Henkei, Gentei, BotCon? Who the hell knows?

Generations, CP, Generations ;)

It can't be BotCon (not the main set at least) as it uses :BOT: instead of :G2BOT: like Spark. Main line Henkei is over, plus I'm not spotting any chrome for it to be Gentei, so it may be Generations. Possibilities:

- Throttlebot Freeway
- BotCon 2002 Glyph

I'm hoping it's Freeway myself. Funny though: with Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, and this, we have all three original colors of the Volkswagen Beetle Mini-Car mold in Microchange ;)

A poster by the board name of rioryo at ACToys has posted a few interesting images, the images are of what seems to be a "Gliph" repaint of the Classics Bumblebee mold.

While it is yet still unconfirmed what line this repaint will be part of, it is most certainly a TakaraTomy product and might be part of ether the Hentei or Gentei line due to its chromed engine block.

Chromed engine block looks like Henkei Bumblebee, but he looks very sloppily constructed. Custom? KO? Not sure yet.

I say this is Henkei or Gentei due to the chrome and the red Autobot symbol. But I'm leaning more towards Gentei.

Even if the original toy was a repaint, it's hard to think of this as anything other than BB without a new head mold.

It might be a repaint by a fan.

Maybe, but getting an actual chrome look without expensive stuff is VERY hard. Even the best "chrome" spraypaints still have a spraypaint or silver paint look to them.

I considered this, but dismissed it for the following reason...

Look at the jetski as it's folded out as wings for his backpack. The tabs that latch the sides together in jetski mode are blue. They're clearly blue plastic. If this were painted, those would have to be unpainted in order to get them to fold together.

There's a lot of little plastic tells like that on the toy, no where on him/her do we see paint rubbing off that a custom would be subject to.

No, if anything, it may be a KO or bootleg. I think it's legit though. The source? Dunno.

Autobrand is Red not purple so it's not a Shattered figure.

Freeway would be cool. but if it's Glyph, that would rock.

Definitely not a repaint. You can obviously see blue molded parts. As for it being a KO. It's possible.

Also, looks to be a heat stamped tampogram, but not sure. We see chorme, but that could have been taking off of a Henkei BB and added to this. But if we are to assume what we see is real, then I'm gonna assume for now that this is a Henkei figure. Only going by what we see here and not having the figure in hand.

Bottom line...I WANT THIS LIL FIGURE!! :) I hope it's glyph, but does Glyph exist in Japan? Isn't he a Botcon character? So he might not be Glyph, but some other character...

Henkei Bumblebee had gold not silver chroming.

I'm compensating for being ugly. :KREMZEEK:

Edit: I'm just kidding. I'm hella cute. Taken though. Sorry ladies. No one is willing to put up with my bullshit the way my wife is. Not even your mom, who I dated back in the 80's. Does that make sense? No, but I believe it and that's what's important.

Classics, Universe, Generations, Henkei, Gentai, whatever, that's a great repaint of an awesome mold.

Those Classics molds must some of the best money makers for HasTakomy. With this BB would be done 6 times (2 BB, 2 CJ, Bugbite and Glyph), Mirage has been done 6 times, Prime 4, Grimlock 3, Jetfire 4 + 1 remold and freakin Starscream 9 times, with the remold into Ramjet 4 times and 2 Thrust remolds for a total of 15!

Someone earned their keep with that idea!

Cliffjumper was done only once. The Henkei one was with the Legends Bumblebee.

There is some serios knowleDge getting dropped in this thread! I'm finding this info very informative from all the usual suspects, CP, jelze, prime evil, etc, y'all know who y'are! Really great stuff! As for the figure, she looks great! I truly wouldn't mind seeing a Tap Out from this mold either, they might as well give us a green one, wouldn't that be pretty:)

I'd rather a Goldbug repaint with a new head.

you guys remember transmetals were all chromey, and they released that chrome ravage in canada and as a promo mailaway in US, and told everyone they found a cheaper way to chrome stuff, given that i really think this is a Generations figure!

Don't count on it. Hasbro hasn't chromed anything in ages.
