Gah! Polite Rated X! That catches me off guard a bit... Makes me retroactively feel like a bit of an arsehole from the tone I used. (I think I was posting from a snarky frame of mind, just automatically thinking of it as a "tone for conversations with Rated X." Sorry 'bout that!)

Anyway, sadly I've not shipped mine yet. (So glad I belatedly remembered that post from page 4 with someone else's photos.) Still waiting on something else currently in my Source Stack, and then I'll still technically be about $23 short of the threshold for free shipping... But I want him enough that I may just throw something else in my order to make up that difference. Do you think the Cap Bots Optimus Prime would be worth having? I've been eyeing it as a possibility...

Anyway, once I do have it, I plan on writing a new review for my website covering Metroplex, his Reprolabels, the Mega Moon Man knees and ramp pieces (I skipped the fists), and of course Six Sigma.

I'm not used to photographing two foot tall toys! Hope I'm able to get good and detailed photos of something at that scale. (It actually seems like detailed photos may be trickier, since I'll have to take them from more of a distance, or just not include the entire toy in frame... Perhaps I'll do a combination of both of those?)

Im only rude to the people who are rude to me. Youve been pretty cool with me lately so Im being cool with you. Even if we dont always see eye to eye, I have no issues with you. I always appreciate your feedback and pics. Youre also very good at applying reprolabels. Looking foward to your review. Im most likely gonna chance it with the red arms.

Ha ha, I will say that Metroplex's were a bitch and it took me a few days to finish... with a few more days in between because after the first day I just needed a break from them! Particularly bothersome was when I dropped one small sicker inside of his chest! And the only way to retrieve it was to disassemble Metroplex's upper body! I suppose, though, that once he was in pieces it was a bit easier with further stickers, not having to manipulate the entirety of Metroplex while applying stickers to his various bits.

Once they all were applied, however... he looks pretty awesome!

Since Six Sigma comes with his own stickers, and since I have some extra faction symbols lying around to make up for that obvious omission, I likely won't be waiting on Reprolabels for him, unless they happen to come out before I can ship my Six Sigma, and they look freakin' awesome. (Not sure if they will do a set for him... They already did a set for the TFC version. But they have done competing third party products before, such as doing both the G3 trailer and the BTS trailer for Classics Prime.)

One of the reviews says that six sigma only comes with labels for one of metroplexes black guns that attach to his arms. So thats something you may want to consider that before you apply them to the 1st black gun.

Ive done some pretty extensive reprolabeling myself. Ive tackled the FP bruticus and G3 trailer sets which were a bitch. But my greatest achievement is the enhancement set for G1 full tilt that comes with trypticon. That set is a real challenge. I nailed it but it was not easy. Looking foward to getting the uranus set. Still scared to death to touch deisel but eventually Ill work with him. I also gave city commander, defender, assualter, and protector the repro treatment. Those flames on protector look great, haven't transformed him since.

Yes, I saw that. Kind of a foolish omission. But since I have Reprolabels on those guns already, I wasn't worried about that personally. I'll use Six Sigms's stickers on his own parts only, and skip their stickers for the black guns.

Rated X wrote:Ive tackled the FP bruticus...

I just recently got those ones, myself! I was a bit worried, since I have the Asian Exclusive Combaticons and the recent(ish) recolored reissue of the Fansproject upgrades, so I wasn't sure how well the colors on the stickers would match. But overall, I think he looks awesome with his stickers!

Rated X wrote:...and G3 trailer sets which were a bitch.

I didn't think the G3 Trailer was that troublesome.

Rated X wrote:But my greatest achievement is the enhancement set for G1 full tilt that comes with trypticon. That set is a real challenge. I nailed it but it was not easy.

I envy you that. I'd love to have some of the G1 Citybots. I had Metroplex as a kid, but of course back then I had this silly habit of playing with my toys. Which, admittedly, I still do... but in a much more careful, not-destroying-them-in-the-process fashion. Never had Tripticon. I had a friend who did, and he seemed cool. And the Reprolabel upgrade stickers for both look quite cool. Before Generations Metroplex was announced, I was considering trying to get my hands on a G1 one again... But while he'd still be cool to have, I think I'll just stick with the new version. The old one frankly wouldn't fit in with most of my collection.

Rated X wrote:Still scared to death to touch deisel but eventually Ill work with him.

Well, until then, do feel free to continue to enjoy my pretty pictures! Image

Rated X wrote:I also gave city commander, defender, assualter, and protector the repro treatment. Those flames on protector look great, haven't transformed him since.

I don't have Assualter. Although, while obviously not really Transformers accurate, I kind of regretted not picking him up when I saw the Macross homage sticker set Reprolabels made for him.

I personally didn't like the look of the photo-realistic flame stickers for Protector. Fortunately, they were nice enough to make those a separate (and thus optional) purchase. The stickers I do have for him made him look great. Same goes for City Commander and Defender.

This is all a wee bit off topic, though... Should we start a Reprolabels appreciation thread, where people can post photos of their stickered-up toys and gush about how great they look? (Only have joking with that question... If you think it is a topic people might enjoy, I'm all for it. And you can share some photos of your awesome sounding Tripticon!)

A few photos of the black armed version I'm swiping from the TFW2005 forums:

...to which I have to say, wow. This makes me rather glad that it is the red armed version I have on order. Maybe it is a trick of the camera, and it looks better in person. But if I were to judge purely based on what I see in these photos, then I'd say that the darker of the two shades of red that this version of Six Sigma sports looks really bad paired with Metroplex. It just looks really off to me, especially on the guns made from Six Sigma's legs.

Yeah the two-toned guns is what made me swap to the red arms version.

Yotsuya if you're not using the black gun stickers from your set, I may be willing to take them off your hands to have two sets of stickers.

Well, 'tis not as if I have mine in hand yet... Alas, that shall probably be a little while. And who knows if, once I do, I'll somehow find a use for them? I feel it unlikely, but one never knows. So I don't wish to commit to anything at this point. But if I do find that I will not be using them, I will try and keep you in mind.

No problems, I don't have mine in hand yet either. I'm waiting for Talon to come in before shipping.

I got the black-arms version and I was NOT prepared for how... big he really was. I watched videos and pics, but in hand? And he is well-built, too.
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.
