Thanks but no thanks. I can understand Drones in WFC, but in prehistoric Earth + Beast Wars? It would just be boss battles the entire game. Even if they used characters from the Beast Wars toyline, I just don't feel that they can pull the same style that has made WFC successful. It would be a step backwards.

But now I'm a bit disappoint. Partially because I might be the only person in this section who owns the PS1 and N64 Beast Wars games, and partially because people are bashing Beast Wars. It's hands down the best written Transformers on American tv. Animooted can't hold a candle to it, and in terms of story and character development the original toon can't either.

A) I HAVE beast wars for the PS1, and beast wars transmetals for PS1 and N64 (2 VERY different games)

B) This is not a debate about the tv shows, its a debate about weather or not beast wars would make a good WFC style game

C) If you have both versions of beast wars games, you have to admit they are subpar, right?

Naw. The Adventure game is subpar. The Fighting games are actually pretty good for PS1/N64 era fighters. They could be better, but it's pretty fun to play especially with a bunch of fightan freaks.

Also I loved The Gathering and the Pre-Earth Beast Wars comics, so as long as we got an awesome cast and the game was in the same style of WFC I'd play it. Hell, I don't see why High Moon doesn't make Beast Wars guys in pre-Earth alts as DLC for this game.

I can't see a Beast Wars game working out well because I don't see the animal transformations being a cool enough gimmick.

Transforming works better when you transform into a vehicle to get more mobility. Animals seem like they were chosen because the toy designers were running out of vehicles. You can only do so many cars before somebody starts getting sick of seeing yet another car.

I don't even like the Dinobots for that same reason, even if Grimlock is a popular character.

If anything I would actually like to see a version of Transformers set in 1944 instead of 1984, though I would highly doubt something like that would ever happen.

But, my original argument probably should be considered. I think a 1984 G1 game is needed first.

Well, I think something all of these games are lacking so far is the element of disguise.

In War for Cybetron, transformation is generally for increased speed and mobility...but it's not like the other team is mistaking you for anything but an enemy.

Likewise, a giant rat, gorilla, or tyrannosaurus rex racing across a battlefield isn't fooling anyone either.

That being said, I could imagine having fun playing a Beast Wars game if the beast modes added a variety of attacks or skills. I think the biggest problem would be redundancy in alternate modes. Watching a platoon of Autobot tanks descend on a Decepticon position might simply look a lot cooler than watching a platoon of Maximal primates jump on top of a Predacon base.

Addendum::
Should we call it War FUR Cybertron?
