Auto Assembly 2014 Ticket Bookings Are Open!

Despite us still working on this year's event, we’ve been inundated with emails and messages over the last few weeks here at Auto Assembly HQ about Auto Assembly 2014. Many of you are – for one reason or another – unable to join us at the convention this year and have been asking us not only what the date is for Auto Assembly 2014 but when tickets will be going on sale. At the same time, we’ve seen a lot of talk online about next year’s event and it’s clear to us that there are a lot of people planning on making their return to the event to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Transformers with us…

So bearing that in mind we’ve listened to all of you demanding that we make tickets available for next year’s convention sooner rather than later so we are proud to announce that bookings for Auto Assembly 2014 are open NOW! Auto Assembly 2014 will be taking place over the weekend of Friday 8th – Sunday 10th August 2014 and once again it will be held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel in Birmingham, England. While we can’t reveal too much about the convention yet, we can confirm that we have already signed a number of guests to appear already, many of whom will be revealed at Auto Assembly 2013.

However, we can tell you that we will be bringing no fewer than FOUR overseas guests to the UK next year. Who will they be? Well, you’ll have to wait until 10th August 2013 to find out more…

Once again we have arranged special room rates for our attendees at the Hilton which are £53 a night for single rooms and £64 a night for twin/double rooms inclusive of breakfast and details of these will be available very shortly. As with Auto Assembly 2013, we expect the convention block to sell out very quickly so we strongly recommend booking sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment if you want to stay on site!

To book your tickets, go to the Auto Assembly website now! We look forward to seeing all of our old friends again next year and plenty of new ones and hopefully many of you next weekend at Auto Assembly 2013!

If you haven't booked for this year, tickets are still available for this year from the website as well and this is set to be one of the best Transformers fan events of the year! So remember, pre-registrations close on Thursday 1st August 2013!

Auto Assembly 2013 is Europe's largest Transformers convention and is taking place over the weekend of 9th - 11th August 2013 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel. To book your tickets or find out more including details of all the dealers attending, all of our guests and a full schedule for the weekend, visit the website at http://www.autoassembly.org.uk

Hope to see you all in August!

Yeah, I'm attending my first Auto Assembly this year.

I'll be the grumpy northerner quietly judging people from the bar.

We are thrilled to announce that in 2014, Auto Assembly will once again be graced by renowned Transformers Author, Jim Sorenson!

Jim has worked with IDW since 2006 and has been the pen behind many pieces of great Transformers literature such as, The Ark (1 and 2), The AllSpark Almanac (1 and 2), The Art of Transformers Prime and The Transformers 30th Anniversary Collection. He has also leant his talents to several projects outside of the Transformers Universe (debatably!) such as the much lauded GI:Joe Field Manuals.

Jim’s latest offering, Transformers Legacy: The Art of Transformers Packaging (compiled with longtime co-creator, Bill Forster) is scheduled for a May 2014 release. Be sure to pre-order a copy and bring it with you to Auto Assembly to be signed by the man himself! We have attached the link below.

As ever, you can follow Jim’s updates on his blog, Disciples of Boltax:

http://boltax.blogspot.co.uk

Jim will be joining us for Auto Assembly 2014, which will take place on 8th – 10th August 2014 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel. Order your tickets now to join us in celebrating 30 years of the Cybertronians!

Its less than £30 for a weekend, so if that is expensive to you....

Day tickets are under £20 I believe.

I had my fill the last 2 years, i'm going this year to hang out in the bar for a day and catch up with a few close friends, I dont plan to buy a ticket, not worth it to me. But if the guests appeal to you, its 3 and a half months away, plenty of time to save.

Ironically ive travelled down from Manchester the last 2 years and done the same exact thing. Glad somebody will be there representing grumpy northerners

Website says £55 for a weekend ticket, which admittedly still isn't a lot...but is more than the comic cons I've been to in the past few years. The deal with the Hilton is actually pretty good, although I dread to think what the bar prices will be. Then there's travel and spending money. That last one will be the real killer. I can save up, sure, and it's my 30th a week or two prior, so I'll be able to afford it. More looking for any folks previous experiences to sell me on the show.

Auto Assembly 2014 Updates - Artist Alley and ReGeneration One Creative Team

PostPosted: Thu May 15, 2014 3:54 am
by Va'al
The updates from Auto Assembly, Europe's largest Transformers convention, have kept coming in! In the last couple of days, two major announcement have been made: first off, the core creative team behind IDW Publishing's Transformers: ReGeneration One comics series will all be returning as guests, and that includes Simon Furman, Andrew Wildman, Stephen Baskerville and John-Paul Bove; Jason Cardy, the cover colourist, will also be attending, as part of the newly created Artist Alley at the convention, along with (for now) Kat Nicholson, Liam Shalloo and Kris Carter. Check out more below, and head here for even further information!

Image

We’re more than a little enthusiastic to announce that we are going to be joined this year by the entire creative team behind Regeneration One! Yes, once again writer Simon Furman, artist Andrew Wildman, inker Stephen Baskerville and colourist John-Paul Bove will all be in attendance along with cover colourist Jason Cardy who will be in our new Artists Alley that we have introduced for Auto Assembly 2014 and not only will they be around throughout the convention to meet fans, sign autographs and sketch for all of you (although we’re not too sure how many of you would be asking Simon Furman for sketches!), all five of them will be taking to the stage for a special Regeneration One themed panel.

As you can imagine with Regeneration One coming to a close, this is going to be a fantastic opportunity to celebrate with us what has been a rollercoaster ride as the team close a monumental comic series.

Image

We’re always on the lookout for new ideas to introduce to the convention here at Auto Assembly, especially this year as we celebrate 30 years of Transformers so starting with Auto Assembly 2014 we are pleased to present the launch of Auto Assembly’s brand new Artists Alley…

As you’d expect, this is a new area we are setting aside at the convention to allow artists to showcase their work, sell original artwork, sketch for attendees and more but for this year we’re doing something rather special as the area is going to be a special All-Star Artists Alley! This year it is going to be playing host to nothing but professional comic artists who will be selling some of their original work, other projects they are involved with and, of course, sketching throughout the convention weekend.

The UK is warming up (before drowning in floods again), and its biggest Transformers convention reveals their new, exclusive, attendee-only lithograph, with artwork by Auto Assembly's resident artist Ed Pirrie! The piece is a massive A2 size (16.5 x 23.4 in), and will be given free at registration until stocks last - check it out below!

We’ve been keeping this one under wraps for a while, but after a two year gap we’re incredibly excited to announce that once again we’re bringing you all a convention exclusive lithograph for Auto Assembly 2014 as we celebrate 30 years of Transformers and best of all, we’re giving this litho print away absolutely FREE!

This is an absolutely stunning limited edition A2 sized print and features a wide range of characters from the last 30 years of Transformers and has been illustrated by Auto Assembly in-house artist and AA2014 guest Ed Pirrie. The litho is limited to a print run of just 1,250 copies and will not be available from anywhere else apart from Auto Assembly 2014 so if you want to get your hands on this great piece of artwork, then you will have to be at this year’s convention!!

Auto Assembly 2014 Final Guest Announced - Nick Roche

PostPosted: Tue Jun 24, 2014 4:47 pm
by Va'al
With not long left to the event, Auto Assembly 2014 has finally revealed its final guest, joining a list so long you can find it linked here - he's a writer, artist, liar and Irishman, and will be gracing the Hilton halls from his Marvel and IDW gigs: Nick Roche!

Image

NICK ROCHE

Writer and artist extraordinaire, Nick made his mark with the release of the seminal Last Stand Of The Wreckers and has worked on countless other Transformers titles since then. He also seems to have something of a personality crisis, often thinking that in reality he is Beast Wars Megatron, usually during our script readings, but the less said about that the better…
