Obviously you didn't see all of Beast Machines. Yes he does eat Sparks, I watched that entire series, you sound like you only watched the first season.

Just so you know, that very well could have been Douglas Adams himself. He worked closely with the production staff and wrote the screenplay himself (which is why so many people were shocked at how much it deviated from the novel and television mini-series).

They been working on that project for alot of years before it finnally came out into a crap movie then because Douglas Adams died long before the finished product ever came out.

I need to go find my Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to find out exactly what year he died but I'm sure he wasn't even alive to see most of the movie being made.

Even if all the changes were in fact his idea 100% that would actully make me feel worse about the movie because that means it's own creator ruined it.

That would be like Stan Lee rewrighting Spider-man himself so that his webs will now come out his butt and his suit is made from tarantula hair.

Nope, the whole story with Humma Kavula and the POV Gun were Adams' ideas. He actually wrote Humma Kavula specifically for John Malcovich.

He died in 2001, by the way.

Then, where in the series does it show BM Megs eating sparks?

He holds them captive even at the very last episode of the series.

My "unacceptable changes":

-Things like Optimus & Bumblebee, though different, are fine. Everyone else... how HARD would it've been to retain their initial colors? It's not rocket science. It's only as complex as being able to pick crayons out of a box.

-Starscream looks like pure ass.

-Starscream, judging by the script, has NO character resemblance to the original Starscream.

-Frenzy is just garbage on every level AND no resemblance to the G1 character.

-NO SOUNDWAVE, even though he was the OTHER guy in the Decepticon triangle of G1. (Megs, Starscream, Soundwave).

-The goofy "comedy" wasn't all over the place in each G1 episode. It didn't work in Godzilla's script, and it won't work here. Sad that an AFTER-SCHOOL CARTOON is overall "more serious" than a $150,000,000 live action movie.

-The cartoon was cool because the main characters the viewer had to connect with WEREN'T humans. This movie is the opposite and proud of it.

-This movie not only doesn't start off on Cybertron, but Cybertron is supposedly GONE. >__<

-MOST of the guys don't look like their old selves, even remotely.

-Most of the guys don't have the same roles they did before.

The makers of this movie were NOT fans of Transformers, and it's been insulting to me that it was initially stated they were as such.

Luckily though, through more interviews and such, their own words betray them.

And really, look how LITTLE the list above there is.
Why, ...why it's MINISCULE!
And yet, all those slap-in-the-face-obvious points were SOMEHOW missed.

The verry last episode of the series Megatron makes a copy of the Primal Prime body without the beast mode and him and optimus fight to the death. I mean literally, they both die.

I'd have to look it up to find out the exact episode but it's durring the time that Megatron is a gient floating head.

The floating head sucks up the sparks like a vacuum cleaner and puts them inside the container. He doesn't consume the sparks like the way that Unicron consumed planets for energy.

Actually he did consume sparks in BM. I'll have to get back to with this specific ep., but when he was a spark inside the giant head he consumed one. Then as Optimal Megatron in the last ep., he started to consume the sparks, then after he and Primal bought it, they were released. I just got done watching the whole series just recently, so I hope that helps.

I liked the changes made to the TFs in Beast Wars because they retained the personalities of the characters (and introduced new ones). The form is irrelevant, it's the personality that counts, and judging by what little I have seen the personalities of some of the new movie TFs are really screwed up. Mute Bumblebee? That "sidekick transformer" couldn't stop talking in the tv series. Lovable, wet-behind-the-ears sidekick was his persona, not the fact that he was a volkswagen beetle.

Beast Machines also had a darker, more mature edge that I find unsuitable for Tranformers, which is essentially a fun robots-fistfighting kid's show. I'm afraid that's the direction the movie went in and it might make for a good action blockbuster but it won't make for a great Transformers movie.
