I wouldn't mind the Classics part of the set.
So Ill ether have to ask someone to pre-order the set for me and and then just sell off the SG part, or order the Classics part of the internet and other sources.

Also, I'm starting to laugh right now at all the outcry of the set featuring Shattered Glass, because half of those people will buy the KOs later while complaining about the secondary market price and that they should have been mass market toys.

overlord? My solid guess is animated voyager sized Blitzwing with a new head sculpt. because animated blitzwing has a jet & tank mode.

Heroic Treadshot (This one stumps me. I had to go to TFU.info to even see what he'd look like. Plus, will they use gold chrome, or potentially disastrous gold plastic?)

Overlord (Yeah, this one's making me go all WTF? I can't think of a figure that could accurate represent this guy.)
Metalhawk (Had to go to the Wiki for this one. According to them, he was based on a gunformer. So, my guess is it'll be a redeco/remold of Classics Megatron.)

An odd choice of characters and molds.

This set is definitely going to have a bit of something for everyone in it. That being said, I think it's going to be one of the most flipped sets of all time. Good for bringing a group of friends together to split up a box set, while making it harder for a scalper to cash in on box sets.

Those bag sets though? Those are growin wings, baby.

With six in a box, it leads me to wonder exactly how they plan on sardining this one together. Are they all deluxes? God, the rage over a deluxe Overlord would be epic. Nice to get an extra figure in the non attending this year.

Also, good to hear about the custom class doubling it's size. Even though I'm not going, it's nice to know that some people that actually show an interest in customizing have more of a shot to get in and carve up flash. My bank account is praying real hard it's not another G2 Sideswipe/Thunderdome scenario. I'm talking Pentecostal tongues.

Wondering what the freebie is, and the attendee exclusives too, but what's really got me scratching my head is the dealer exclusive. Has this always been going on? I don't ever recall reading about this in prior Botcons. Maybe they're leftover tuner mudflaps that wouldn't fit in the desert tomb shared with all those ET atari games from the eighties. Look it up. It happened.

No Treadshot is the gunformer, Metalhawk is a jet.

I hope there aren't too many Classics figures at the Con, I can stumock buying maybe four. I have to buy Runamuck and Runabout after all.

I bet Overlord will be a Thunderwing repaint. It fits perfectly, with a retooled hand holding the little jet like the G1 figure.

Well the whole SG idea seems lazy, and they are bringing it back into the BOXED set for the 2nd time. Not a whole fan of it, but I do like the classics molds.

I live in Asia, so i'm probably getting the Iacon pack. It costs around $350 for non-members. Is it any cheaper as a member?

My guess would be this set has 5 deluxes + 1 voyager...

The only voyager being Overloard. For some reason i feel he would be either classics jetfire or cybertron CDT Scattershot. Although both molds have appeared in boxedsets before...

Agreed with this one...that mold would've been a good matchup for the SG Prime they released a long while back. RtS G2 Optimus just looks so puny in comparison.

The only one I'm really wanting from this lot is Soundwave sadly enough, and I know that's the one that'll go for insane money on the secondary market. :\

Botcon tweeted earlier this month that there is no Animated this year and no AEC figures either.

Since we're getting a SG Soundwave, of course and hoping we get SG RTS Rumble and Frenzy as an add-on set!!! Especially since these were almost impossible to get a hold of!!!

Just because it's not really feasible doesn't mean it wouldn't be cool.

Personally, I hope the SG figures are painted in such a way that non-SG fans like myself can use them for other classics characters. Hence the Diaclone colors on Ultra Magnus instead of a purple and black “evil” paint scheme. Maybe since Tracks was blue, they will flip him to opposite red allowing him to be Road Rage in a classics collection. Remember the “Shattered Glass” 2 pack from last year was really G1 colors. They used the action master colors for Thundercracker and Galvatron was done in traditional G1 colors, not some red and white reverse paint scheme.

Here's some hints as to what molds will (or won't) be used for this year's exclusives. According to BotCon's Twitter, there will be no molds from the Unicron Trilogy (or anything before it), Animated, or the main Movie toylines (Movie 1, ROTF, and DOTM, specifically).

That leaves only Generations, TF 2010/RtS, maybe PCC, Universe 2008, and Classics toy molds to be used for this year (it's too early to use the Prime toy molds, they don't really use much Japanese-only stuff, and they don't use the complex stuff like Alternators or Alternity).

Every year since 2005 has had AEC. 2012 is the first year NONE. Does this make you happy or sad?

I was a TFCC member for around 3 years. that $415 non-members botcon gift set,also includes a one year membership to the club. so you get the botcon gift set for $415 plus you get a one subscription of 6 magazines plus your entitled to the freebie club toy.

So we're largely restricted to Classics-style molds, as always. At least for the box set. My guesses? I think this should be moved to the Toy Forum at this rate

Wow. That's quite the anti-climax. Not sure it lives up to the hype that was being built up. Overlord: yes. As a complete set: Uber money saved.

I'm just throwing it out there, but I think Generations Warpath would make a good Treadshot. It's a bit of a departure I know but I think the slim and basic robot mode would work really well. Universe Cyclonus as Metalhawk sounds like a good call. Given the limited range of figures being used for the set I can't think of anything that would satisfy my Overlord desires.
