Nope. So far, only the Minicon Assault team is minicon port compatible among the modern releases.

All is fair in opinions I suppose but what exactly is ugly about a near perfect G1 interpretation of Megatron?

Complain about his transformation...fine.

Say he feels fragile...fine.

Ugly? I have to assume you just don't like Megatron.

I am curious about Hegemon as I do not have any G1 interpretation of Megatron in my collection thus far. Am I better off waiting for a Masterpiece re-release or even getting the masterpiece instead of Hegemon himself ? What is the best price to value ratio in terms of G1 Meg toys? These announced figures included

Hegemon is your best bet. Masterpiece Megatron was a hot mess. You'd be better off with the United version of the Classics mold. I say the United version because it is less Nerf-ish than the Classics release. I'd still recommend you wait for one of the tank releases like Hasbro or Megasteel for a G1-ish bot mode. None of the gun Megatrons really work out well in bot mode, IMO.

I really don't think they'll do that in this case, and that they think the toy is a realization of the G1 Arcee design from 30 years ago, this release finally being a chance to get it out. It will sell, and they don't have to go tell the IDW dudes to hamfist the design in for it to do so.

Also not to dig up a dead horse but Hegemon is many things, and I've heard it called many things, but not ugly. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that, but I think that's a gorgeous toy regardless of your opinion of third parties.

The one advantage to her being a shellformer is that they can easily swap the head, put an IDW car mode shell on her, change the paint apps and sell her as the IDW version.

Stripes and Solarbot would beg to differ.

I'd say the obscurity levels of this redeco range in the same levels as the G1 GoBots redecos of those six Minibot molds, whose decos also appeared in the same early catalog as Nacelle's deco.

autobot1979 wrote:When is deluxe Stinger coming out? :D
It ain't.

No joke. They said they aren't making a Deluxe toy for Stinger. It got as far as the prototype stage, but wasn't completed.

The AOE toys are expected to last only until the end of the year, with next year's line coming in early 2015.

I guess there just wasn't room for a red Decepticon reshell of Bumblebee. *shrugs*

G1COLLECTOR wrote:To tell you the truth , The Transformers Movie Toys *(ALL JUST SUCK)!

I mean they keep making them smaller and they all look bad in both modes. I will be buying much more 3rd party and Masterpiece bots this year. :APPLAUSE:
If you're gonna hold Masterpiece and 3rd party products to the standard norm of quality, you're gonna find disappointment in everything else. No one should ever expect MP/3rd party quality in everything since those toys are designed to be above and beyond the normal levels of quality. If you raise the bar up to match the level of MP/3rd party, you're practically daring your enjoyment of everything that isn't MP/3rd party to be diminished, potentially significantly.

Now, there's nothing wrong with having high standards, but there needs to be frame of reason behind them. At the end of the day, these are children's toys, aimed at 8-year-olds. The collector may be kept in mind by Hasbro, but that demographic doesn't get the highest priority. The child demographic does. And frankly, these look like something that age group would enjoy. I myself would have been into these at that age. So there's really no logical reason to expect high-end collector-grade standards for every plaything Hasbro churns out for the youngsters. ;)

Nemesis Primal wrote:I hope there was a miscommunication somewhere and it's actually supposed to be "Beast Wars: Uprising" Tarantulas, because i checked the "Dawn of Future's Past" comic, and that really doesn't look like how Tarantulas looked in it.
That's because the body Tarantulas had in the DoFP comic was a made up one not based on an existing toy. Because of that, any toy they would have used to make a DoFP figure of him was doomed to not look like his comic body. Apparently they wanted to make a DoFP figure for him, but were outta luck with making a comic-accurate body version for him outside of Hasbro making a whole new mold, and had to make due with what they could.

But I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to use it for an Uprising version of him as well since the TCC panel had them mention that there is great potential for overlap between those two.

Really? Not even a red Bumblebee with a new head sculpt? Someone should update the TFwiki page for Stinger, because it still lists Generations deluxe Stinger as upcoming. Who said this exactly about deluxe Stinger being dropped, and is it possible they're confused? Maybe they were thinking of one of the "Robots in Disguise" figures instead?

I kinda like the megatron and he's always made sense as a tank. Though that figure makes a better armada megs representation. My biggest gripe is the cannon, it has to be chunkier to get that G1 feel. I don't have a megs for my classics and i only have a deluxe prime so megs will probably be high on the list. His head reminds me of the G1 box and other artworks more than the toon or comic.

I have masterpiece Megs and I think he's the only figure in my collection i'm afraid to try and transform. Not to mention he suffers from cosmic rust to the feet.

Optimus' robot mode proportions makes me think he's some kind of missing link between Prime and Primal.

I'm really liking what they've been doing with the legends figures but I find them too expensive or hard to get hold of.

Arcee... bit of a back pack but i don't mind. Don't care for chromia though it looks like a cool retool or prime arcee.

Brainstorm - perhaps the figure i'm interested in the most. Was one of my fave headmasters, perhaps because he had better posability than most others.
My personal prime collection so far in descending order of how great i reckon the toy is -
FE Prime, Silas Breakdown (Powerizer), Dreadwing (Powerizer), FE Bulkhead, Voyager StarScream (Powerizer), Ratchet, Soundwave, Arcee, Voyager Megatron (Powerizer), Wheeljack, Thundertron (Powerizer), Ultra Magnus (Powerizer), Knockout, Cliffjumper, Bumblebee,Airachnid

How exactly can you "call it" when they showed pictures of the two figures on the same day they announced them that already proved it?

I'm sure they will. Especially considering they would have to change the price point, packaging, and the fact that all of them, save Bombshock and Powerglide, are repaints of prior molds with holes for the minicons. Not that they couldn't retool the holes, but it just seems unlikely.

Hasbro has already said they're doing even case packs from now on. Plus they're allowing specialty stores to order cases of specific characters.

Stinger's more than just red Bumblebee. He's a completely different type of car (Pagani Huayra instead of a Chevy Camaro) His altmode would have had to be fully reshelled.

Though, he and Bee do have the same head.

Funny you should say "new packaging": Cliffjumper and Nemesis will still be part of the 2014 line, while the rest (Thundercracker, Windcharger, Bombshell and Powerglide) are slated for 2015 which will feature new packaging and possibly a new price point for Legends to go along with it.

Forget what I said about no Deluxe Stinger. It wasn't stated at a panel, but by one of the Hasbro guys at the Hasbro Booth. As it wasn't an official statement, it's probably something we aren't supposed to know of yet, and should word get out that Stinger might not get a Deluxe toy, that could get said Hasbro guy in trouble. :-$ :-$

At the panel, they showed that all of the non-AOE Generations would be including collector cards for every non-Deluxe size class (Deluxes will instead continue to come with IDW comic issues).
