So... you'll be requiring a slightly unhinged but proven-genius surgeon to be making these alterations to Contemptor then? ;)

well yeah.. how'd ya know? lol

Well now. In that case, don't forget about that glamorous, streamlined, perfectly polished mech known as Knockout!

Meh, Knockouts a mechanic.
When we need some wheel's balancing or a steering column fixed, we'll call him ;)

Serious question this time: is he based on the TF:Prime knockout character? I've not kept up on it (being in the UK and all :BOOM: ) and only found he existed via the news article about his toy yesterday...

Must admit, I do like the blending of genres in this game - Animated, Prime and Armada all in a G1-esque universe. Just wish I had the time for more characters.

(EDIT: Tell ya what Em, Knockout can do the chassis, Mal will alter Con's 'internals' and Baneblade has to play whatever we come up with... )

The characters from Armada except one that is very important to me! coughsidewayscough

I actually have been working on him, and I think I have him down.

One version is he has DPD (Dual Personality Disorder) and his alternate self manifests itself in mirrors and such. I never got over Heroes.

The other version is where he is a psychotic maniac who only seeks to destroy both sides so the war can be over with no victor. As, in his eyes, there must be in every war.

Ugh. How much I would like to play him.

Anyway, wouldn't it be unwise to fly on LV-117? Creatures literally leap from the trees and snatch things out of the air. Hm. Maybe I should post that...

I'm not even sure what that means, but it sounds like we'll have fun finding out...

Oh, forgot about that, answers most of my stupid questions. Thanks Dev!

2 other quick questions though: Is the holomatter/avatar tech limited to Autobots only or can the 'cons duplicate and equip it as well, and if I assume changing/updating an altmode requires a medical/engineering procedure and not just movie-type 'scanning' ala Bayformers, would I be right?

(Neither has a huge impact on the game for me, just asking more for story flavour than anything else, as not really relevant on the Thantos)

The first part of your question is a good one. I had to do a bit of searching and this is what I found: "Holomatter can be detected by devices called holomatter readers. Both sides regularly equip their bases with these devices. The avatars do have a limited range, and the further it gets from its controller the more energy it takes to keep it functioning."

Based on the bolded portion of that quote, I'm assuming that both sides utilize holomatter avatars since both sides also use holomatter readers to detect them.

And for the next part of your question: The only medical assistance required for updating/changing an alt mode would be to ensure that the Transformer is relatively the same size of the intended alt mode chosen.

If the Transformer is sized appropriately than acquiring said mode would be to simply scan the vehicle(or whatever is intended to be used) and take on the form.

Hope that helps.

That's brilliant Ember, thank you. The avatar thing will come in handy, especially as they can be solid.

I would assume the land/air/space distinction remains though. A ground based character (eg a Stunticon) couldn't reformat as a helicopter or jet without drastic alterations, correct?

I wasn't serious. I just have him for the LOLZ.

Wouldn't they, though? I mean, if LV-117 is as volatile as it seems and some of the creatures fly, wouldn't things in the trees leap up and snatch things out of the air?

I remember watching an animal TV show, it had some lizards leaping into the air and snatching some insects on their way down. Perhaps like this? It would also make the taking off of a shuttle interesting.

Just some thoughts.

Well, if that's the case, then sure, why the hell not!
