I think someone corrected this before, but you often confuse "size" and "scale". These are meant to scale (proportionate measure) with the MP line, which dictates their size (actual measure).

Again, these are meant to complement the MP line, which is heavily influenced by the on-screen aesthetics. Voyager versions, would not work when trying to match MP scale. Different sculpting, a la the FP insecticons would not work because they differ quite a bit from the on-screen characters. To me, these look like the Insecticons stepped out of the TV, so they achieved their goal.

I won't argue that he FP insecticons have great sculpts ... they do! I have them, I like them. But they are certainly done in a "neo" style that works better with a classics collection than an MP collection.
