Bruticus color question...

So I'm mildly considering a purchase of all the Bruticus figures, and I was curious as to everyone's opinion on the 3 different color schemes.

Personally, I think the SDCC is the one that I like the most, but I'd be curious as to all your opinions.

Go...!!!

the new FOC Generations Bruticus, eh? Well, there's the SDCC one which looks pretty good. The retail one doesn't actually look terrible on its own, only when compared to the other one does it falter and even then, there's arguments to be made for each colourscheme. Then there's the G2 version, which certainly does a fine job of homaging the original G2 Bruticus, and probably looks the most cohesive as a result of having the shared camo deco. Then there's the Japanese release, which is similar, but not the same as the SDCC version, and again, some members of that look really nice, whilst others less so. Finally (I think) there's the Autobot Wreckers repaint Ruination, which does seem to have a nice balanced colour palette shared by the members, but doesn't do it for me as the characters they're meant to represent. I'm sure at some point we'll get pics of people intentionally throwing as many different coloured bots together to form a patchwork Bruticus or 5.

SDCC - More game accurate but looks a little drab and definately not worth secondary market price.

Retail - I am actually liking this color scheme more and more.

G2 - Brilliant color scheme and brilliant box. The only one of the Hasbro releases that has managed to have all the connector points one color. Also the cheapest version unless you find the retail ones on sale.

TG - Haven't really looked at this enough to warrant an opinion, although it looks like a shiny version of the SDCC version. Probably not worth import price.

G2 is the winner in my book.

Yeah, the more I keep researching this, the more I'm liking the Retail "Skittles" color scheme.

Prob the easiest to get too.

My opinion:

#1: G2 version - nice colors, G2 homage, great packaging (I don't even want to open mine!)

#2: SDCC version - game accurate, but drab; 3 of the 5 figures are baby-poop brown

#3: Retail version - look like a Fisher Price or Playskool toys

I'm sure that either BBTS or Amazon probably still have some in stock, and you save a lot by going with the G2 version. Honestly, if I paid $15 apiece for these guys, I'd have a bit of buyers remorse, but at $60, if feels reasonable. Vortex, Swindle, and Blast Off are great at everything you set them to. Onslaught is really only good in torso mode; Brawl makes a great leg and his altmode is great, but his robot mode is kinda terrible.

It's a package deal. And it's not really "so much cheaper," it's $12 per deluxe, so it's the price they SHOULD BE.

In other news, I need to stop posting from my phone, there were so many typos in that last post. xD

ugh, ok so this simple math is really bothering me, lol.

As for the Retail version, why would I buy a package deal for 100 dollars when I can simply spend the 14.99 in stores and buy them seperately? ...Totaling 75 dollars.

Whats the incentive to buy them as a package deal?

Wow, I'm totally just gonna take my time and try to find them randomly in stores then. No need to shell out an extra 25 dollars, AND shipping.

The G2 set is $60, compared to $75 for the retail version. Only the SDCC set is more expensive than the retail one. So if you can get the G2 version for $60, that's your best option. It's the cheapest AND (IMO) the best-looking.

That's the retail version, with a substantial markup tacked on by BBTS. You can buy those individual figures at retail for $15 each for a total of $75. BBTS is just doing the work for you so you don't have to run around town trying to find all five figures. But when we talk about the "$75 retail version", that's what we're talking about.

BBTS is also selling the G2 set, with better colors and better packaging, at $60: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/prod ... ode=retail
