I'm liking the times for the Golden Ticket stuff. This will be awesome to get ahead on these for Seibertron.com this year. Thank you BotCon for offering this!

Boy, when they say "preliminary," they sure do mean it. Bare bones with no panel times.

There's 4 things you can do. 1) E-mail the club. 2) Check for other hotels within a mile or so. 3) Keep checking the Hyatt Regency for vacancies, if they have any cancellations you might get lucky. I missed the initial block but kept checking and eventually got in. 4) See if anyone wants a roomie. If you go for option #4, post something on the club forum if you are a member there because you are more likely to get responses.

I might be game for a roomate or two of people that I have already met and know. Haven't decided yet. I've got a room reserved.

Speaking of which, did anyone get a charge on their credit card for their room reservation?

My card was in fact charged for the first night, but only maybe a week or so ago (well after they said it would be)

Epic bossman! let me know

There are alot of hotels that are very close but one thing I regret from 2010 is not staying on site.. It was such a pain lugging everything around from con, to car, back etc etc etc. I have emailed the club and posted on there facebook..I'd be willing to pay a bit extra to have the ease of staying there especially since Im driving up

The Hyatt Regency still has rooms available. The problem is they're over $200 a night, that's more than a "bit" extra.

When I was searching for rooms close by the Hyatt did pop up and they were that much. One hotel is close by(.7 miles) and is only 97 a night and Ive thought about it but they charge for extended parking not to mention parking at the con the cost would even out IMO...I'd rather pay up a couple of bucks( or $50LoL) and have the peace of mind that I dont have to get charged twice for parking my rental..

At Botcon 2006, I tried doing it cheap by staying at a Quality Inn in Lexington, KY about 2 miles away. After one night at that **** hole (complete with giant bugs, wolf spiders, broken down dirty toilets tossed outside, etc), I canceled the rest of my reservation there after that horrible experience and ended up paying the regular hotel rate to stay at the same hotel where BotCon was located. I'll never try to do that again. It's worth every penny being right where BotCon is.

This is exactly why Im hoping something opens up..Horror stories of cheap hotels.. If you want a good example, Go to the expedia.com and search for hotels close to the Hyatt. Look for the Hotel Lawrence and read their reviews..Ive sent emails to both hotel and TFCC and I give the hotel a call once a day..~crosses fingers~

Ryan, I feel for ya about that one time you mentioned, but gotta say that that must have been a one-time misfortune. For the past several years, I (or rather, my dad, since he got us the hotel rooms) have been staying in such places as Quality Inn, Comfort Inn, Holiday Inn, La Quinta Inn, and that like, for various vacations, and nearly every visit has been at least satisfactory. Not always excellent, but decent each time. I think the worst case that happened to us in recent years was when our suite in a Comfort Inn had one of the bathtub knobs break and the breakfast selection wasn't that great. But that was nowhere near as bad as that experience you've described.

As for this year, we're looking at an Econo Lodge that's not too far from the airport (and about 30 minutes from the convention, nothing else closer was affordable). While we'd love to stay at the Hyatt, it's simply well beyond our price range (as are most 5-star luxurious hotels). The only times we have ever stayed at that kind of hotel was if the occasion were so extra special it called for us to stay there. But $200 a night is a lot of money, and we don't have any spare limbs or kidneys to sell on Craigslist. :P

So, yeah, for us, staying at a decent non-rich hotel isn't so bad.

For my first BotCon, back in 2007, I stayed in a La Quinta Inn located about 2 miles from the convention. No problems with the La Quinta, but I must say that being onsite for the entire convention is well-worth the extra expense when possible. Also, if you share the room with a few people, it brings the price down a good bit. Still, staying offsite can have the addded benefit of more money leftover to spend on Transformers! :)

I got a reply from the club and from the hotel..No other blocks are being reserved as of this time( friday)..The rate on expedia is 229 a night( OUCH) One hotel i was looking into , The Crowne plaza hotel dropped it's rate down to $87 bucks a night..I'd still rather pony up some more cash LoL..I will have a rental that whole weekend so if anyone wants to get out and pick up supplies ( wink wink) :-? I'll have Transpo :)

This is the first year since I've been going (2007 in Providence, RI) that they've only had one hotel open. In fact, in 2007 they actually had FOUR. Hopefully the hotel situation will be easier next year.

The disney situation worked out nice having both hotels directly across from each other. They picked a wierd location for it this year, i would have thought the dallas convention center was a better choice..

I'm still holding out for the Hyatt..anybody lookin for a roomate , I can pony up the cash right now ..

Assuming you're a member of the club, I'd go onto the Club Forums and look for a room mate there, there often are people posting there about it. Just be careful, the last thing you want is someone stiffing you.

Thats what I was worried about. I went to the club forum and sure enough, a thread with the title "Roomates for botcon etc etc" and the first page was a few people sayin ," Stay away from so and so" " So and so will rip you off" etc etc.

While I know they are doing a good deed by warning others to crooks, it kind of makes mer stay away from the club forum. It's lookin like im gonna be off site :(

I've never been to botcon before so I'm not sure how it works.
I'm going to try to be there if I get off. My question is if I can get there on saturday will I be able to just get in, or do I need to pre-purchase and admission ticket?

Not quite able to discern which of the panels will be the Hasbro Q&A, but if there is one, then I'm actually sorry I can't go this year, 'cause that should be even more entertaining than Botcon 2000's "Beast Machines: Seriously, WTF?!?!?" theme.

So will the costume class mostly be a lesson in which potential costumes look enough like 3rd Party products to get anyone wearing them escorted from the premises? Has anyone in years past gone as Mr. Hard Hat?

You need to purchase a ticket. If you're going for Saturday only, you should probably look at this.
