Smokescreen shook his head as Hound berated his own abilities once again. “Stop being so hard on yourself. You’re just as much a hero as the rest of us,” Smokey replied as he, the green scout and Lore-lock continued onward down the hallway. “You’re holograms are indispensable to us. Without them, we’d be in a much more dire situation than we are now. Just hang in there, buddy. We’ll make it out of here.”

Hot Spot soon appeared and helped to prop up Hound, allowing Smokescreen the freedom to move independently of his comrade. It also took the extra weight off the diversion expert's already damaged body. “Yeah, Hex went this way, I think,” Smokey replied to Hot Spot’s assumption, pointing further down the corridor. “He told me that he was heading for an exterior wall somewhere. But, with all the chaos around us I lost sight of him. He did say that he didn’t care if any of us got out of here or not, so I’m not too sure how much help he’s going to be.”

Smokescreen then paused a moment and listened as the Protectobot Commander radioed Prime, or any other Autobot for help. I hope Optimus really is here. We could really use his help right now.

Front Corridor outside Bounce Chamber

Skywarp ducked down, allowing Axle’s blast to rocket over his cranial unit and into a nearby wall. The teleporter returned fire once again, hoping to keep the Autobots from exiting the Bounce Chamber, at least through the front door anyway. The seeker then looked over his shoulder at Scrapper, who had just appeared with the rest of the Constructicons.

“No, we’re not retreating, Scrapper. We’re regrouping,” Skywarp responded dryly. “And that barricade idea probably won’t work. There’s a breach in the wall on the other side of the bounce chamber which leads into a side corridor. The Autobots can easily get out that way. But do whatever you want. My suggestion is to just fire everything you’ve got towards the bounce chamber door. Keep them pinned down in there until Megatron arrives on scene, which is a certainty at this point.”

It was then that Skywarp saw Breakdown racing out of the bounce chamber. Stupid slagger’s not gonna make it. Guess I’m the rescue ‘Con now, ‘Warp thought as he disappeared from sight and reappeared closer to the paranoid Stunticon. “Get going, Breakdown. Head for the Constructicons. I’ll cover you,” the teleporter ordered as he fired more shots from his arm-mounted lasers at the Autobots within the bounce chamber.

--------------------------------------

Long Haul approached the action with Scrapper and the other Constructicons. They came upon Skywarp and Hook first before the prankster headed down to help Breakdown escape from the Bounce Chamber. With Prime and even more Autobots now here, things were getting heated quicker than expected.

“You still want me to get materials for a barricade, boss? Or should we just provide cover for ‘Warp and Breakdown?”

Corridor Approaching Bounce Chamber

Hardhead had been too cocky at thinking his shot at Blitzwing’s sword would be a sure hit. Unfortunately for the green mech, his crystal shards had been easily deflected by the triplechanger, allowing the ‘Con to keep a hold of his sword. Hardhead’s optics widened as he saw Blitzwing point his electro-scimitar directly at him. The war veteran immediately slowed his charge in an attempt to stop short from being impaled.

However, Hardhead’s momentum was too great for him to stop completely, and thus he shifted his upper body weight backwards, allowing his legs to slide forward and out from under him. This caused the green warrior to fall onto his wounded back and skid to a halt just underneath the triplechanger’s bladed weapon.

Ignoring the intense pain shooting through his back, Hardhead immediately reached up with both hands in order to grab a hold of Blitzwing’s sword-wielding arm, hoping to dislodge the electro-scimitar from his grip. At the same time, the powerful Autobot sent a swift kick at the triplechanger’s legs in an attempt to knock the large ‘Con to the ground. "I also play to win, 'Con! Count on it!"

Lore-lock nodded as Smokey assured Hound. "Ain't that the truth of it. If you hadn't put that hole in the wall? Primus only, knows what type of mess we'd still be in."

Once Hot Spot, rejoined them, the scout started to relax a little bit. Only to tense up, after Smokescreen mentioned Hex. However, he waited until after his squad leader called the boss bot, before he added his observation about the younger scout, "The lad has some serious issues. I may have thought Dead End was out there, but Hex takes it to the next level. I don't think I'll ever forget the mess he made of Drag Strip. I didn't even see carnage like that back home."

As the group made their way to where ever they were going his minor injuries began to collectively register on his system. He switched to his axe, if only to have it as a crutch."Slag it all!" he groaned, "My armor isn't exactly made for this. I'll make it, but by Unicron, I can't move too much faster."

Bounce Chamber

Brawn ducked out of the way of Skywarp's initial attacks, which Axel covered. Still, the warrior had yet to take a target, and they were starting to be taken up.

It was then that Breakdown knocked him over as he made his getaway towards the Constructions. Brawn grabbed his pistol and returned fire against Skywarp.

It was then that they received message from Jazz. he found the others. However a medic was needed. Brawn had the medic with him, however, they were pre-occupied with the regrouping Decepticons.

He opened a signal to Jazz.

>>"Jazz, I got Axel here with me, but it's hot down here! Think you could lend a couple of bots up here?"<<

If Brawn could get some help from the rescuee's, it would relieve Axel to go help. A couple of them just had to still be battleworthy.

Outside

High above the base, Jetfire continued his pursuit of Thrust, with Dirge on his tail. As jetfire continued firing his pulse cannons at Thurst, Drige had let loose a heat-seeking missile. Jetfire knew Drige well enough that trying to trick the rocket into following Thrust would not work. he also needed to take the duo down quickly and help Sideswipe with the Cyberjets. If those were taken down, it would be a matter of dividing the remaining Decepticons between them both. Jetfire decided it was time to change his strategy and do something Dirge would not expect.

The Guardian activated his afterburners, catching up to Thrust and hovering just above the cowardly seeker to intimidate him some. Jetfire then accelerated further, hoping the missile would home in on Thrust, being the clsoer target emitting heat. It was then that he hit his rudders and spun into a dive, just missing Thrust by millimeters. Jetfire dove a couple of seconds and then hit his afterburners, turning his attention to Dirge, whom he quickly opened fire upon with his Pulse cannons, in addition to a few missiles. he expected Thurst to turn around, however, at the velocity jetfire was traveling at, the guardian was cvertain he could finish his pass.

However, something was bothering him. His radar registered the other Decepticons, as if they were waiting on something.

Above the Decepticon Base
:CON:
After receiving Slipstream's transmission about the breach being sealed Starscream transformed and hovered in the air as he surveyed the situation. Not many of the Autobots actually remained outside, but those that did seemed to be giving his warriors some trouble. However, Jetfire was on the scene, the Seeker Commander had a history with the Autobot air guardian, and perhaps he should take the opportunity and finally put an end to him.

>>Spare me your excuses and your mock flattery Slipstream. If you are damaged enough not to be able to join us in the air then continue to observe the area in case any of the Autobots trapped inside attempt to flee so we will see it if they escape. Thrust, Dirge, break off your engagement with Jetfire, I am going to take care of him personally. I want the two of you to use the emergency exit to the base to reinforce the others inside, Thundercracker, Ramjet join them as well.<<

Transforming into his jet form once again Starscream roared through the air at full speed towards Jetfire's location. As he did so he switched over to an old communications channel the two used to use in the old days before the war.

>>It has been a long time Jetfire, it is not often that I get the chance to converse with a mech that I have known as long as you these days. It is a pity then that I will have to terminate you today!<<

Not even an astrosecond had passed when Starscream closed the link and opened fire, approaching Jetfire from above, his null rays firing away as fast as he could recharge them.

Inside the Decepticon base
:BOT:
Annex had been following Prime and the others when he was ordered to split off and assist other Autobots engaging the Decepticons. Although the Ranger had wanted to follow Optimus further into the base he wasn't going to argue or question his orders. Peeling away from the group he saw Hardhead engaging a rather brutish looking Decepticon he recognized as Blitzwing. Not seeing a good chance to get involved he dropped down to one knee and raised his carbine and peered through the scope. It was hard trying to get a good shot off as the two were moving constantly, but suddenly an opportunity presented itself and Annex grinned as he snapped off two quick shots. Maybe not enough to slow down the larger Decepticon, but likely to provide enough of a distraction to allow Hardhead to get the upper hand.

Hangar Bay :BOT:

Blaster managed one brief incredulous glance at Prowl before being forced to dive to the side to avoid the first of Soundwave’s concussion blasts. He wasn’t afraid to take on Soundwave, actually it was a fight he’d been itching for, but his ‘con mirror had managed to call up 3 of his casseticons while Blaster only had Eject on the ground. Odds were pretty slim that he’d get chance to call any of the others with Soundwave in his face.

>>”I’ll sick Eject on the cassettes, but I don’t know if he’ll be able to keep them off your back.<< Blaster transmitted as he ran, barely staying ahead of Soundwave’s fire.” >>”You’d better make a run for the CIC anyway and see if you can get that jammer shut down. I’m reading vibration from the mountain itself – I think we might have to bounce out of here sooner than later.”<<

Blaster snapped the channel closed and continued his run, just ahead of Soundwave’s continuing barrage. The blasts from the concussion rifle tore the ground up at his feet, looking like the results of a strafing run, only slower. He knew he’d never keep clear of the blasts for long though, and he was running out of space to run anyway, so it was time to try something impressive - impressive and maybe a little crazy. It was amazing the things he’d do just to live up to his rep.

Blaster ran at the wall took two steps up the vertical surface, and flipped, twisting as he went to fire back at Soundwave. Or at least that’s what he was trying to do. Just as he was kicking off the wall one of the concussion blasts hit it, destroying the surface he was pushing off of. His graceful flip turned to awkward tumble. He ended up crashing unceremoniously to the floor, and was only barely able to keep from losing his gun. He rolled to the side, firing as he went, hoping to avoid any more of Soundwave’s blasts, and maybe if he was lucky score a hit or two of his own.

:BOT:

Eject caught Blaster’s transmission to Prowl, and took his instructions from that. He’d worked with Blaster for so many vorns that even when they weren’t linked, he could almost read the coach’s mind. It was time to pick a fight to give Prowl a head start.

“Hey Rumble, Frenzy – long time no see, you dirty piles of scrap!” he yelled, popping up from behind the crate he was using for cover and firing off a few shots from his Overload gun at the pair.

Bounce Chamber :BOT:

The thing that most of his opponents tended to forget because of his massive frame was that Optimus Prime was fast! The blast that dropped Wildrider had no more than left his gun before he was moving again. The Autobot leader saw Snowcap moving, raising his weapons to fire, and reacted with lightning reflexes. He rolled forward, allowing both blasts from the freon cannons to pass harmlessly over his head, and sprang to his feet inside Snowcap’s reach with his rifle butt leading

Prime slammed the stock of the weapon into Snowcap’s chin with the full weight of his momentum behind the blow. The impact resounded like a clap of thunder and with so much force that it sent the heavily armored seeker flying twenty feet through the air and out the gap in the wall.

As Prime surveyed the room, his comm. howled to life with a burst of static and garbled communications from two sources. One was so distorted he couldn’t make out any of it, and could barely tell it had come from Prowl, the other however, though static-filled, was discernable:

Code: Select all
>>”Hot Spot to Optimus Prime, or any Autobot. Can anyone read me? We are trapped inside the Decepticon base but we are trying to get out. Please respond.”<<

>>”I read you Hot Spot. We’re within the Decepticon Headquarters as well, in the remnants of the bounce chamber. What is your location from there?”<<

:CON:

Motormaster struggled against the molecular adhesive that effectively cocooned him and sealed him to the floor of the bounce chamber. To say he was enraged would be an understatement of epic proportions. He was so angry that his fuel lines were near to bursting from pressure, and, damn it all, he couldn’t even move! After Hot Spot’s lucky shot had taken his mobility, he’d bounced them all back here only to pull the Autobots with him, and to add insult to injury, or perhaps the other way around, he’d taken a shot to the face that had put him on his back, allowed Hot Spot and his cronies to escape, and had now led to his inglorious position stuck to the Primus-damned floor!

Still, despite the still throbbing agony from the ruin of his face, Motormaster could think. He might have the reputation of a bully and, well, a psycho, but he’d seen plenty of battle, so he did have some tactical sense. What that tactical sense told him, wasn’t looking very good for the home team.

The fact that the Autobots were this deep into the base, and virtually unopposed from what he could tell, suggested that there was a pretty good chance that this base was slag. Even if Megatron was somehow able to turn the tide, the wounded might leak out before anyone had a chance to do any repairs, if there was anyone still standing who could do them, and the repair bays hadn’t been destroyed. It was, as grating as it was to do it twice, time to get out of here.

Motormaster activated his link to the Ultrax still in orbit, and activated its bounce system. It took some careful tweaking of the beams to get them to penetrate the rock that surrounded them, but he had the passcodes to the defensive screens, so that, at least, wasn’t a hindrance. Through his link, he locked on to Wildrider, Drag Strip, and Dead End, then focused the beam so it would grab him and not the glue he was coated in, and activated. Silvery light permeated the chamber, and the wounded Stunticons were gone.

Outside :BOT:

Sideswipe caromed down the rugged dirt road at nearly 200 miles per hour. Only his superior reflexes kept him on the road, but unfortunately however fast he was, the Cyberjets were flying, and so they were faster. He wasn’t sure why they had stopped shooting at him and were coming in low, but he wasn’t about to question his luck.

A panel slid away on his trunk, allowing his rocket launcher to rise into position. He fired a blast into the trees lining the road, and though his firepower was quite weak when compared to other Transformers, it was more than sufficient to bring several of the massive trees crashing down in his wake. He hoped the Cyberjets flew right into the falling timber as they pursued him.

:CON:

>>Orders received Starscream,”<< Ramjet replied, pulling out of his climb and angling towards the far side of the mountain. He’d used this particular entrance many times to sneak in and out of the base, in fact he’d been gone the last time the Autobots had come calling. Even considering the danger of sneaking off without orders, he’d never been as uncomfortable entering the base as he was right now.

The smoke from the mountaintop was ominous, and considering that the base itself was built inside the very mountain that was smoking, it felt like voluntarily climbing into a smelter. Maybe it was nothing, maybe the mountain would smoke and rumble and then calm right back down, and maybe the whole thing would go up. It was impossible to tell which, but Ramjet for one wasn’t thrilled with the idea of being confined inside if the volcano did blow its’ top.

Snowcap landed hard, but the bigger blow was to his ego. Why did he cry out like that when he attacked? Was he too used to using the cover of heavy snowstorms to mock his foes? He reached up for his face, feeling a weird tingling sensation only to find his jaw caved in on itself. "WWWRRRRHHH?" He tried to say what but it was all distorted. His vision suddenly flickered as he finally felt the force of the injury. It would take him a moment to recover. He switched his optics off and let his arm fall limp. Better to play dead for now and let his systems reboot he thought. His time would come later.

Outside

"CRAPCRAPCRAPCR*THWACK*AAHHHH!!!" Hooligan cursed Sideswipe as he got caught by one of the trees. They cam down on him hard. He was now pinned down and one of his wings bent. "I HATE YOU AUTOBOT!!!"

"Who's the stupid one now?" Space Case however escaped the trees and pursued his target. Enjoying his victory over his condescending ally Space Case transformed and armed himself with a club. "I'm too fast for ya Autowimp, you wanna have a chance then let's do this hand to hand."

Jazz hated fighting, especially femmes, but this time, he just wanted to bust some cons'.

The light show was working well on both of the female Seekers, but Nightraven suddenly disappeared. "I always knew I wasn't that big of a hit with the Femmes, but this is ridiculous!"

He smirked at his own joke, it just fit the situation.

Out of the corner of his visor he saw movement in the flames, and then saw the shape of the raging Hellion lunging through the flames at him.

OH SCRAP! Jazz thought.

And he knew just what to do, Jazz did a backward somersault, dodging gunfire from Nightraven, and transformed.

Speeding through the hallway, singular lights glinting lightly on his hood as he searched for any sign of the Autobot team, except for the smoke or course.

He then received the message from Hot Spot.

>>Hey, this is Jazz, I read you loud and clear Hot Spot! Prime and a squad of Autobots are here from HQ to rescue you! Everyone A-OK?<<

It took several seconds before he received Brawn's message.

>>Roger, Brawn, just try to hold up the fort, and send me, Prime and the Autobot's your coordinates and I'll ask someone to go to you!<<

OoC: Hey Deva! I didn't want to move around Hellion again, not really my thing now...

Blitzwing realized he had made an error of judgement when Hardhead shifted his center of mass to avoid being impaled by the triplechanger's sword. If such a cumbersome Autobot was able to do that, Blitzwing would have had enough time to take that swing he had contemplated on. Still, he could not change what had already passed. Instead, he reacted. To Blitzwing, Hardhead seemed to be moving in slow motion. And while the triplechanger was not as agile as Starscream or Thundercracker, he was still far faster than the Autobot he was facing. As he saw how Hardhead turned his charge into a slide, his processors decided on a proper counter move. A short jump backwards both took him away from Hardhead's hands that were reaching for his sword arm and the leg sweep attempt of the Autobot.

"Bold words from a loser!" Blitzwing snarled and brought his electro-scimitar up with his both hands to drive it through the Autobot who apparently was not able to grasp how much more agile the triplechanger was despite his size.

However, luck was on Hardhead's side today. Out of nowhere two blasts hit Blitzwing's exposed back where the remains of his turret were hanging from. A shriek of sudden pain escaped the triplechanger's vocalizer as Annex's blasts caused several short circuits in his back. Short circuits that made him lose the control of his body momentarily. His knees gave in causing him to fall towards Hardhead while his scimitar fell from his graså and shut itself down - no longer fed by energon from the power connection in Blitzwing's hand. "Slaggin..."

Dirge did not understand what Jetfire was after with his stunt. Sure, it forced him to remote detonate his heat-seeker before it would endanger Thrust and while flying so close to Thrust likely rattled the other seeker's composure massively it gained Jetfire little else. Especially as the air guardian decided to break off from his relatively shielded position next to Thrust. Making a turn and playing a chicken with Dirge actually played to Dirge favor as he was the one following Jetfire's movement from afar. As Jetfire was still making his turn, he was already under laser fire from Dirge's laser cannons and as the Autobot launched more missiles towards Dirge, the Decepticon had already done the same.

The heat-seekers from both combatants homed in on each other, leaving Jetfire and Dirge to rely on their shooting skills. While Dirge had rather good aim, Jetfire's speed and the fact that he had to evade the Autobot's own blasts as much as the Autobot had to evade his lasers made scoring hits extremely difficult. While some of Jetfire's blasts scorched him, no managed to avoid any critical hits. Dirge could only hope he had hit the Autobots as the two jets passed each other.

Before neither he or Thrust were able to turn around and engage Jetfire again, new orders were given and Jetfire was already under attack by Starscream himself.

>>"Acknowledged Commander."<< Dirge replied back in his morose way and changed his course back towards the mountain below and its side entrance. As did the other seekers; Ramjet, Thundercracker and Thrust. While he was not thrilled to enter a volcano ready to erupt, he was far less enthusiastic to face the wrath of Megatron.

"Prime....Primes really here?" Hound almost feels his strength returning at the news. "Thank the Matrix. Maybe we'll have someone to tell us not to charge the enemy guns now, haha...OW."

Hound grimaces as he lifts his arm from around Smokescreen. "Hot Spots got me Smokes, you need to be free to work. We need you to work on an escape plan, and to show me where to point my holograms. Even Prime will need help to get us out of this one."

Near Entrance to Bounce Chamber

"I know there will be other breaches, the point of the barricade is to work with the other...WAIT!!" Scrapper tries to explain his plan to Skywarp, but the Seeker teleports away. "Dammit!! Typical Seeker, too busy looking for glory to make a plan!"

The Constructicon Leader turns to the rest of his team. "I realise that any barricade we make will only be a delaying tactic, especially if Prime himself is here, but its better than nothing. Long Haul, Mixmaster, Bonecrusher, secure this entrance as best you can, block it off if you can't. And let me know what other ways out that they have."

The engineer turns to his second. "Hook, You and I need to figure out what we have to work with. Can you remotely access the Bounce system from here, and prevent them from using it? If we have control, we might be able to insert troops into the chamber, or move an Autobot or two to our holding cells. I realise its a gamble, but try it."

Scrapper himself takes a step back and activates his comm. >>Scrapper to All other Decepticons engaging the Autobot intruders. Who is in overall command of the defense? “Fraggit!” Hardhead cursed as Blitzwing leapt back from him as he tried in vain to grab the triplechanger’s sword-wielding arm. Even his attempted leg sweep missed its mark entirely. The green warrior had forgotten just how much faster and more agile his opponent was in comparison to himself and thus he was now in a very compromising position.

Hardhead scrambled to get to his feet as Blitzwing raised his sword up, ready to impale the war veteran and possibly end his existence for good this time. However, that was not the outcome as two shots from Annex’s weapon struck the triplechanger directly in his damaged back, causing the loud mouth ‘Con to scream in pain. Blitzwing’s knees then buckled as he dropped his electro-scimitar and began falling towards the now standing Hardhead.

The veteran soldier grabbed a hold of the triplechanger with both hands and smiled. “Now who’s the loser?” With that said Hardhead picked up Blitzwing and held him up over his head for a moment before then body slamming the ‘Con down onto his wounded back, completely destroying what remained of the enemy’s turret.

With Blitzwing down and seemingly unable to move, Hardhead quickly scooped up his shatterblasters from the floor and pointed one of them directly at the triplechanger. “Game over, ‘Con,” the green Autobot said before firing his weapon at point blank range.

Front Corridor – Outside Entrance to Bounce Chamber

Skywarp kept his aim at the Autobots within the bounce chamber as Breakdown headed towards the Constructicons at the end of the hallway. It was then that Brawn returned fire on the seeker, having been knocked down moments before by the fleeing Stunticon. The blast struck ‘Warp in his chest plate which propelled him back against the far wall of the corridor.

“Slaggit!” Skywarp shouted as he teleported away to avoid any further attacks. He reappeared behind the Constructicons where Scrapper was trying to coordinate an attack with the others inside the base. “We’ve already got troops all around the bounce chamber keeping the Autobots pinned down. But some of them had already escaped through a breach on the other side and are probably looking for a way out of the base,” the prankster replied to Scrapper. “If you want to insert troops into the chamber, I can accommodate you, but I won’t be hanging around in there for too long. Not with Optimus Prime present.”

While Skywarp gave Scrapper an update on the situation, Long Haul moved to secure the bounce chamber entrance the quickest way he could think of. After running down to the doorway, Long Haul quickly blasted the wall-mounted controls with his laser pistol, causing the doors to slide shut. He then pulled out a blow torch and began welding the door seam from top to bottom, which would effectively seal the bounce chamber entrance closed leaving only the breach on the opposite side as the Autobots' only means of escape.

"I hear you, Hound," Smokescreen responded to the green scout. "For now, I would keep your holograms pointed behind us. My smoke cloud is beginning to dissipate, so we'll need the extra cover."

With Hot Spot helping Hound, Smokey was able to move ahead of the group in an attempt to find where Hex had run off to. However, the diversion expert was slowed down as his own wounds were finally taking a toll on him. Damage to his chest plate and headlight were inconsequential and only cosmetic at most. But the wound to his midsection from Wildrider’s earlier blast was beginning to drain his strength as energon continued to seep slowly out and down his leg.

Too bad Hex didn’t share his repair skills back in the storage room, Smokescreen thought as he clutched his abdominal area, a grimace forming on his face plate. It would’ve been helpful, but I shouldn’t have expected any help from him. The red and blue racer had been able to ignore most of the pain thus far, but now it was getting worse as he began to grow weaker.

Keeping his focus on the task at hand, Smokescreen trained his scanners down the corridor as he searched for Hex's signature. He soon picked up a faint Autobot signal and turned back towards Hot Spot and the others. “I think I've located Hex. He's not far from here," Smokey said, motioning down the hallway which led further away from the bounce chamber. "I haven't detected any explosions in this direction, so I don't think he's found a place yet to plant his device. Should I go after him or wait for Prime and the rescue team?"

Before Blitzwing had a chance to recover from the blast that had hit his already damaged back, his gyros were telling him that Hardhead had used his chance and lifted the triplechanger off the ground. That of course was just the beginning of it. What followed was the veteran Autobot using all of his might to slam Blitzwing into the floor, his damaged back being the first thing to hit it. A new set of convulsions hit through his body as the damaged wiring in his back hit the ground.

Given enough time, that alone might have forced the notorious commando into a stasis lock, but Hardhead made sure the triplechanger was out of the fight. A point-blank blast from Hardhead's shatterblaster aimed directly at the canopy on the triplechanger's chest pierced the Decepticon's chest armoring, allowing the diamond sharp shards penetrate deep into his inner workings, thus causing massive damage.

His body badly damaged and spark chamber and memory banks withdrawing into their respective protective casings - Blitzwing fell into a stasis lock.

[OOC: Just to remove possible confusion about this encounter, the outcome had been agreed on by the players involved beforehand.]

Side entrance

With Ramjet having taken the point, Thundercracker followed the better armored seeker through the side entrance into the Decepticon command bunker of Mt. Saint Helens with Thrust and Dirge following closely behind.

They had barely managed to move into the corridor leading away from the side entrance when a small Autobot appeared on the other end of the corridor. The countless drills the seekers had been put through for situations like these took control of Thundercracker's actions. Sending out a signal to the base's central computer to active the hidden defense positions on the corridor, Thundercracker dashed into a niche that had opened into a wall while Thrust and Dirge sought cover behind plates that rose from the floor to give cover from enemy fire.

Having already acquired targeting data, Thundercracker reached out of his cover to fire a burst of incendiary rounds towards Hex's last known position, with Thrust and Dirge following his example by opening fire with their laser cannons towards the already battered Autobot who unfortunately had a rather good chance of jumping behind the corner. Nevertheless, Thundercracker's orders for the other seekers he technically outranked came late given they had already attacked the Autobot. "Destroy the intruder!"

Seeking cover again, Thundercracker tapped into the Decepticon communications network, having just received a query from Scrapper. >>"This is Thundercracker calling the base defense, I have entered the base with Dirge, Ramjet and Thrust through the side entrance. Immediately upon arriving, we have already encountered an Autobot intruder and have opened fire at him. Can you clarify if you have been driving the Autobots towards our current posion?"<<

Conference Room

Darkride let a chuckle escape as he continued to circle the annoying Autobot warrior. This mech was obviously over confident in his prowess and abilities, but Darkride was no slouch when it came to melee combat. The interrogator was very successful in the gladiatorial arena before the war broke out.

It was then that Sunstreaker dropped down and attempted to knock the interrogator down with a quick leg sweep. Darkride reacted fast with a back handspring, landing deftly on his feet some distance from his yellow adversary.

A devilish grin grew on the demented Con’s face as he prepared to egg on his opponent.

“It’s going to be a shame to have to rend you limb from limb. I will try to keep you online for a while so you can bear witness to your downfall.”

Near the Entrance to the Bounce Chamber

Axle chided himself for not staying focused, but actual fighting was not something he excelled in; he was healer, nothing more. The field medic cleared his head and took aim once more at Skywarp, but before he could squeeze off a shot the black and purple Seeker teleported out of the corridor.

“Damnit!”

Axle reassessed the situation quickly and noticed the arrival of the Constructicons. With the arrival of that particular team it meant that any Cons who were out of the fight now would soon be repaired and back in the battle. Axle decided to take the chance and fire on Hook, but before he could level his rifle and squeeze off a shot, Long Haul made his way toward the Bounce Chamber and fired several shots at the control panel. Axle moved to the door as it closed shut.

The medic then heard laser fire just outside the door. He then attempted to open the door, but to no avail. Axle quickly turned and addressed Prime of the situation.

"Prime, the main doors to the chamber has been sealed shut. The Constructicons are on the other side. I think it's safe to assume we won't be using the main though rough fare as an exit. Our only way out is through that breach in the wall at the other end of the chamber."

Corridor

Nightraven cursed as Jazz somersaulted out of the way of her weapon’s fire. The Autobot was extremely agile and a quick move like that should have been expected, but the Seeker femme was not very familiar with this mech’s fighting prowess; in fact she was not very familiar with many of the Bots’ fighting styles.

While still under the guise of her cloak, Nightraven watched as Jazz transformed and sped off toward, what she thought was the rest of his team. As soon as he was out of sight she took off after him. At least while she was cloaked she could do a bit of recon and then get some help.
She quickly opened a private channel with her sister.

>>”Helly! I’m tracking Jazz. I think he’s trying to rendezvous with the rest of his team. I’m sending you my location now. Don’t make me confront a group of angry Bots by myself.”<<

Side Entrance

It hadn’t taken long for Hex to make it to the other end of the long twisted corridor. As he approached the corner he stopped and listened to make sure there were no Cons lying in wait. Once he was sure there was no one there and shot around the corner. Hex’s optics widened in surprise when he saw quartet of Seekers enter into the corridor ahead of him.

Before Hex could act the group quickly took up defensive positions and began firing on him. The young mech dove back around the corner and removed his rifle from his holster. Hex’s optics narrowed as he prepared to fire back on the Seekers. The thought of tearing apart another mech with his bare hands seemed to resonate with him. The process was rather satisfying, almost addictive. Hex nearly began to salivate as he finally peered around the corner and fired on his enemies.

Bounce Chamber
:CON:
Baneblade lumbered through the bounce chamber searching for an Autobot to attack, although he had taken a beating from Hot Spot earlier his thick armour was still holding and he was still being able to fight. He saw fresh Autobot reinforcements arriving, and they were not the confused group that had accidentally bounced into the base. One of them, the red Autobot he identified as Ironhide came charging at him, hands clenched together as he swung a powerful strike towards the larger Decepticons head. Although not fast enough to dodge Baneblade at least could take the hit and he raised his left arm and braced himself as his opponents fists slammed into the armoured plates there. His body shook with the hit and he grunted as pain registered where he was strike as a deep dent was pounded into the armour of his armour.

Not waiting for Ironhide to pull back and prepare another attack Baneblade put a good amount of force behind his arm as he attempted to shove Ironhide back, hoping to knock him off balance. Then as his opponent was hopefully stumbling back Baneblade pushed forward, putting weight on the leg in front of him as he brought around his massive right fist into a strong strike into Ironhide's flank.

Annex hated combat in tight confines whether it was urban enviroments, boarding actions on ships, or fighting in a base like this he never liked being here. He was a ranger, he was used to operating in open spaces where he could find cover and fire at range, to often the fighting in places like this went hand to hand and that was far from Annex's area of expertise. He was a sharpshooter and scout, when it came to throwing punches he was not the strongest not the most talented Autobot in that regard. Granted her carried a combat knife, but that was meant for sneaking up on an unwary enemy and striking him in a fatal spot and dispatching him without a struggled, but if he ever had to slug it out it normally went very badly for him.

As he made his way though the corridors Prime ordered him to help Hardhead and he immediately broke away from the group he had been traveling with and sought out his fellow Autobot. When he came upon him he was fighting with Blitzwing and he watched the whole thing as he saw the two fight it out as he moved down the smoke filled corridor. He tried to line up a few shots with his carbine to help the other Autobot he couldn't land a hit the smoke was to thick and they were moving to fast. A nanosecond after Hardhead put the Decepticon triplechanger into stasis lock the Autobot Ranger emerged from the smoke. With his carbine in his hands Annex approached the other Autobot and looked down at the downed 'Con and grinned back at Hardhead.

"Well seems you put him away but good." Resting the top of his carbine against his shoulder as he held it in one hand. "Prime sent me to give you a hand. Can't say I'm any good with my fists, but I can sure cause some trouble for the 'cons with my rifle here. I'll follow your lead Hardhead so lead on!"

Hangar Bay

The two cassettes hadn’t seen Eject hiding behind the crate as they attacked Prowl. His shots struck Frenzy, forcing him to drop to one knee while he trained to shake the static out of his cerebral circuits. Rumble managed to avoid the shots and dove for cover, returning fire at the Autobot. “You slaggin’ little jerk! Hidin’ back there like a coward! I’ll blow your stupid head off!”

*

Soundwave wasn’t surprised when Blaster took off running. If he were a truly capable warrior he would spend more time in actual combat then his ridiculous broadcasts. While Soundwave always tried to be at Megatron’s side, whether in planning sessions or in the thick of battle, Blaster wasted time trying to boost morale. Soundwave spoke very little, but when he did his words counted. The Autobot, in the broadcasts Soundwave had listened to, wasted words with slang and encouragement. He would enjoy silencing him for good.

The Decepticon continued firing even as Blaster made his move. He was surprised to see him attempting to run up the wall, but pleased to see his flashy stunt fail miserably. It summed him up very well, all flash and no substance. Unfortunately the Autobot’s clumsiness was enough to distract Soundwave for a split second, allowing him to score a hit on the Decepticon’s shoulder.

Soundwave grunted with pain as he grabbed his left shoulder. He went down on one knee to help present a smaller target and to help brace for his next attack. Feeling that his part of the base was a bit more stable he opted to unleash some of his other weapons. He fired off several of his mini rockets from his shoulder mounted launcher, sending them flying towards his Autobot counterpart.

Hellion snarled as the Autobot jumped away from her lunge. She charged at Jazz again only to see him transform and speed away before she could reach him. The seeker punched the wall in front of her in frustration, leaving a sizeable dent in it. Before she could contemplate attacking someone else, whether it be Autobot or Decepticon, she received the signal from Nightraven. With a predatory smile she ran down the corridor towards where Nightraven’s signal was coming from.

As the seeker ran she could see her target racing down the corridor ahead of her. With a straight shot at him she transformed and rocketed down the hallway, her razor sharp wings tearing into the walls as she went. She quickly strafed Jazz with her lasers before flying over and past him. She transformed and landed ahead of him, crouched down so she could pound him if he tried to drive past her.

*

Outside the Decepticon Base

Slipstream could not hide the frown that formed on her face at Starscream’s latest orders. She didn’t appreciate the implication that she was somehow less capable then any other seeker. She knew them all quite well, and while they might be tougher then her, the total cerebral power of them all put together would still be less then that of a common drone. The femme wasn’t about to be perceived as their inferior to anyone else.

The seeker walked over to the now sealed off hangar. She carefully scanned the rocks and what little she could read past them. It seemed to be relatively clear on the other side, at least enough so for her to be willing to take a chance. Powering up her transwarp drive Slipstream disappeared in a flash of light.

*

Conference Room

Sunstreaker grunted as Darkride handily dodged his attack. He was a bit quicker then the warrior had anticipated. Still, he felt confident that he could take on this Con. He had certainly fought and beaten bigger opponents in the past. This would just be another victory on his scorecard.

“Talk, talk, talk, that’s all you Cons ever do. It’s no wonder I always beat you clowns. You’re too busy wasting fuel powering your vocalizer to actually fight worth a slag.” As he spoke he maneuvered over to the table in the center of the room and more specifically one of the chairs. He kicked the chair over to the Decepticon, know it would at least distract him for a split second, and that’s all he needed.

The warrior closed the distance rapidly and launched a rapid right and left jab at his face. He didn’t hesitate and followed it up with a powerful right uppercut before stepping back, either to watch the smaller Con fall or to be ready for his counterattack. He suspected the former, but he was prepared for the latter.

*

Near Entrance to Bounce Chamber

Hook shook his head at Scrapper. “Negative Scrapper. With all of the fighting going on in there the chamber controls were destroyed. We might be able to work it remotely but I’m not sure if I would trust those systems either, not to mention the risk of bouncing someone in there blindly. I wouldn’t want to materialize someone inside of an Autobot standing in the same spot.”

The surgical engineer let out a sigh. This was going to come down to an ugly fight. He detested such unorganized chaos, not to mention the time and effort it would take to repair and clean everything up afterwards.

*

Corridor

Hot Spot let a relieved smile form on his face. >>”Optimus sir, if you don’t mind my language, its slagging good to hear from you. We are on the other side of the chamber, in a corridor we came into after blasting a hole out of the bounce chamber. We are trying to fight our way out but me and my team are in dire straits here sir. We’ve all taken a pounding and we could use some definite back up.”<<

The Protectobot leader offered a genuine smile to Hound and Smokescreen. “Prime is in the base now. It’s only a matter of time until he gets us out of here, so we don’t have to worry about following Hex around. Hopefully he can manage his own way out of here and we’ll rendezvous with him back at base. We just need to get back to the bounce chamber and meet up with them.”

The Autobot started to turn around, still helping Hound, when he heard the pounding of heavy footfalls coming down the corridor. Smokescreen’s smoke was still making things hard to make out, but he could see a pair of red glowing optics coming right at them. A shadowy outline quickly became visible, followed by a fist emerging from the smoke and smashing into Hot Spot’s head.

The blow was powerful, more then enough to knock the Protectobot clean off his feet. He flew backwards into a wall, smashing into it with a powerful crash. His optics went dark as he fell into stasis lock, all of the damage just being too much for him.

Megatron wasted little time with the Autobots. With Hot Spot cleared from his path he merely brushed past Hound, Smokescreen and Lore-Lock the two Autobots being beneath his notice.

*

Bounce Chamber

Megatron leapt through the hole Hound had created earlier in the chamber. He rolled up onto one knee and quickly unleashed a blast from his fusion canon at Optimus Prime. The Autobot leader dodged the shot, just as he knew he would. The blast slammed into the wall, blowing a hole in it and another wall behind it, ripping and opening to the outside of the base.

The Decepticon leader jumped up and charged at Prime, slamming into him and carrying them both out of the base. They slammed into the ground together but quickly sprung back to their feet, circling each other. Megatron took the moment to send a signal to his troops.

>>”Decepticons, this is Megatron. I have created a new exit from the base through the Bounce Chamber and Hallway 3B. The Autobots will likely make for it as the closest and most obvious escape point. It will also create a bottleneck. Move towards it and eliminate them as they try to escape.”<<

He then sent out additional signals, bolstered by the base communication system. Then, he finally spoke to his ages old enemy.

Prime, you have invaded my base, broken infiltration protocols and ruined my plans for the last time. For this I will burn you and this world to ashes. There will be a reckoning, devastation on this world the likes of which you have never seen.” His right hand slid into his arm, replaced by an energy weapon emitter. The device activated, forming an energon mace attached by an emitted chain. Megatron began whirling the weapon around. “This world will be destroyed and you will only have yourself to blame Optimus.”

Jazz actually thought the Femmes didn't really care weather or not he could escape, but Jazz was horribly wrong.

Hellion transformed and fired on him, the laser bolts struck Jazz hard on his canopy, riddling it with many holes. Jazz grunted under the pain. The next assault came in the form of physics; Hellion whipped by him in her jet mode, and the following tail-wind sent Jazz's vehicle mode flipping through the air, so he transformed.

He did a mid-air twist, then a somersault, and using the momentum from his vehicle mode, he then launched himself at the wall. Jazz somersaulted in mid-air, landing his feet on the wall lightly, and thrust them out at the wall, sending him soaring at Hellion, Jazz fired his weapon at her in his twisting aerial move, he then (When in range of meelee) used all of his momentum and weight into a massive punch at Hellion's face.

Jazz (After the punch) then spun past Hellion and transformed again, but not before saying, "Like I said, I don't hit Femmes, but for you, I can make an exception!"

Jazz drove for several seconds at top speed when he came to Hound, Smokescreen, and the Stasis Locked remains of Hot Spot.

Jazz Transformed and turned to Smokescreen "Smokey! How are you doing? Terrible? Okay, I just need a favor, my coming here, sorta, erm..." Jazz faltered, "Brought some seekers here?"

He then turned to Hound, "I will not ask you to do anything you either can't or won't do, and just so you know, you look terrible!" Jazz knelt down and put his hand on Hound's shoulder, "Can you wield a gun?"

Jazz has a plan, and it might just work.

"Okay guys, this is what my plan is... *Whisper* *Whisper*" Jazz said to them as he began to speak his plan.

OoC: By the way, I didn't think that both putting a hand on Hound was moving characters, or throwing a massive punch at Hellion for that matter, if I goofed up, PLEASE TELL ME and the problem will be fixed, and you have the right reserved to call me an idiot.

As soon as Hex peeked from his cover to take a shot at the seekers on the other end of the corridor, filled the air with laser fire, forcing the Autobot to withdraw from sight unless he wanted to become a pool of molten slag. However, Megatron's sudden transmission evened the odds for Hex. Having not heard from any other Decepticons inside the base, Thundercracker weighted his options for couple of astroseconds before dashing out of his shelter and towards the still open entrance, barking out directions for the other seekers that he hoped them to follow - particularly in Ramjet's case. Dirge and Thrust had no guts question him whatsoever.

"Ramjet, Thrust! Slag that Autobot and move deeper to confront the rest! Dirge! Come with with me!"

With Thrust and Ramjet giving them cover fire, the two seekers dashed out of the base and back into the air in order to set up a trap to the end of the blast hole Megatron had created.

Hangar

His systems finally kick starting after the unlucky event that had thrown debris from the exploding Hangar doors on him and knocked him out - Astrotrain felt power returning into his body. He was still feeling groggy from the explosion and there was something wrong with his vision given everything seemed so blurry but it did not stop the triplechanger. Putting his massive strength into work, Astrotrain pushed the debris that had fallen on him aside and stood up.

Shaking his head and reaching down to grab his ion rifle from the compartment within his thigh, the large Decepticon suddenly realized he was almost in a middle of a battlefield. Given his damaged audioreceptors and blurry vision, he had to spend a moment to just stare at the shapes moving around in the hangar before being able to make an educated guess on the fighters involved.

It appeared that Soundwave had finally gotten a chance to settle his score with Blaster and of course, their smaller minions were involved. That was not a battle he would get involved in unless Soundwave approved and given that the communications officer surely already knew that the triplechanger was up again, orders would follow quickly.

Outside

Jetfire took a grazing from Dirge as the two exchanged fire, however it did little to neutralize the Seeker. It was only moments later that a third seeker joined in, this one from above, with a red and gray color scheme. Thrust and Dirge then seemed to back off while this one took over, indicating it had some authority over them.

Only a second later was this confirmed when a familiar voice contacted him. It was Starscream.

>>“Starscream! Yet it's not surprising to find you here. I guess you've yet to discover how to overthrow Megatron from light-years away. That always was one of your greater weaknesses.”<<

Though on opposite sides, Jetfire had always heard of the numerous gambits Starscream had made in his attempts to overthrow Megatron. What amazed Jetfire was Megatron's own patience with the treacherous seeker. Most Decepticons would have met their end, yet possibly because no other Decepticon had ye tto prove their worth greater than Starscream was the reason the Decepticon leader kept him around. Jetfire often wondered if that was why Megatron always kept Soundwave close by, to watch his back in case Starscream tried something.

Jetfire had engaged Starscream on multiple accounts, however, the vast majority of those engagements always ended in stalemates or draws due to circumstance. But here, Jetfire needed to get past Starscream. The other Autobots needed him. He had no time to decisively settle past vendettas.

Jetfire quickly shifted his rudders to evade Starscream's incoming Null Ray blasts and hit his afterburners to try and put a little distance between himself and Starscream. Jetfire knew Starscream would follow him, putting the guardian on the defensive, but as long as he wasn't shot down, that was fine. He had plenty of countermeasures.

Jetifire then took off, his nose pointed upwards towards higher altitudes. There was only one place the two could fight properly, in the skies high above.

Corridors

Prowl sped down the corridors, towards the Command Center. Thus far, he had encountered no Decepticons, but he was certain there wasn't one far. He was in the Decepticons current Headquarters after all.

There was another minor quake. It troubled the strategist. This region had already been devastated by a volcanic eruption from this mountain, not a century prior. And there were signs of the region still in recovery. Prowl still had to get that scrambler down first, then analyze the status of the mountain. If he ahd time, he could possibly devise a means to minimize the damage to the region, perhaps within the immediate vicinity of the mountain itself.

He followed a layout of a standard Decepticon base they had acquired long ago on Cybertron. Aside a few variances, possibly accommodating for the use of the mountain as a base, it was mostly the same. He then came to a screeching halt as he arrived at what should be the command Center. The door itself was larger, able to fit two to three possible transformers at the same time. Prowl then transformed back into robot mode, brandishing his Acid Pellet Rifle just in case he encountered any enemy units.

Walking towards the door, it slid open. Prowl had suspected there might be a lock on it, but then again Megatron and Soundwave may have been in a hurry to leave, or they were outright abandoning the base, as the instability of the mountain supported. He walked in, finding the command center to be typical in design, save the throne that sat atop an incline. Prowl never thought of Megatron to be the type to sit on a throne. That was something he saw being more towards Starscream's character.

He spotted some consoles running and walked over towards them, while remaining alert, anticipating the possibility he had been followed. Prowl also noted a number of vents in which smaller enemies could possibly crawl through to get to him.

Still, if he was to engage a Decepticon, he at the very least, needed to make an effort to shut down that scrambler before that happened. He ran over to one of the consoles and began pressing buttons, sorting through the various base systems, completely ignoring any possible luxury of digging through the Decepticon's database. Time was of the essence.

Lore-locked could only stare as Megatron knocked Hot Spot to the side like some light weight training drone. Then Jazz showed up, and whispered something about a plan. at which he had his own idea.

"My plan, we find Hex, and get ourselves outta this slag pit before things get any worse than they have. We three are in a serious bit of hurt here, Jazz, and I really don't think we have much in the way of heroics left in us. Plus Hot Spot is all locked up."

With his peace said, he focused in on the crazy scout's signal, and even risked a message to the up-start.

"Thanks, Hot Spot. You've led us through a tight spot, even when we acted like idiots, and now we're nearly out. I'm glad I got to-" Hound stops as the massive figure walks right through the group like they weren't there, scattering them across the corridor.

"Ahk...That was...Megatron.." Hound is dazed, the fluid loss contributing to his ability to say the obvious. He tries wrestling himself up off the floor, with only partial success. Then, in another of a long string of miracles, Jazz appeared.

"Kuh, glad to see another of the old guard." Hound shakily gets to his feet as the veteran speaks. "Right...Holos still working, I'll need a minute. Smokes is in a bad way too, so if you need someone to do some shooting, it has to be you and Lorelock.

Slowly, a group of virtual Autobots appears, with a second Prime leading a squad of troops. Hopefully the other Autobots present wouldn't be confused as well as the Decepticons.

Outside the Bounce Chamber

Scrapper listens to both the reporting defenders and to Hooks analysis. "Hrrm, I figured. But it was worth asking. Thankfully, Long Haul and the others have sealed them in, so we can focus on that breach. Ok, lets-"

Scrapper is cut off brutally by a section of wall behind him vaporising and a new tunnel being made through the base. He turns just in time to see Megatron and Prime thunder through, then he receives his leaders message.

Eh...I guess we didn't factor into our leaders plans. Best to just call it my mistake, and compensate. "Constructicons, regroup and prepare a flanking position!! Skywarp, help us set up this ambush! Everyone else, close on the far breach and get the Autobots moving!! We can't fail now!!"

Snowcap hears Scrapper and commences a systems reboot. He rises quickly, ignoring the pain of his ruined jaw as he steels himself for an attack. He then heads towards the other breech, ready to freeze the bots solid so that he could mangle them far worse than he was.

Corridor

Skyjack had stopped heading to the Bounce Chamber the moment he saw Hound. At first he was going to decloak and finish him off but then the other Autobots arrived. He then bore witness to Hound's ruse and decided to capitalize on it. After all who could tell he was there the whole time like this?

I mean if they happened to cripple other squads it'd put the Cyberjets in more active duties with more chances to curry Megatron's favor, or at least him for revealing the ruse. He decided to follow them for now, hidden and ever watching.

Conference Room

The chair that Sunstreaker had used as a distraction worked in his favor, for he was able to get in close enough to land some very powerful blows. The golden warrior then quickly stepped back and took up a defensive stance in anticipation of Darkride’s possible counter maneuvers. However, there were none. Following Sunstreaker’s fierce right uppercut, Darkride’s head was thrown back violently, but the unimposing Con never fell to the floor, instead he simply lowered his head and focused his crimson optics on the form of his opponent. A stream of energon trailed from his nose and the corner of his mouth as he let out an evil chuckle.

“It really is no wonder why I had never seen you in the arena; especially if that’s all you have.”

The interrogator brought his arm up to his mouth and wiped the energon from his lips. His optics narrowed and his demeanor darkened as he spoke once more.

“My turn, Sunstreaker.”

Darkride’s thigh opened up revealing a storage compartment; he quickly took hold of his energo whip and ignited the weapon. The device crackled with energy as he brought it up above his head and swiftly whipped it toward his opponent. Once he had the weapon around Sunstreaker he would drag him in for the kill.

Corridor

Still bathed in the power of her cloaking device, Nightraven was relieved when her sister finally arrived. Not bothering to stop, Hellion transformed and took off after Jazz. While she prepared to engage the annoying Autobot alongside her sister, Nightraven noticed that one of the Bots had broken off from the rest and was speeding down a side corridor.

The Seeker femme quickly made her way down the hall and observed the mech enter the command center. Nightraven quickly followed behind him before the door slid shut. Once inside Prowl made his way to Soundwave’s station and began trying to access the base’s systems. Unfortunately, the system was created by Soundwave himself, therefore it would be nearly impossible for just any mech to crack the security protocol, which consisted of entering the correct codes.

Once satisfied that the Autobot was not likely to get what he was after, Nightraven took aim with her arm mounted lasers and let loose a volley of weapons fire, and with her cloak still engaged Prowl would never know who or where the attack was coming from.

Side Entrance

As soon as the gathered Seekers had filled the corridor with laser fire, Hex quickly withdrew his cranial unit and sat back against the wall directly around the corner. He brought his hand up to the side of his head and hissed in slight pain. One of the fliers got lucky, but it was only a graze, nothing that would keep the young mech down. It was then that he received the comm from Lore-Lock. Hex let out a sigh as he opened a link to the other mech.

>>“I'm busy. And since I'm not there, Hot Spot’s your problem now; deal with it. As far as you finding a way out, I have complete faith in you and your little band of merry men. Now, don’t contact me again.”<<

Hex closed the link and let out a low grunt. He needed to get out of here, but with those Seekers at the end of the hall there was no way he’d make out in one piece. Think Hex. You’ve been in tight situations before. He took a quick glance at the explosive he constructed early that he placed on the floor. Oh well. There goes my exit door. The young mech grabbed the explosive and set the timer at the same time. Once there was a lull in the artillery fire, he quickly threw the device around the corner where it quickly rolled toward Dirge and Ramjet. Seconds later the device detonated sending shockwaves down the hall and causing debris to fill the area.

Hex steadied himself as he ran back the way he had come, but this time he detoured down another passageway. In his mind there had to be another way out of this base, but without schematics of the layout it was a crapshoot that he’d even be successful. Carefully he stalked deeper never even realizing that he was being followed.

His trek was abruptly ended as he came to a dead end. “Perfect.”

“You can say that again, Autobot.”

Hex spun around only to come face to face with a Con brandishing a rifle. He wasn’t as large as your typical Decepticon which meant that he wasn’t a warrior by function. Good, gives me a better chance at getting out of this, Hex rationalized.

Hangar Bay :BOT:

“Here I am stuck on the wrong side of the power play, and I don’t have the first clue how long my guys are in the penalty box,” Eject grumbled as Rumble’s blasts tore into the crates he was using for cover. On the upside, Prowl seemed to have gotten away clean. Both of the Casseticons had fallen for Eject’s distraction, but of course, that meant he actually had to deal with both of them now. Come to think of it, the upside wasn’t all that great…

“You call it cowardice, I call it a good game plan Bumble ol’ pal!” Eject yelled back firing back a few blind shots of his own. He really didn’t expect to hit anything, but his cover was good enough that Rumble didn’t have much of a chance of hitting him either. If his opposite number wanted him, he’d have to come and dig him out.

:BOT:

Blaster rolled sideways trying to get clear of Soundwave’s rocket barrage. He knew he had almost no chance of getting clear, but he tried anyway. Tried and failed. The mini-rockets slammed him around like a rag-doll, ripping the ground around him to rubble, and leaving the armor across his back and shoulders scorched and smoking. He was rattled, but he’d never show it, especially not to this opponent.

“Not bad Soundwave,” Blaster quipped, rolling back to his feet, “but I’ve taken worse beatings in a mosh pit.” He flashed his adversary an insolent grin, one that was sure to make his antifreeze boil over. “I’ve just never understood why someone as ‘unchrasimatic’ as you ever went into communications. I mean - you’ve got no rhythm son!” With the last word, Blaster leapt into the air, aiming a flying kick at the center of Soundwave’s chest.

Bounce Chamber :BOT:

Baneblade was strong, probably as strong as Ironhide himself. He packed a hell of a lot of firepower, enough to level a city at range, and he was almost as durable as the old red security mech. What the ‘con wasn’t was much good in a good old fashioned brawl. Oh he wasn’t bad. Against the average mech in the street he’d have been just fine, but Ironhide wasn’t the average mech. He’d been brawling since before Baneblade’s first circuit path had been laid, or his first rivet soldered.

When Baneblade shoved forward, attempting to knock him off balance, Ironhide was ready. He stepped back with the move, letting Baneblade think he saw an opening, and then when the big ‘con took the bait and swung, Ironhide was able to step inside the larger mech’s guard, and swing a pair of short, nasty punches at Baneblade’s much less heavily armored sides.

Mountain Side :BOT:

No sooner had Megatron driven them through the wall of the base creating a new exit, than Prime had thrown himself clear and regained his feet, and while Megatron took the opportunity to relay commands to his troops, Prime had no such chance. The Decepticon jamming field that was still in place effectively cut Prime’s ability to communicate with his team.

As Megatron activated his flail and stepped forward, ranting about the destruction he was about to unleash, Optimus engaged his own energo-axe and stood ready. He wasn’t impressed by Megatron’s tirade. Wary, yes. Megatron was never one to be taken lightly, but they had met too many times, and were too evenly matched for Prime to be shaken by Megatron’s grand pronouncements.

“The only reckoning will be yours with your maker Megatron,” Optimus replied boldly, as he charged forward, his axe swinging a deadly, glowing arc at the Decepticon leader’s head.

Hallways near side entrance :CON:

Ramjet glanced at Thrust as Thundercracker started barking orders then just shrugged and complied, opening fire with his arm cannons down the hallway. If Hex had even stuck his head out, the withering fire he and Thrust were laying down would have taken it from Hex’s shoulders. Unfortunately it wasn’t Hex’s head the came rolling around the corner. It was several pounds worth of explosives.

“Oh holy frag!” Ramjet barked, hurling himself at Thrust to put his much more heavily armored frame between his fellow seeker and the explosion that was sure to come. Ramjet landed heavily on top of Thrust just as a massive shockwave slammed into him, followed by roiling fire and a rain of metal and rock debris.

Due to his intervention, Thrust was largely unhurt, but Ramjet looked like he’d just been shot down. The armor on his back was blackened and dented, covered with deep gouges, and places where the metal itself had melted. Still the tough-as-nails conehead clambered to his feet, shaking his head to clear the ringing.

“I’m gonna gut that little glitch when I get my hands on him,” he growled. “You see any way we can get back inside from here Thrust? This passage is slagged.”

Outside :BOT:

Sideswipe couldn’t help but grin as Space Case challenged him to hand to hand combat. He slammed on his brakes, skidded to a halt and transformed.

“You don’t know how big a mistake you just made pal,” Sideswipe said, grinning savagely and assuming a fighting stance. He held up one hand and made a come hither gesture. “Bring it.”

Outside

"Maybe it is Autobot but I got a good idea that you're not ready for my kind of speed. I got moves that puts Starscream to shame." Space Case blindly gloats to Sideswipe. "Now...let's see what you got." Space Case kicks in his afterburners and rockets towards his foe, making it look like he was going to hit him with his club but then he pressed the button and began turning his trajectory upwards. He does and aerial flip over Sidsewipe, dropping his armed club behind him and rocketing off in the other direction. "What's wrong?" He says as he rearms himself. "To fast for ya?"

No sooner had Hot Spot replied to Smokescreen’s query regarding Hex then Megatron, himself, appeared and knocked the Protectobot Commander down, sending him into immediate stasis lock. “Hot Spot!” Smokey exclaimed as the Decepticon leader ignored him and the others, entering the bounce chamber to engage Prime in combat. What followed was a loud crashing sound as the two leaders made their own exit out of the base.

Smokescreen quickly knelt down beside Hot Spot, his scanners gliding across the Protectobot’s inert form. “He’s out for the count. Deep stasis, I’m afraid.” Jazz then appeared and began whispering a plan to the diversion expert. Smokey glanced over at his music loving friend. “Hey Jazz. Good to see you. I’m in pretty bad shape. We all are. Your plan sounds fine, but I’m afraid I’m not gonna be able to help too much as I’m losing a lot of energon and my strength is fading fast.”

Smokescreen then listened to Lore-lock’s plan before the scout sent a message to Hex. The response from the young mech was not surprising. “I didn’t figure he’d care about us, Lore-lock,” Smokey sighed. “Forget him. He’s on his own as far as I’m concerned. What we need to focus on now is getting Hot Spot out of here. I’m not strong enough normally to pick him up let alone now that I’m low on energon. We’re gonna need someone big to help us.”

The red and blue Autobot opened up his comm line to any other Autobot in the vicinity. He knew of the jamming signal within the ‘Con base, but Prime was able to get a signal through just barely before, so maybe Smokey could now. >>”To any Autobot close by, this is Smokescreen. Hot Spot is in stasis and the rest of us are in bad shape. We need assistance in the side corridor.”<< Smokey then closed out his comm line and looked down to Hot Spot again. Hopefully, someone would arrive soon to assist them with their fallen team commander.

Corridor Approaching Bounce Chamber

Smiling, Hardhead watched as his diamond-hard shards burrowed deep into Blitzwing’s chest cavity. Within moments, the triplechanger was in stasis lock and the green mech was satisfied. Payback had finally been delivered and not an astrosecond too soon.

Annex then approached Hardhead and told him that he was there to help. “Well, you’ve already been a big help, Annex. Two of your previous shots hit Blitzwing in his back which allowed me to get the upper hand on him. So, thank you.” The war veteran then assessed the situation elsewhere as he made his way towards the bounce chamber.

As he approached the front corridor, Hardhead saw Long Haul sealing the bounce chamber door shut with the sounds of combat coming from inside the room. That could only mean that there were Autobots inside that now had one less exit because of the Constructicon transport. “Hey, Long Haul! Get the frag away from there!” Hardhead bellowed as he lunged towards the green ‘Con and gave him a swift back hand across the faceplate, sending the smaller mech flying down the front corridor to where the rest of the Constructicons along with Skywarp were positioned.

Annex! We got Constructicons down here! Open fire on them!” Hardhead shouted to his comrade as he then pulled out his two shatterblasters and unleashed a barrage on the Constructicons.

As he concealed himself within the door frame of the sealed bounce chamber, Hardhead received a garbled message from Smokescreen. He could barely make it out due to all the interference, but he could tell by the tone of the diversion expert’s voice that he was in need of help. >>”Hang on. I’ll be there shortly!”<<

Hardhead then turned towards Annex again. “Keep the Constructicons busy here while I go help the others.” The Autobot soldier then emerged from his cover and darted down the side corridor.

Side Corridor

Hardhead waded through the smoke that still hung in the air. Once he was on the other side of the dissipating cloud, he passed by the wall breach leading into the bounce chamber. Stopping for a moment, Hardhead peered inside and noticed that there was yet another breach on the opposite end that led out of the base where Prime and Megatron were currently engaged in battle.

Moving beyond the bounce room, Hardhead encountered Hound’s holograms with a fake Prime in the lead. It was a nice distraction for the stupid ‘Cons, but the images did not fool Hardhead. Finally, he reached Smokescreen, Jazz, Lore-lock, Hound and Hot Spot, the latter of which was in stasis. “He’s seen better days,” the green warrior remarked as he knelt down beside the Protectobot leader.

“It was Megatron,” Smokescreen replied with a worried expression. “I’m too weak to lift him and the rest of us aren’t in much better shape.”

“I can carry him. There’s another breach on the other side of the bounce chamber that leads outside. It’s our only option, but it looks like it’s a bottle neck through there. So, those of you who are wounded remain behind me under cover while I try to blast us a path to safety.” Hardhead then grabbed Hot Spot’s inert form and lifted the Protectobot up and over his right shoulder. “Let’s go. Keep using your holograms, Hound. They’ll help confuse the ‘Cons as we make our escape from this slaghole. Jazz, keep an optic open for Hellion. I thought I saw her somewhere nearby.” Hardhead then turned and headed back for the bounce chamber.

Corridor Near Bounce Chamber Entrance

Long Haul landed with a thud back down the hallway from the bounce chamber. Hardhead’s hit was powerful, knocking the transport’s circuits for a loop. “Ahh, my aching head!” Long Haul grunted as he scrambled to get to cover as the Autobot opened fire on them. However, before he could return fire, a thunderous crash emanated through the corridors as Megatron’s fusion cannon created a new breach in Corridor 3B that led out onto the mountainside. The Decepticon leader’s transmission then came in loud and clear and Long Haul readied himself.

Meanwhile, Skywarp took in everything that was happening around him and carefully decided on his next course of action. First, he returned fire on Hardhead, but did not score a hit before the large green ‘Bot made his escape down the side corridor. That left only the ranger Annex to deal with. "Scrapper, you and your team head for the new breach while I take care of the Autobot ranger!” The seeker shouted as he then teleported away.

Reappearing closer to Annex, Skywarp took aim with his arm-mounted lasers and opened fire. "You're no match for me, ranger!"
