War Within fits better with the marvel Comics continuity. war Within was written by Simon Furman, who was the Writer for transformers at most of Marvel U.K. and the last one for Marvel US. He had to fix all ofthe losse ends and try to make things work into a single continuity. The Bob Budiansky, as well as favoered by Furman, idea that was in the Comics was that the dinobots were awakened on the ark during the days of the Dinosaurs, actually Marvels Savage Land, to battle the newly arrived Shockwave. They defeated him, but were lost in a pool of tar and later searched out by Buster the comics version of Spike, actually spikes little brother) and Ratchet when the decepticons had captiured Optimus Prime and were using the Matrix program from his head to try to create new Decepticons. I always thought of the War Within Dynobots, as in Dynamic. I like their first two series of War Within subgroup name better. LSC = Lightening Strike Coalition.

War Within might better suit the Marvel Continuity but for a few things;
It contradicts loads of things from the Marvel Comics, not just backstory, including who Prime was before he inherited the Matrix (DW continuity, he was an archivist/statistician, Marvel he was commander of the Autobot Air Force leading to bitterness from Swoop), Prime and Megatron's pre-war Gladiatorial careers, and there's a distinct lack of major players like the old Autobot Council (Especially Xaaron). There were no "Special Teams" in Marvel until far later as well, no TF's combined in Cybertron's History like they did in War Within part 2.
The DW comics continuity runs directly on from the 3 War Within series, including the (admittedly terrible) Micromasters line. WW is an alternate Cybertronian history to the Marvel one, and can't really be reconciled simply because it's so different. Sure, it's Furman re-writing Cybertronian History, but it doesn't work if you try and have it be part of his earlier G1 work.

The LSC was only the name for the Dinobots and Kup in WWi2, as well. Volume 1, they were all 'Autobots'.

Plus... what did that have to do with Tramp's comment? >_>; It was already kind of established that both sets of comics had far less crappy Dinobot origins to the US cartoon.

I just wanted to elaborate a bit on the comic origion of the dinobots in the marvel series and a bit on the Dreamwave one. I am not well read on Simons UK releases and background. What I know about that comes from interviews and talking to other Transfans.
As the come more available to me, I will try to get read up on the stuff.

I do know that Simon is using the newer dreamwave and now IDW platforms to better create a more fluent continuity for the transformers.

i do like the LSC as an group idea rather than the name dynobots. It better fits the idea of a group allegiance, coalition, than prefabricated group.
Later there will be something better here.

Well, the LSC was a splinter group of the Autobots that was created after Prime?s disappearance. It was made up of more than just the Dynobots. It also included other Autobots. The Dynobots was Grimlock?s personal squad?the original five, Grimlock included? and are what later became the Dinobots.

Decepticon Inferno

I'll take that as a no then.

As for Inferno being a Decepticon, think of Energon Inferno, Megatron for a short while almost made him a Decepticon. What if that's the Inferno that was on the Maximal ship, the one who later became the Predacon Inferno?

Motto: ""Fool! Pain is my friend; allow my to introduce YOU to it!""
All your canon and continuity issues are irrelevant in the wake of Inferno! He exists in all continuities simultaneously for the glory of the Royalty!!!!!!!
