Although, since it was said that Cannonball would be the only Prime mold, and Scorponok is the Energon mold, that must mean that the Voyager must be a CHUG mold since that's what was said the rest of the set's molds would be. So the guy got that right, too.

Now, let's assume that he's also right about it being a mold that's been used before (let's ignore the "power master" thing for now since that would greatly limit our options). If this last figure is a CHUG Voyager that's been used before, that leaves us with the following options:
  • The Classics Optimus Prime mold
  • The Classics Jetfire mold
  • The Universe Inferno mold
Based on these options, two guesses come to mind for what the final knight figure for the set could be:
  • Hauler from Universe Inferno (whom we even saw in last year's comic)
  • Star Saber from Classics Jetfire (based on this idea)
I didn't consider Classics Optimus as an option since, well, whatever Autobot they make out of that toy will still look like some new kind of Optimus, and that would be such a waste for as creative a convention theme as this one.

Say for instance that the clue relates to every Classis/affiliated line Voyager. We would have:

Classics:
* Optimus Prime (like Sabrblade said, pretty unlikely, and I sure as hell don't want a Powered Convoy/Diaclone homage. Thunderclash might work, emphasis on might, if deco is placed correctly [don't remind me of the previous Timelines Thunderclash])
* Jetfire (Star Saber, pretty please, FunPub?)
* Megatron (which I highly doubt they'll use, unless there's a Wings Browning that decided to switch over to the Autobots)

Universe (2008):
* Inferno

Generations:
* Springer/Sandstorm
* Blitzwing/Doubledealer

I don't know if Soundwave/blaster, Grimlock, Blaster, Rhinox, and Whirl should be considered, with Soundwave/blaster, Grimlock and Blaster being part of the Fall of Cybertron assortment, and Rhinox and Whirl being too new to use. Would the same go for Springer/Sandstorm and Blitzwing/Doubledealer, being about a year since their release?

I intentionally left out the redecoes from Universe (2008) because none of them, in technicality, follow the criteria.

Star Saber out of Jetfire may work, but I'm having reservations about the missing sword. Unless they use the Prime Star Saber for this Star Saber... how ironic is that?
The resident Rewind... well, half of one :lol:

The wait is killing me, too. And I'll have to wait through two classes I despise tomorrow before it's all said and done. :BANG_HEAD:

I will be super pleasantly surprised if it is Star Saber, or immeasurably disappointed if it's Hauler (no offense to fans of Hauler).

I wonder if FunPub could squeeze in one more retooling. If it's Star Saber, and if they are able to do so, maybe instead of his bisecting firearm, we get a bisecting sword? If not, I'm sure some third party company would be more than happy to get a sword out for him.

I would not be disappointed by a Hauler since he's the only redeco of the Inferno mold that hasn't been done yet and feels so obvious an option to be done that it's a wonder why he hasn't been done yet.

well, if it's Prime, Inferno or Jetfire to be repainted, I suppose Star Saber out of Jetfire makes the most sense. It isn't a repaint I'd have thought of to be honest, mostly because it's painting a white toy white again, but it could work. There are plenty of options for a sword from official releases (FOC Magnus, for example) or third parties.

I can't really think of a deco that I'd want from the Classics OP mold that's not been done already or would fit the toy. Thunderclash would work for me as a Knight but don't see him in that body. Heck, Inferno is actually closer, and then it'd just be wrong that both Pyro and Thunderclash had the same body. Hauler would be a big disappointment for me, as would probably anything but a 2nd go at Pyro with the Hotspot head, and I don't think they'd do that because a lot of people would probably complain.

I suppose that Jetfire could also be repainted as Dai Atlas if they're to use the mold. Those two (1 in the box, 1 as a souvenir with a deluxe) would certainly give some power to the Knights faction.

On the other hand, since the guy was admittedly trolling, it might not be a Voyager that was used before, so there are other options to think about beyond Prime, Jetfire, and Inferno (but we can still keep them in mind). :D

Another fan suggestion I've heard (meaning it came from nowhere official and is just as valid as anything we can come up with) is an idea of Generations FOC Grimlock using its alternative BW Megatron head redecoed as T-Wrecks. That toy sure does feel knightly.

I would appreciate a Hauler toy (in part because I have neither Inferno nor Grapple), but I'd rather have him as a regular retail release, like Crosscut is going to be. I just don't see how a Constructiconbot could become a Knight.

If I can go... if not, I'd like to at least snag the non-attendee package to get in on this set.

But in hindsight, I kinda regret that comment. *spies a pair of NSA agents outside home*

Mindmaster don't care. Mindmaster do what he wants. [-(

I'd be happy to have a Voyager BotCon Star Saber at the very least, since there's a big chance I'll never get my mitts on MP Star Saber.

Thing is, since his appearance in last year's comic had him in the Universe Inferno body, the idea might have been Fun Pub's, implying that they came up with it since Hasbro doesn't plan to.

I'd like it at mass retail too, but I don't know how well it would do at retail. Crosscut I could see selling based on the sheer fact that he looks really cool. Hauler, while cool for being Hauler, doesn't look as cool on his own.

I feel like the only way we'd ever get Hauler would be from Fun Pub in some way.

As for how he'd become a knight, the same could be said about a bounty hunter being a knight. Or a Squadron X duo and a scorpion dude being pirates. ;)

I kinda wish he'd have the original toy's Mutant Head mask since it looked sorta knight-like and would help complete the look.

I'd think it's far easier for a couple of outlaw Decepticons and a dude with his dad's old giant robot body to descend into piracy than it is for a workin' man like Hauler to suddenly decide to become a hoity toity Knight Of Cybertron. But hey, maybe The Spark is strong in him?

I've got a bad feeling about this.

You mean one of the swords that was an accessory to a Hasbro Optimus, or the one made up of three Arms Microns, since FunPub's using those molds now? If the latter, it might actually make more sense than Capsule Microns that look like the bulks they're intended to be wielded by.

I'd love to see that, but my weakness for G1 background characters wants to see Hauler CHUG to BotCon just like his old e-Hobby counterpart Sunstorm did last year.

Yes that.

After all, it was also used for Platinum Edition G1 Predaking, despite not originally coming with that toy.

the Cybertron Vector Prime mold is definitely out? Because I happened to glance at mine as I walked past it last night and bloomin' heck he'd make a good Knight. (if they've already got a new head from when they used it as Alpha Trion then cool but otherwise the one on it works fine) just give it a shiny paint job, and tell me it's whoever.

I really hope they work Hauler in somehow — whether in the box set or as a bagged exclusive.

For me, mixing Masterforce and Headmasters in a box would be weird. I'd rather it be something besides Star Saber, since we have a Masterpiece one on the way.
