Captain Power eBay horror story- avoid classictoyspaper

Do you collect other toys besides Transformers? Maybe you've got a Masters of the Universe collection you'd like to show off, or maybe you like Thundercats, Voltron, G.I.Joe, Power Rangers, Star Wars, Wrestling, or any of the various comic book toy lines. Please keep the discussions here to non-Transformers toy lines.

It will dig through every year of operation the seller in question has and report any and all negatives and neutrals on an easy to use website.

I use it frequently.

EDIT: The seller in question: http://toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs?User=c ... N&ref=home

Looks like this guy is scum. He screwed another Australian buyer, check about a quarter down the page, you'll see it.

you can read thru all the ebay feedback pages on a buyer or seller. depending on how much feedback the seller or buyer has,it can take minutes or hours.

yes the negatives erase from the score after a year. but their still on the pages of feedback a buyer or seller has.

Wow your willing to pay $1,000 in shipping fees for a item that only cost $159 from the ebay auction. you must really love this item. is this item a holy grail of yours?

It's semi rare, but it's more the old saying of "The Tyranny of distance."

Most of the toylines I collect tend to be hard to get hold of. My Captain Power collection, along with my COPS and Visionaries collections, have all been done through overseas purchases.

That's fine for the most part, but because of Australia Post's size restrictions, it means that in a few cases, I need to bite the bullet and pay for an international courier.

I'm staring down the barrel of this needing to happen 2-5 times with my whole collection- the Power Base, Boulder Hill and if I go hardcore with MOTU; Snake Mountain, Castle Grayskull and Eternia.

I'm not exactly thrilled about it, but it's something I go into an auction for any of these things sealed, being very aware of.

Fortunately this isn't a problem for the likes of Fort Max, Scorponok and Overlord heh.

I have to say that one thing that's interesting are the number of potential red flags this has turned up on a couple of other forums. There are at least half a dozen sellers (one of whom I know the eBay id of) who I'd steer clear of after this because of their blindly defending the seller.

A happy ending to this story. Had a MISB Power Base turn up today- shipping cost $370 and was a bit of fun and games trying to sort out, but besides a price tag and some wear long the edges, there's only some very minor wear to speak of. Honestly, it looks like it could have been sitting on the shelf of a retailer for a while and I just picked it up. Huge shoutout to rabota_n-a and Justin Killion, the guy selling it through him, for the hookup.
