The buyers I have for them have expressed the fact that my figures do look like they were all done the same way and belong in their set. That only pigeon-holes me for the time being. I'd like to get a micron airbrush and detail in panel lines that way (saving up for one) and start a new look at some point, so I hear ya. However I wanna stay away from the clean-Gundam-kit-look. So... something inbetween. I'm always listening to suggestions too, any ideas?
Personally, I beleive routine is boring. Each time I do a kitbash, I always use a diffrernt style, so that I learn and become a diverse basher, rather than stick on one technique. I can understand why you wouldn't want a clean look, but, not all robots are beat up, so maybe you'd try it and see how you can apply your skills.
And, maybe you could try Dropkick with a metallic green, so I can say its my dads truck as a Transformer.
