Bay OUT, Spielberg IN

Postby Conceptron » Sun Jul 22, 2007 2:18 pm

Please, can we get Spielberg to give us a proper Transformers film that is not a complete gag-fest. I beg you....Bayformers cannot be called a film at all...the ILM infused robots and great voice acting saved this movie. Get Spielberg in there instead of Bay. At least Spielberg knows how to make a proper film, which Transformers deserves.

the closest you'll get to Spielberg directing Transformers will be when he decides to overhaul Bay's Transformers by removing all the guns and replacing them with walkie-talkies and putting the film through a blue filter.

LOL! You get a cookie for that!

Anyway, to the original poster:

GET OVER IT! Stop whining, your anti-bay opinion doesnt matter anymore. The film is a huge success with the fandom and at the box office so OBVIOUSLY Bay KNOWS how to make a "proper" money-making blockbuster.

And stop calling this movie or its protagonists Bayformers. It's childish refusing to call them TransFormers. They simply are TransFormers, no matter how you put it. They might not be as G1 as you would've liked, but the movie franchise is a good different take on the universe of Robots in Disguise.

We seriously need a thread for bitching and put it all in there.

These threads of "I love" and "I hate" are getting ridiculous.

You guys are just so happy to see Transformers done well in Live Action form that you see past Bay's horrendous directing and the poor plot. Watch it again, and it SUCKS! It's all about those bots. Bayformers is a big THUMBS DOWN! Keep the jokes well away....

No actually we are pleased that we got a really good, high-octane, faithful to its origins great live action transformers movie. You are an idiot if youthink thats the only reason we like the film.

Now go bitch someplace else cos the whole "bayformer" hate BS is really old now. The film has proved all of your kind wrong so by continueing to beat this dead horse you just make yourselves look even more idiotic.

Dude did you see the same film as the rest of us? Or were you just sitting on a dildo the whole film?

You seem to have a really angry attitude. They jokes were funny, they fit the film and the all the robots looked awesome (in my opinion better than G1) I know you are only having your say and thats allowed...but you couldn't be more wrong. Besides i rate Bay over Speilberg anyday!

So is it the movie itself you don't like? Because apart from the saturation of human characters and not enough characterization of the Decepticons, particularly Starscream, the movie was great. It's what got me back into Transformers after 10 years of dormancy.

Oh yes, and the fight scene between Bumblebee and Barricade was way too confusing. I would also have liked Megatron to annhilate entire armies rather than just devastate a city. There should have been way more human casualties. There should have been many more soldiers fighting the Transformers, not just one battalion.

Otherwise, Megatron's fusion cannon and Prime's ion blaster gave me (pleasant) shivers when they used them. Just awesome.

^ that cracked me up!!

But to the first guy....So what the movie had flaws, and you couldn't get the original character development that the series did because it was a 2.5 hour movie not a whole season of episodes...There was a lot of human screen time but it was a live action flic. all in all the cgi was amazing and the fight scenes were great.

Isn't that all that matters?

To hire Spielberg alone to make a Transformers movie? NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All adaptation he made may have turned out to be major blockbusters, but they were so far from the original story, that nobody was able to recognize them. Jurassic Park? Hell, Spielberg read only the first part of the book? The second half is so, that you won't recognize it! War of the Worlds? The only thing common with the book are the tripods, nothing else. The aliens, the invasion, the originations, places, nothing.

If you want Trypticon to turn into a toaster, and Unicron to be an AI made by Earth scientists, hire Spielberg.

Bayformers? I'm so sick and tired of this phrase. I want to vomit everytime I see it.

These are the same TransFormers we grew up with and they've been bettered by the film. A touch of Bay's sensibilities are here and there, you can tell, but to call them Bayformers when these are clearly TransFormers? No.

You're being whiny and prickish at this point, it's getting old and ridiculous.

Just come to terms that it wasn't the fanwank you wanted and move on. Just move on, and shut the hell up about it. Geez.

Hi Conceptron, I think you need to watch the video in which Spielberg says "Michael Bay was born to do transformers"

You're thread is pretty much trumped by that, away you go. G1 will always be here, this movie isn't removing it from our past, so you are welcome to enjoy G1 still, you can ignore this movie and all it's news, no worries.

Don't bother arguing with Conceptron. He just floats around boards posting the same garbage, trying to initiate flame wars, taking whatever you say and adding a negative spin to it and then starts calling you non-fans, followed by how much Transformers is all about Decepticons etc etc, and usually doesn't read peoples replies, and likes to tell people that they are just avoiding the truth. It's the same old crap.

I love watching both extremes(the "THIS MOVIE SUCKS!" and "THIS MOVIE IS PERFECT!" sides) duking it out.

If this weren't the internet, something tells me many of these threads would end something like this:
