I walked over to the display case around 3pm today and they still hadn't put this out in the glass case yet (it was while mostly everyone was in the Hasbro panel where they no doubt unveiled it). But after the Hasbro panel wrapped I tried walking back over there and their was a constant flurry of activity and a small crowd photographing it until the sales floor closed so I still havn't gotten a close look just yet, but I hope to check it out better tommorow morning. Hopefully the crowd will be diminished a little in general (and the wheeling and dealing can begin with the various vendors as well). I plan on getting this though, $100 is way more feasable.

Thank the TOY GODS!!!

To think I've been debating on shelling out $250+ for Takara's the last few days. HASBRO this almost makes up for the FE Prime debacle. This will stand proud next to Hot Rod and Grimlock... haven't missed a TRU exclusive yet.

Now, two questions I will throw out there in relation to this news....

1) WHEN?!? I'm shocked no one asked that.

2) speculativr question... What's the likelihood Sideswipe is coming too?? I read an interview on here that Hasbro & Takara are taking tje Masterpiece Collection in a new direction. Hopefully that means a steady stream of Masterpiece figures in the future.

Hell, Barbie gets $50-150 dolls on the shelf ALL THE TIME, surely Transformers and their collectors are every bit as ravenous and dedicated as Barbie collectors. LOL ... MAKE THEM AND WE WILL BUY HASBRO!!!

I feel really bad for those of us who paid the TakaraTomy price. $250.00+ and this one's rumored to be $100.00? Ouch.

I hate to see anyone get burned like that. Hopefully there's enough differences to make them happy with their purchase.

Not me.

1. Takara's versions of MP figures have held better value than US versions. Heck even my Takara import of the US version of MP-03 Starscream sold for more than the actually US version did.

2. As will probably happen with this guy many will probably not seem them at their TRU, scalpers will buy more since it is Prime, and unfortunately many will have to pay more than retail to get this one.

The $225 retail I paid did not hurt as I paid retail. What hurts is if this guy comes in at $100 and he starts selling for $175 or more.....That hurts and that is getting burned.

Good luck to those who don't currently have the Takara version and want the US one. Hopefully he is easier to find at TRU than Grimlock was for many.

When indeed. Like Rodimus last summer, I will be hitting TrU every day once they start appearing until I have one. This is my Holy Grail, my Pot o' Gold at the end of the rainbow. I must have this, I must.

Based on prior experiences, shortly after SDCC in July. Usually hits retail around the first or second week of August.

I'm glad I held off on buying the Takara version. A fully accessorised domestic version for half the price the Takara version's goign for? SO DOWN!!

I was avoiding MP-10 as I already paid a lot for Takara's MP-04 which I still consider a fantastic figure. But I've heard great things about the MP-10 mould so I may have to bite on the Hasbro version.

Are you a member of Toys R Us rewards? If you are we should be seeing some coupons by the time Prime hits.

I would prefer they'd foregone the trailer for a cheaper price point actually...

I don't mean to sound rude here, but have you actually thought this through?

Plastic is more expensive these days.
All toys are going up in price.
Masterpiece Rodimus went for $70.00 and all he had was a Targetmaster.

...we're receiving a full featured Masterpiece figure, his trailer (which is an item so many have clamored for), plus ALL of the Japanese accessories, which usually never happens...all for about $100.00

You want them to sell you a Masterpiece with all of these add ons, for the same price as a lackluster, incomplete Masterpiece, and you think that's okay?

I'm sorry, but that's just rude. That's just demanding way too much. If I were Hasbro, I'd be insulted. $70.00 for this? That's just not possible.

For the love of heaven! Please quit bellyaching about the price! US$ 100.00 is a verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry fair price! Anything less is simply criminal!

I own the Japanese version, which is 3x the cost, I ain't complaining! Be thankful Hasbro got the price down! 3 cheers that now, other fans will be able to own one......though how Hasbro managed to add those chest/ shoulder light paint ups, make him even more cooler in appearance than MP-10. :APPLAUSE:

Now, based on the pics, seems like Hasbro is using a lighter colored plastic..........I hope the molding is neat and not like the Piranacon re-issue ( what a nightmare that was!)

I also hope Hasbro retains the die-cast parts (or maybe scraped it hence the lower price?)

100$ is too much for this guy...well ok  I paid 260€ for mine, and do I regret. Not really, for like some of you stated; even if this is going to be TRU release, it is very likely that I (like many others) wouldn't get mine anyways. We have TRU here (not in the same town where I live though), but I haven't seen there any MP releases. No Grimlock nor Rodimus. I actually even asked about Grimmy and they had no idea whatsoever. But if I happens to find this dude, then I will buy at least two of them  Well mayde just one to keep in that box.

I would be happy to pay 100$ for this toy. As an owner of takara version, I can only recommend him.

I'll say it again. Making it TrU exclusive is total bullshit because so many of us will miss out on him and we will have no choices but to pay scalper prices on Ebay.

To hell with store exclusives!

Holy Zarquan's Singing Fish! MP-10, complete, at U.S. retail? For only about $100? The Toy Goddesses have decided to show some grace and kindness to mankind. I've got an impending move in a few months, so money is a bit of an issue, and there were two rather expensive figures I was trying to decide about. (MP-10 and Green Giant.) With this news, I may just say the hell with it and go for both!

Hooray! Thank you, Hasbro! :x You suck less now! :APPLAUSE: (Just get us the FE Prime Figures, and all will be forgiven.)

While this is good news overall for the fans, I actually wanted a cheaper, trailer-less release so I could display him in both alt and bot modes since I aleady have to TT version. This is ok though-will just an extra trailer.

It's too bad the only accessory half-way worth a damn came with the cheaper US version...

If you want we can swap, I don't like the crown and would rather have the Japanese accessories.

I still can't get over how awesome this is. I figured we would never get a US release or that if we did he wouldn't have his trailer and accessories, but we get everything! I had already written off MP-10 as a figure I could never afford, but for $100 I think its a great deal and will be glad to get one as I will consider this the crowning jewel of my collection. I'm glad Hasbro chose to do this one, it gives us low budget collectors a refreshing break.

Again..............US$100.00 is a virtual steal! Trouble is, people want to own things for virtually nothing! Sometimes, there simply is no pleasing people.

For instance, I'm not bitching over the 3rd party Devys, didn't get them...........end of story(waaaaaaaay beyond my budget). I'd have wanted to get Hotrodimus too but its QCs are giving me 2nd thoughts. MP-01(1st release), well I camped out of the specialty store on 2004's Christmas Eve to get one......worth it! MP-04, skipped it due to price issues and the lack of a Roller unit. But MP-10 blew all that away, sure his optics aren't as apparent as the MP-01, he's got a bit of balancing, molding and paint issues, but overall, worth it!

People bitch about Optimus not having the trailer, well Hasbro step up to the challenge! If I were the potential buyers, we ought to pester Hasbro to make sure there will be no QC issues!

Those who will be getting this don't know how good a thing you're going to get! Again, Hasbro, please don't drop the ball with cr@ppy plastic molding/assembly,paint apps or worse.......
