- Motto: ""Excessive force is not necessary.""
When I initially saw the Construct Bots previewed months ago, I was like "cool, nice G1 homages, but ummm..NO."
I do not, as a norm buy TF stuff that is not in the main line as a general rule. This includes things like Bot Shots, Kreo, Robot Heroes, Titanium, or even third party (with the exception of the FP CC set). There is, after all, only so much money to go around, and so much room in my house.
Then a week ago I went into TRU to kill some time before work. And there it was. Scout Class SS and IH for 5 bucks a pop, a "Red Hot Deal" sign glowing invitingly beneath them. I finished scanning the main line shelves, but my attention kept crawling back to that "Red Hot Deal".
"Hmmm.." I thought. "Half off...aw what the heck. Ten bucks. No big deal. Something fun to have on my computer desk. I'll just pick these two up."
Well, now the two have become 4, and I'm already champing at the bit to add to that number. I bought SW and OP, and between them all I can't stop fiddling with them and modding them. I never meant for this to happen, but I'm hooked, dammit. These sets are just too much fun. If they start releasing random spare parts packs I'm really in trouble. Those "Hot Deals" were like the heroin guy giving the first doses for free!
I wonder if they have someone named Heisenberg working for Hasbro....
