The blocky parts look really bad. It literally looks like half a gallon cardboard milk cartoon blocky parts. it looks more blocky than the 1985 toy and cartoon design.
Is this toy even needed? Didn't Hasbro already create a cartoon accurate Jetfire toy in the classics toy line.

No. Not accurate enough. I have spent the better part of 28 years waiting for an accurate SKYFIRE so for me and Im sure others like me it is needed. While I have some things I would like to see improved on this offering, I appreciate the attempt and will hold off on judgement till I see the final product. It is mind boggling to me why cartoon Skyfire has not been done prior. Surely we need one or two of this character over yet another Optimus or Bumblebee?

The problem is, while not a perfect representation of cartoon Skyfire, Classics Jetfire is AWESOME! I'm not sure that there is anything that can be done, at least in a classics sense. I will repeat Blurrz' (I think, or was it Counterpunch?) sentiment. Anyone who doesn't want their Classics Jetfire can send him my way. It's still my favorite figure in all of the Classics/Generations line.
The MP Line might be the one, last hope for a cartoon accurate figure. Well, MP and these recent Third Party offerings.
I do have to disagree with the blocky critique. I always found cartoon Skyfire to be very, very blocky in appearance. Some of these renders are practically spot on! I can't wait to see prototypes and figure out how the transformation happens. I'm curious about where the arms and shoulders go in alt mode.

I agree,The Classics Jetfire was perfection. it's only downside was it's size. If Hasbro would have made it a size or two bigger more would have liked it. Thrown in poseable fingers and it's a home run. Hasbro needs to start releasing multiple sizes of their better molds to please more camps.
GiveMeSkyfire wrote:I like classics Jetfire just fine. I guess it would be inappropriate to have any further toys produced based on this character. Bring on more Megatrons!
