CM's Corp has unveiled some colored versions of the adorable Minerva and Minelba (Nightbeat). Also pictured in the display was Ginrai (Powermaster Optimus). Posed next to their G1 counterparts we can calculate that these figures will be between 6 - 8 inches tall. Check out the pics below or head over to the original thread by clicking here.

I could be wrong, but I just dont see too many TF fans buying into doll collecting. The Botcon 2012 Metalhawk is bad enough.

Dont get me wrong, the anime chicks look hot. =P~ But I could imagine someone who actually owned these dolls being labeled a perv by society. Im not saying everyone would think like this, but I know many women in Miami that do.

Depending on availability and price point, they'll be a hit with a lot of fans.

Likely the perv labels comes not from owning such dolls but saying they look hot. And one certainly doesn't need to own such toys to make such comments.

They look awesome. I will move heaven and earth for the three of them.

While I'd like that, these will almost definitely go for a lot of dough.

Obviously the molds were created to make the dolls look "hot". Theres no getting around it. You can sugarcoat it all you want, but obviously, these are not made to be politically correct. A non-TF fan would interpret them quite differently. They would see teenage faces with seductive bodies. I know some mothers in their mid 20's who refuse to let their daughters play with "Bratz" dolls because of the image they project. Im not implying all women think to these extremes. Im simply implying that if you own these dolls, there are some women out there that would avoid you.

I'll pass on Minerva but I'm probably going to bite on that Ginrai.

Would the stigma of owning either Minerva really be worse than what comes from being an adult toy-collector in general?

Their faces instantly remind me of those Queen's Blade figures I see at every big comic con, compared to which both Minerva's are downright kid-friendly. Hell, I'll probably buy both of them just to distract my lady friends from my Soul of Chogokin female Mazinger robots and Slave Leia.

Why is this in the 3rd party forum? I thought these where officially licensed by Takara?

Also,
Image

WTF?! There will be a Nightbeat repaint of Minerva, with a creepy grumpy male head?

There is also the question of why Minerva comes with two different heads, that both have that same "inflatable lady friend doll" expression about them. :0

Well, I've owned this for a while now.

So far no one said anything about it, sure there's women who'd be turned off, but they should understand that it's just a fun hobby, just like with Transformers, just saying.

Actually that's Hi-Q's head, Ginrai's not-nearly-as-awesome American counterpart, complete with funky space sunglasses!

One of my favorite TF ever is God Ginrai. So when Ginrai will be out, I'll be the first in line to purchase this guy. As long that the price is reasonable. Maybe 50$?

To everyone calling these "dolls", I must inform you they are not, they are figures, dolls are like Barbies, heck, I suppose you could consider the Hot Toys stuff "dolls", but not these, these are different. Just thought I'd say.

Who gives a **** ? If the lady is more focused on what you own rather who you are, then she's far too materialistic to begin with. And if you want a one night stand, then hell, shove that **** in the closet.

When it comes down it, they're pretty much like fembots, and if you're afraid of having that in your collection, then that's you and you alone.

Reminsd me that I need to make a TFA Nightbird and Nightbeat..

Does anyone else think of Magnamon from Digimon when they see the blue and yellow Minerva?.

I think youre missing my entire point. The anime style of faces makes them look like teenage girls. Collectible dolls can be made to look "hot" without having them look underage.

Take Tomb Raider for example:

But if you were to display these dolls on your shelf, some people might think you got some real issues...

This isnt the late 90's where anything goes. Anyone suspected of lusting underage girls is not respected where I come from. And all I was trying to say is these dolls can be mistaken for something the buyer doesnt intend to suggest.

BTW, Barbie dolls are posable and collectible also, so these are indeed "dolls".

How are Barbie's "posable"? They have what, five swivel joints? And yes, they are collectible dolls, but stuff like Gutto-Kurus and figmas are collectible figures.

I think the final acid test of whether a figure is a "doll" or not is whether it can wear actual clothes that can be changed without popping off or interchanging body parts. Since these have interchangeable faces and the only way to put the helmet on involves popping her hair off, and said hair is one flexible piece of plastic as opposed to being rooted, I'd say these are clearly "figures", not dolls.

Makes sense to redeco Minerva in Nightbeat colors since Nightbeat's toy was released as a mail order figure over in Japan as "Minerva Night Beat".

Minerva IS a teenage girl! She's 15 years old. All Headmaster Juniors are teenagers/preteens. It was the Godmasters who were young adults/middle adults. Sheesh, man.

More than 100$.... Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn.......

Still it's the closest thing to a humanized Optimus Prime as I can get and he'll fit so well next to my God Ginrai. I'll have to bite the bullet. I may buy him later than intended, but I'll have him eventually.

By her curvaceous looks, Minerva isnt exactly a girl scout, is she ???

Maybe the actual cartoons were done in another era when nobody cared. But I doubt these dolls would get a pass from most women with kids. Not in Miami, at least. Latinos are very family oriented.

What's the big deal with the Minerva figure? And what makes Minerva creepy anyway? Btw, they're action figures if you want to go anal.

I'd consider them dolls if the costumes come off (Dolfie,VMF,Azone and AFC) those are what you'd consider "dolls". Her armor doesn't come off at all. You can't strip her down to her pantsu so why the hang ups? It isn't even Kiss Player level?

Figutto are action figures, with emphasis on action figures.....like figma.......only bigger. They're no different from SquarEnix's FF figures or their PlayArts Kai lines.

It's mentality like these that prevents Hasbro from ever releasing any female themed TFs. Thank Primus that we have the Japanese market that don't have any hang ups at all on such sublines.

Busy checking my on line Japanese supplier to get a final release date 'cause I'm getting Ginrai and Minerva. :APPLAUSE:

Wow, we just sucked all the fun right out of this didn't we?

Okay, here's the real test. Doesn't matter what you have on your shelf. If your molesting real children, you're a pedophile, if your not molesting real children then your not.

Seriously, we're getting so out of control with reading into everything. Meanwhile real perverts and criminals get released back into the world every day with nothing but a slap on the wrist because no one wants to push those issues.

Priorities please.
