The answer to yesterday's question was B. Gary Oldman, congratulations SW's SilverHammer and Rodimus Prime. From what I understand the Count was in serious consideration, but Oldman nailed his last audition and was given the part.

Today's trivia question.

Which of these events occurred on a January 26th?

A. 2004 – A whale explodes in the town of
Tainan , Taiwan. A build-up of gas in the
decomposing sperm whale is suspected of
causing the explosion.

B. 1998 – Lewinsky scandal : On American
television, U.S. President Bill Clinton denies
having had " sexual relations " with former
White House intern Monica Lewinsky .

C. 1870 – American Civil War: Virginia rejoins
the Union .

D. 1861 – American Civil War: The state of
Louisiana secedes from the Union.

Indeed, honestly when I came up with the question I had no idea what Laos 's capital was. It's not in the news here very often, so I never think about it.

The djed?

No...wait. That is the name Lucas ripped off of ancient Egyptian priests to name his heroes in the franchise.

The Ark maybe? I'm going with that!

It would be the 49ers, if I understand it right. They lost last year, and they're 5-time winners. Or is it who made consecutive trips to the Super Bowl, won and then lost? If so, then yeah, it's the Packers. Won in 1997 ('96 season) and lost the following year.

Must have phrased my question poorly. Here is hint, the first four Super Bowl were games between the NFL and a rival league, the American Football League (AFL). During that time frame, the NFL won two Super Bowls and the AFL won two. In 1970, the NFL absorbed all of the AFL teams as the leagues merged.

What I wanted is: What was the last NFL team to lose an AFL team in the Super Bowl?

Then it was the Minnesota Vikings, and I really had to look that one up.

correct!

In Super Bowl IV, the AFL champ Kansas City Chiefs beat the NFL champ Minnesota Vikings. Oddly, it was the Chiefs' only Super Bowl win and the Vikings have lost all four Super Bowl they played in.

PS. The World Series was originally a competition between the champions two former rival leagues, the American and National Leagues which still have some difference between them (Designated Hitter rule in AL, pitch hit in the NL). In many major North American sports league had league mergers.

I can understand that, it's an easy enough mistake to make. I suppose I could have added A New Hope in there, but I hate that title so much.
