusively for convention attendees!

For more details on Auto Assembly 2012 which is taking place over the weekend of 3rd - 5th August 2012 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel or to book your tickets or find out information about booking dealers tables, visit the website at http://www.autoassembly.org.uk
