So i wanted to put a bit background to my collecting ya know what i liked as a kid to now keeping it short
(by the way i'm drunk).
As i was born in 1982 i grew up with the classic cartoons and was lucky enough to have a nana who i was brought up by and fed my childhood addiction
as far back as i can remember my main favorites were he-man that was my first love the cartoon then the figures i had most of them even she-ra
then there was Thundercats once again a huge love for the figures and again with mask, Ghostbusters, wwf then? teenage mutant hero turtles(UK) god how i craved those turtle figures
and that's were the child hood addiction ended sadly (no more toys for christmas
I never really lost the buzz for toys all the way through my teenage years i was always in woolworths or flicking through the argos catalog thinking of an excuse to buy a figure but as a teen there was no excuse for me to bring an action figure home.
i can always remember watching the 90's animated batman , x-men , spiderman cartoons and i knew the figures were out and i wanted them so bad it was unreal especially with spiderman and that was about the age of 14- 15? the plastic crack addiction was clearly deep within me from my childhood
, during this time my brother 7 years younger was still getting action figures through the years like kenner aliens/ preadator,Gi joe, power rangers, beast wars ,biker mice from mars, mighty max,SPIDERMAN
, actionman ect which drove me insane .
Then a few years went by thinking nothing of them i think this was the time when the sega saturn and playsation came out?, i was reading comics hear and there watching a shit load of films mainly horror movies that was until me and my friend found a forbidden planet store
then that was it total meltdown, introduced to Mcfarlane toys Movie maniacs and spawn figures and we couldn't stop all those years of nothing we made up for
finally an excuse these were collector figures from movies unreal detail excellent display pieces not for kids
Then the transformers movie came out and had me thinking i don't actually remember having any transformers as a kid i remember having rocklords and watching the g1 cartoon on a Saturday morning but that was it then i found the g1 cartoons on dvd and brought the nostalgia flooding back and had me craving some transformers, it wasn't until ROTF i jumped in the deep end by then i had watched the cartoons found classics, 3rdp figures a new movie line to collect and seibertron
i don't think i could be more obsessed with anything else it's scary the amount of stuff my brain has taking in from this hobby but i love it
My other interest outside of TF at the moment are with NECA (mainly aliens /prometheus/predator/GREMLINS), Marvel universe, TMNT classics.
The end (back to drinking) . more photos in a couple of days time.(normal sized from now on)
