Sabrblade wrote:Tronus, a big factor in the new toys for Rhinox, Waspinator, and Rattrap is their being featured in IDW's Dark Cybertron storyline. At this point, Dinobot has not appeared in it and hasn't given any signs of him going to. The whole Generations Thrilling 30 line is a tie-in to the IDW G1 comics, and if someone like Dinobot were to be getting a new toy, it would be more than obvious to have him just as heavily featured in the comics. Yet, he is not featured at all in there.
And a TCC exclusive, dude. The Club operates under its own agenda separate from Hasbro's plans. They can do whatever they want to so long as Hasbro approves. Your Rampage argument is invalid since he is not a Generations Thrilling 30 toy, nor even a mass retail figure at all.Tronus_Rex wrote:Protoform X [Rampage] isn't in Dark Cybertron yet either,

...But he is a 2014 incentive figure.
Nor did that toy even come to pass. Stolen prototypes of unreleased figures can't help ya here.Tronus_Rex wrote:Beast Wars Megatron isn't in Dark Cybertron yet:

And the mobile game event has nothing to do with that prototype toy since Megs is in his original Beast Wars body design in the game instead of the Grimlock body design.Tronus_Rex wrote:...he is in the Transformers Legends Mobile Game - Beast Wars Event. The Mobile game is more important to Hasbro right now than IDW, this given the focus on the digital mediums.
Um, no.Tronus_Rex wrote:Saying it will likely not happen, or, it's slim, I cannot agree. IDW is not as important a priority, given, IDW is a paper based/hard copy 1st, & digitally distributed 2nd. Video Games, on consoles, PC/Mac, & Mobile are now more of a focus.
The mobile game just does whatever it wants and runs with it. It is not a sign of things to come. At all.Tronus_Rex wrote:You can expect the Hub's 2014 TF series to also be released on a streaming service & likely iTunes as well. The characters you said were in Dark Cybertron are all on the mobile, including BW Meg's and Dino', who are not in Dark Cybertron. Rampage - well, he is an incentive figure out of convienience.

"Across our business, we are increasing our focus on our most important initiatives while right sizing our cost base," continued Goldner. "We have expanded our digital gaming capabilities with the acquisition of 70% of Backflip Studios, a profitable mobile game studio. Importantly, we are developing comprehensive and innovative lines for both film and television entertainment in the coming years, including TRANSFORMERS 4 in 2014 as well as MARVEL and STAR WARS entertainment from Disney in 2014, 2015 and beyond."

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

At the same time, though, Tronus - please also avoid a patronising tone when discussing with other users.
The thread can be kept open to discuss, nicely, the potentiality of a Dinobot figure to appear in the near future, given the precedent of other beast-based modes part of the Thrilling 30th line.
I doubt it, for the reason givens above, but speculation is fine!
As for the games point, the new videogame is based on the Age of Extinction film, Metroplex is both a tie-in for the FoC game (which yes, was successful, no one is denying that!) and the IDW comics, including the current Dark Cybertron event. Also, as Sabrblade has pointed out, the mobile game has very little to do with Hasbro at all - except for the license.
To put it more clearly: the three current focuses are the movie line, with Age of Extinction, its toys and videogame; the Aligned continuity, with WfC, FoC and Prime; the IDW 'G1' continuity, from the -ations to Dark Cybertron. As an appendix, ReGeneration One, which has little influence on the other aspects of the franchise so far.

Bad news, I hope your wallet is incapable of having heart attacks, as they're pretty steep. Here's the first one for about $125, and here's the second auction, and it's going for a whopping $200.
