“Don’t worry about a thing, Brawn. I got this,” Jazz tried his best to look like he knew exactly what he was doing. He had a pretty good idea what he was doing and that was going to have to do today.

Jazz took his trusty photon rifle in hand and gave it a loving pat. “Ok baby. Do this one thing for daddy and I’ll buy you a nice new diamond focal lens.” Jazz looked to Brawn to make sure he was ready. He counted a couple of astro-seconds then shout to Brawn, “Now!”

When Brawn made the connection, Jazz squeezed the trigger. Time seemed to stand still as the photon blast made it’s way to the control panel. It was close, but Jazz could see he hit the spot perfectly. Electricity crackled all around them for a moment, and then a green light illuminated indicating success. “Alright! No sweat, eh Brawn?”

Ocean Floor

Brawn let out a sigh of relief as Jazz's little stunt worked. he wasn't sure exactly what to make of it, but the door was now functional.

"Not too bad Jazz." Brawn said, complimenting his long-time comrade. But now they needed to move along. "Okay Autobots, let's get this job done!"

Brawn then pressed the button, and the door slid open. Instantly, water began to pour in and Brawn was the first to be caught by the flow of water. Prowl followed immediately after, assuming Smokescreen and Jazz were right behind him.

Brawn hit the wall of the corridor, but luckily for him, he was built to take a beating. Prowl also took a hit to the wall, but recovered quickly, shaking the effects of the impact off.

Prowl knew that they needed the ship as dry as possibly so they could work efficiently. They needed to close the door.

"We need to close that door!" he yelled, over the loud roar of water. "I'll head for the bridge. hopefully the console is still intact. Jazz, take this maintenance attachment!"

He handed Jazz the second maintenance kit he had gotten from the storage on the Ark. This would allow him to help extract the components they needed to secure.

"You'll extract the computer core. If you got the rest of the equipment I asked for, now's the time to distribute it!" he told Jazz. "Everyone, Megatron probably knows there's energon on this vessel and he'll want to know where it came from. So chances are we may encounter Soundwave. I had Jazz collect some net casters. If you have one of Soundwave's minions attack you, you know what to do. Just neutralize them! Priority is to secure the energon, however, this does not mean we should allow the Decepticons to acquire the data stored in this ship and gain an additional source from where he can draw energy. Wherever Blaster got this energon, we should try to protect it."

Brawn took a net caster from Jazz. he had to admit, Prowl had a pretty decent solution for dealing with the cassettes. Eliminate them and Soundwave is fair game. However, he knew Rumble and Frenzy wouldn't hold long.

"I gotcha Prowl." Brawn replied. "Come on Smokescreen, lets see this energon stash Blaster brought!"

Brawn made his way down the corridor towards storage.

Hellion looked around once the orbital bounce was complete. She still wasn’t happy about all of this. Who took new weapons, with zero training, into a foreign environment like this? Sure, she would be ok once things go up close and personal, and a couple of the others could probably hold their own in a fist fight but most seekers were all about maneuverability and that wasn’t going to work here.

Oh well, she was just another warrior, and obviously her opinion wasn’t wanted or needed. If the mission failed it wasn’t going to be her fault at least. She transformed and raced after the others.

*

Soundwave materialized next to the other Decepticons. He immediately began scanning his surroundings and the local radio frequencies. Everything seemed to be in order and they were where they were supposed to be.

Soundwave listened as Krunix addressed him. He wasn’t particularly familiar with this Decepticon, but he seemed competent. At the very least he wasn’t another seeker. That alone earned him a bit more respect then the rest of this team. Of course, the fact that Starscream felt it was necessary to put another Decepticon to help with communications was personally insulting to him. That probably knocked Krunix down a bit in his optics. Still, he wasn’t going to mistreat or ignore him just because of his own feelings on the matter. The mission was important and he would not fail in it.

“Additional assistance should not be required. Should communications fail,” something Soundwave found highly unlikely, “messengers can be used.” The Decepticon’s chest opened, ejecting a cassette that transformed into Laserbeak. The robotic bird promptly perched himself on Soundwave’s arm. He glared at Krunix, not particularly happy at the prospect of being a messenger in the middle of a battle. Hopefully things wouldn’t be too bad, he wasn’t about to risk his spark just to deliver orders to some other Decepticon.

With a signal from Soundwave Laserbeak leapt off of his arm and transformed, sliding back into his chest compartment. The Decepticon turned as Starscream gave the order to move out. Soundwave transformed and launched into the air, landing in Starscream’s open cockpit. While he could fly he knew that riding inside of Starscream would be far quicker.

Thundercracker was fairly comfortable being equipped with hyper velocity mass drivers that were developed on Cybertron originally for under surface operations in the Rust Sea. These weapons were used to great success by Decepticon under surface specialists like Finback, Submarauder and the Seacons on many worlds with only minor modifications. Even better, these weapons were effective even on surface. The real reason behind the limited use of these rail guns was that these weapons were far less cost-efficient and required more maintenance than the standard laser cannons the seekers used. Add the fact that one had to carry the ammunition for these weapons unlike with lasers did have drawback of its own. Nevertheless, Hellion's concerns about the effectiveness of these rail guns were misplaced as long as she'd bother to aim, then again - the berserker's battle strategy was likely not going to include much of ranged combat to begin with. Even the their torpedoes were far superior to those of the humans. Smaller, faster and more agile yet with far more destructive potential. And at least one could use them underwater unlike missiles.

No, their weapons did not worry Thundercracker at all. The foreign element that was the salt water itself was far more disturbing. The water pressure would not be an issue, but they were going to lose their speed and agility there. Dodging human torpedoes would be challenging in those depths let alone Cybertronian ones if the Autobots had them.

It was Blitzwing who voiced the opinion Thundercracker shared himself as the two Decepticons transformed and landed next to Starscream on the ocean floor. "Where the slag are the Seacons when you need them?! This planet is covered mostly with water anyhow! Snaptrap's gang would dominate here!"

At Starscream's command, Skywarp leapt from the edge of the cliff and transformed into his F-22 Raptor mode. Following Screamer's path, 'Warp kept low to the water's surface as he flew out over the Gulf of Mexico towards the crash site. He was eager for a fight, especially after the debacle back at their headquarters. The Autobots had just walked on in and taken Bumblebee back and made the seekers look like inadequate drones instead of the elite fliers that they were. That humiliation would not go unpunished and would definitely not happen for a second time.

Once they were close to the crash site, Skywarp dove into the surf beneath him and followed Starscream down to the ocean floor. The teleporter landed alongside his commander and the rest of the Decepticons. Hearing Blitzwing's off the cuff remark, 'Warp turned to Thundercracker and smiled. "Blitz is right. The Seacons would do well down here. If only."

Autobot Ship - Ocean Floor

Smokescreen watched as Jazz's trick worked like a charm. The door was now functional and Brawn seemed to be relieved that he hadn't been accidentally struck by the photon blast. Without further delay, the tough minibot pushed the button and the hatch slid open, sucking him and Prowl into the ship. Smokey was next to enter the hatchway and was quickly drawn inside by the water flow. Unlike the others, however, the diversion expert managed to bring his legs up at the last astrosecond and use his feet as a buffer to cushion his impact against the wall of the corridor.

Once he had stopped himself, Smokescreen pushed off from the wall and stood up as water continued to pour in around his feet. He listened carefully as Prowl gave out instructions to everyone on what to do. The net casters were an excellent idea and would hopefully neutralize Soundwave's cassettes long enough to allow the Autobots to get the energon out. However, it still wouldn't be easy. Some of Soundwave's little minions were known to be quite vicious and wouldn't be held by the nets forever. Regardless, it was worth a try.

Taking a net caster from Jazz, Smokescreen quickly followed Brawn down the corridor towards the main storage bay. It wasn't too far away and Smokey's scanners had a solid fix on the energon signature so they wouldn't get lost trying to find the location. After rounding a few corners, the red and blue mech approached the bay doors.

"My scanners indicate that the energon is right on the other side of these doors, Brawn," Smokescreen said as he pressed a series of keys on the access pad. The doors then slid open and the diversion expert stepped inside. His optics immediately lit up at the sight in front of him. There were piles of energon cubes that literally filled the large room. Many were still stacked neatly in a series of rows, bound by steel tethers. Other cubes, however, had been knocked loose from their tethers by the force of the crash and were scattered across the floor. But, they all appeared to be stable and intact.

An amazed Smokescreen looked over at Brawn. "Wow, that's a lot of energon. Unfortunately, we can't use the ship's bounce pad to transport this much back to the Ark-19 without risking an explosion. So, if we're going to salvage it all, we need to get started. We've got a lot of heavy lifting ahead of us." With that said, Smokey grabbed the nearest hover cart and started loading it up with energon cubes.

North Coast - Yucatan Peninsula

Ramjet had hardly finished rematerializing when Starscream gave the order to take off. As usual, things were either at a dead stop or in a headlong rush with ol' Screamer running the show - first they had wasted time with the weapon switch out, that one may not have been Starscream's idea, but he'd backed it, and now they weren't even getting the whole team together before they rushed off. Ramjet was sure he could have run things better.

We could carpet-bomb the area to soften them up, then just rush in and clean up the mess... wait that wouldn't work it might blow up the energon. Oh well - I could definitely think of something, the conehead thought as he transformed and streaked off after his compatriots.

While they were still miles out, Screamer led the formation down below the surface of the water... so he was assembling the team before rushing in. Maybe he even had a plan. Damn, it would be harder to undermine him if he didn't do anything stupid for Ramjet to exploit.

On the ocean floor, Ramjet resumed robot mode, ignoring the banter of his fellow Decepticons, and waited for Starscream to give them their marching orders. All the while the conehead was looking for any misstep that he could use to get rid of the obnoxious seeker commander.

Ocean Floor - Freighter

Ironhide chucked softly at Hardhead's discomfort, clicked his comm to acknowledge Jazz's report, then opened a frequency to deal with a more serious issue. "Prowl," he said over the local command channel, "ah'm not pullin' anyone out of position to set up yer toys. We'll just have to go with what we got. Mah scanners show we've got a decent scrambler field out to 100 yards around the ship here. It might not be the best range, but it oughta mess 'em up once they're in close."

Ironhide closed the channel and settled further back into the shadow of the ship. His 'bots were well concealed - if the 'cons showed up before they were actually hauling energon out, then, with any luck, they wouldn't even notice that the Autobots had arrived first. Surprise, even brief surprise, was an advantage, and the old campaigner wasn't about to let any chance slip by him.

Krunix trailed behind the other fliers of the group, wordlessly do his best not to skim the water or lag too far behind the more naturally agile Seekers. Krunix had never been the best flier; pacing his Fellow Decepticons in a clear environment was a task at best, let alone trying to utilize his flight in battle well. Still He wouldn't dare allow his inadequacies to inhibit him at the very beginning of the mission.

Finally, after what seemed like a megacycle, Krunix breached the ocean floor and came to rest apart from the group of fliers. Honestly, though fellow Decepticons, Krunix would rather keep out of arms reach of all of them. He turned to Starscream and gave a curt nod, indicating his readiness.

Bridge

Ironhide's response was not what Prowl had hoped for. The commander for this operation refused to budge, believing 100 yards was sufficient. This, Prowl disagreed with. Perhaps in a ground battle it might work, however, a 100 yard radius was 600 feet in diameter and taking into account the ship itself, that didn't leave much room. While humans may see that as a considerable distance, for most transformers, that wasn't very far. While the Decepticons would not have flight to their advantage and mobility would be hindered, there was more than enough room for the Decepticons to get out of the field quickly with the given jamming radius. He needed to try something drastic if he was going to get the range he needed. However, he had a more mediate matter to tend to, his mission.

Prowl entered the Bridge. It had clearly seen better days but Prowl was certain there was enough to work with. First things first, he needed to close that door and seal it. While this would slow down the Decepticons, prowl knew it would not stop them and it would inhibit getting the energon out manually. He was going to have to think of something creative to get the energon past the Decepticons and to the Bounce point. However, he'd figure that out in a few minutes. Going over to the main console, he examined it. it was in operable form, but lacked power. most likely the Power Generator had been incapacitated in the crash. he'd need to find a means of getting the console up and running jsut long enough to close the hatch and stop the water.

Using the maintenance attachment he had taken from storage on the ark, Prowl began cutting open the console with a careful precision. While he was not as precise as Ratchet would be, he was pretty decent at cutting open panels. Within moments, he finished and pulled the top panel off, careful enough not to break any wire connections. He sorted through until he found the receiver. While he could not fix the power generator, he did have a means of supplying power. He'd use some of his own energy to activate the terminal.

He opened a small panel from where his front plate and pulled out a chord used to transfer energon. he just needed enough. He plugged it into the receiver and began transferring energy to the console. The systems on the console began to boot up, putting a smile on Prowl's face. Prowl began examining the console and found the hatch control. Pressing the button, he heard a hum as the hatch began to close. Within several seconds, the hatch finally closed. Prowl stopped the energy transfer with the task complete and placed the cord back into his panel before closing it. This would buy them several minutes, at best, to work with once the Decepticons arrived. He stared at the console, seeing it still operable. It would remain so for a few minutes. Prowl felt it necessary to let the other Autobots inside know the situation.

>>"Okay Autobots, it's just us in here. Brawn, Smokescreen, What's your situation like?"<<

Storage

Brawn stared in awe at the energon before them. It was like they hit the treasure trove of Energon. He'd personally buy blaster one when they got back. His train of thought was then interrupted by Smokescreen, who was looking at ways to transfer the energon.

"Somehow, I don't think carting it out is going to work. Especially with the amount we're dealing with." he replied. "We risk pushing it through a battlefield full of Decepticons."

There was then the hum of something, but Brawn knew what it was, the hatch they used to enter was closing.

"Seems Prowl is in agreement." he added. "Whatever we're gonna do, it's gonna have to be clever."

And what was worst, Brawn was the last Autobot anyone would come to for creativity. It was not in his programming.

Gulf of Mexico, not far from the crash site

Starscream looked around and saw that his team was ready.

"Alright. We all know the situation, bottom line we have to secure the freighter as our primary objective. However, if that is not possible we will destroy it rather then allow the Autobots secure the energon for themselves." He looked his optics onto each one of the warriors under his command. "To this end for the first step of our mission is to secure the crash sites perimeter before entering. However, I am doubtful that this will be so simple if the Autobots are already here. If that is the case then we will need to approach this operation differently."

He gestured to Blitzwing, Ramjet, and Hellion.

"You three are our vanguard. You will hit the Autobot lines and engage them in close combat, deploying mines as best as you can to try and disrupt their own maneuvers." He then pointed to Skywarp, and Thundercracker. "You two are our ranged support. You will support our attack on the freighter with torpedoes and your rail guns. target Autobots that are attempting to out flank are close assault team, or other wise trying to take advantage of any distractions they may face. If you can deploy mines as well to try and deny the Autobots tactically beneficial areas from which they may approach." He then turned his gaze to Soundwave and Krunix. "Normally I would leave the battle coms. in your capable hands Soundwave, however me and you are going to be assaulting the freighter directly so we can get inside and secure it. I am carrying several demolitions charges, one of them should be more then enough to breach an air lock door, which I think we will have to do in a hurry. We will also likely need your cassettes to give us extra troops to take control of the ship. Krunix, I am going to rely on you to coordinate the two teams out here, direct the assault team to prevent any outside Autobots from helping their comrades on the inside, and like wise have the ranged support team direct their fire where best applied. You will also being directing your weapons where best applied. All of you keep your team mates in visual range, I am sure the Autobots will be jamming out radio coms., so we will likely have to rely on visual communication.

Starscream began doing a last minute weapons check to make sure everything was in good order and glanced over his shoulder to ensure that no Autobots where in site.

"Although we can't be sure that the Autobots are here, we will approach as if they so we don't blunder into an ambush. Stay close to your team mates and put down any Autobots you find as quickly as you can. We can't afford to play with them, just kill them."

The Air Commander straightened up and prepared to move.

"Decepticons, advance!"

He gave the order to move out and moved out from behind the rock cropping he had been using as cover and began moving towards the crash site, dodging from cover to cover as he approached.

Storage Bay

As Smokescreen filled one of the hover carts with energon cubes, he began to rethink using the bounce pad as a means of transporting the energon. Brawn was right. They couldn’t just carry it out through a battlefield full of ‘cons. It was just too risky. One stray laser and the energon would be destroyed. Not to mention the water would make it even harder for them to maneuver. No, the bounce pad was the only viable way even with the potential dangers involved.

“You’re right, Brawn,” Smokescreen replied to the minibot, agreeing with his assessment of the situation. “There’s no way carrying the energon outside is going to work. We’d have to constantly open and close the hatch, which would end up flooding the ship more and more. Plus, I doubt the ‘cons will make a nice little path for us. No, we’ll have to use the bounce platform on this ship. However, we’ll have to limit the number of cubes we send through in order to prevent an accidental explosion. I would say no more than 5 or 6 cubes at one time. Of course, it’ll take us a lot longer, but at least we won’t blow ourselves up or the Ark-19 for that matter.”

Smokescreen finished filling the hover cart as Prowl’s communiqué came in over his comm. Smokey opened a line back to the military strategist:

>>”Prowl, we found the energon. There is a ton of it down here in the storage bay. We’re going to use the bounce pad located just down the corridor to transport the cubes back to the Ark-19. However, we can only risk transporting a small number of cubes at one time. Otherwise, we risk an explosion if we try to send too many through. Brawn and I will use hover carts to carry the energon to the bounce chamber. We’ll keep you apprised of our progress.”<<

Smokescreen closed his comm link and peered inside his cart where he saw that about a dozen cubes could fit nicely into one container. That was not a lot considering how many were in the room. “We’re going to have to make multiple trips down to the bounce room, Brawn. Let’s get started.” Smokey then grabbed a hold of his hover cart and made his way out of the storage bay and down the corridor towards the bounce chamber, assuming that Brawn wouldn’t be far behind with a cart of his own.

Orbital Bounce Pad

Smokescreen entered the room and stopped the hover cart near the bounce pad. It was a much smaller pad then what they had on the Ark-19. Even if the risk of an explosion didn’t exist, they still would be forced to send a small number of cubes through as the platform could only hold so many. It’ll have to do, Smokey thought as he placed five cubes onto the bounce pad. He didn’t want to risk sending any more, at least not on the first try.

The diversionary tactician then moved to the control console across the room. He found the controls to be undamaged, but without power. The ship’s primary generator had most likely been damaged and knocked off line during the initial crash. Smokey immediately pried open the access panel on the side of the console and began re-routing the controls into the ship’s auxiliary power supply which seemed to still be intact. It wasn’t as much power as the primary generator and it wouldn’t last forever, but it would provide enough juice to transport the energon.

Once the bypass had been completed, the console came to life and the display screen in front of Smokey lit up. Now that’s more like it. The diversion expert punched in the coordinates of the Ark-19’s bounce platform before then opening an encrypted comm line back to the Autobot base:

>>”Ark-19, this is Smokescreen. Prepare to receive the first compliment of energon via an orbital bounce. For safety reasons, I’m only sending a small amount through at one time. It should arrive momentarily. Please let me know when you have received it.”<<

Taking a deep breath, Smokey slid the control lever forward and watched as the five energon cubes disappeared from sight.

Ocean Floor - A Short Distance from the Crash Site

Skywarp listened carefully as Starscream gave out more orders. Each 'con on the mission had a role to play and 'Warp's was to provide ranged support to the others alongside Thundercracker. It was not unlike the role he always played during any given battle. The only difference here was that he wouldn't be providing support from the air since they were underwater. But, that didn't mean he still couldn't target and eliminate any Autobot he set his sights on. The rail guns and torpedoes would help to ensure that. Plus, his teleportation ability should still work well in a watery environment.

Once the Seeker Commander gave the order to advance, Skywarp turned to Thundercracker and smiled at his friend. "Let's do this, 'Cracker. Time for a little payback." The teleporter than moved out from behind the rocks and headed towards the crash site.

Storage bay

Brawn listened to Smokescreen's idea. While it would take time, getting some of that Energon was better than none, but getting most would be the objective. He nodded in agreement with Smokescreens idea. it was better teleporting them directly back to the Ark and bypassing the Decepticons completely.

"Alright Smokescreen." he said to the Diversions expert, "I'll grabs a cart and be right with ya."

he went over and grabbed a cart, grabbing it bay the handles as it floated in air. He then went over and grabbed the first energon cube he could find, placing it on the cart. he repeated this process 5 more times until he had six. This was nothing to him, since he was built to carry a lot of weight. he then pushed the cart int he direction Smokescreen traveled in.

Orbital Bounce Platform

Brawn arrived with the next shipment and walked them to the platform. He decided to relieve Smokescreen to grab the next batch.

"I'll take care of things here Smokey." he said. "I can operate a lever easily. Go get that next batch! We wanna get as much as we can before the Decepticons arrive."

Relieving Smokescreen, he went over to the controls, but he opened another channel to the Ark first.

>>"Brawn to Ark-19. I'm sending the next batch of Energon over. Might wanna get a few hands to start collecting this stuff."<<

With that, he pulled the lever. The cubes on the pad then vanished as they were transported to their destination.

Bridge

Prowl received Smokescreen's report. The news that there was a considerable amount of energon was welcome to him. He just hoped they got a good deal of it back to the Ark-19 before the fighting began. But now he needed to get started on his main objective, the flight computer and it's logs and recordings.

>>"Understood. I'm about to do my part. Just keep at a steady pace! We don't want to blow out that Platform. We may need to use it ourselves if necessary."<<

He walked over to the front of the bridge and began unscrewing the panel containing some of the vital flight system components, including the recordings. He then tossed the panel aside, not bothering to be neat since this ship was doomed either way. He cut away at the wiring as he began working towards the flight computer.

While Thundercracker and Skywarp began their slower approach at range, Blitzwing moved out of the cover as a response to Starscream's order and headed out towards the next batch of rocks in the ship's direction, gesturing Ramjet and Hellion to follow. If the Autobots were already there the Decepticons were at disadvantage. It meant the Autobots had prepared positions and the element of surprise over them. If the 'bots would wait until the Decepticon advance group was well in their range, all the advantage given by the weapons they had equipped themselves with was going to be as good as gone, especially if the Autobots engaged melee combat, making it difficult for Skywarp and Thundercracker to give the any cover fire. One torpedo hitting the ship could be enough to detonate the energon inside and that would be the end of it for them all.

Cursing silently as his sonar equipment couldn't pick any movement and the range was too great for infrared detection, Blitzwing kept approaching from cover to cover, propelling himself to greater speeds any diver could attain through his anti-gravity boosters that allowed the Decepticon flight ability in robot mode. Any moment now, they were getting close. If the 'bots were there they'd soon reveal themselves to stop the Decepticons getting too near the ship.

Ocean Floor - A Short Distance from the Crash Site

"Of slaggin' course," Ramjet mumbled as Starscream finished giving out assignments. First he makes me change out all my weapons, and then he sends me in for close quarters combat where my own weapons, the ones I was used to, would have been perfectly fine, he added silently. He's trying to get rid of me... Ol' Screamer knows I'm going to replace him one day - one day soon.

Despite his slightly megalomaniacal internal monologue, Ramjet activated his anti-grav drive and started off in Blitzwing's wake. Before long, he could see the ship ahead in the distance, but wherever the Autobots were hiding, he couldn't see them, and unfortunately, radar just didn't work underwater.

Thrust and Dirge weren't with them on this mission, and as the possibility of battle came closer, the conehead was keenly feeling their absence. He glanced back at Hellion and whispered, "You watch my back and I'll watch yours."

Crash Site

From his place of concealment in the shadow of the freighter, Ironhide could see Blitzwing approaching with Ramjet and Hellion not far behind. He wanted to make a last communication to everyone and remind them not to fire until the 'cons were in close enough that the reduced range of their weapons wouldn't matter as much, but he didn't want to take the chance of giving anyone's position away. From what Ironhide could tell, Blitzwing and his cohorts would be in optimum range for Hardhead's big guns in just a few astroseconds. Then all hell would break loose.

Orbital Bounce Platform

Once the first batch of energon cubes were away successfully, Smokescreen moved back over to his hover cart just as Brawn entered with a cart of his own. Smokey quickly removed the remaining cubes from his own container and placed them on the floor as the minibot offered to relieve him.

“Okay, Brawn. Will do,” the diversion expert responded. “I placed the remainder of the cubes from my cart on the floor. Once your batch is through, you can send these, as well. Meanwhile, I’ll take these two carts back down to storage and fill them up.” Smokey then grabbed a hold of the two empty containers and quickly exited the chamber, heading back down the corridor as fast as he could.

Storage Bay

Smokescreen entered the bay, pulling the two empty hover carts behind him. He placed them near a large stack of energon cubes and immediately began loading them up as carefully as he could. He wanted to move fast, but not too fast as to risk an explosion. The Decepticons would be there any astrosecond and they had to get as much energon back to the Ark-19 as possible before the inevitable battle began which would make things much more difficult. Hopefully, the Autobots outside would be able to hold the ‘cons at bay and prevent them from entering the ship. If the enemy managed to get inside, Smokey and Brawn would most likely be forced to turn their attention away from transporting energon and start fighting the ‘cons, instead.

Once both carts were filled to their rims with energon cubes, Smokescreen began pushing one cart in front of him while pulling the other from behind. Since he wasn’t exactly the strongest mech the Autobots had, Smokey was forced to move slowly as he exited the bay and headed back down to the bounce chamber.

Orbital Bounce Platform

The diversion expert was happy once he had reached the bounce chamber again. His circuits had really begun to feel the strain as he pulled and pushed the two hover carts down the long hallway. Smokey brought the carts to a stop and began unloading the contents. Each cart contained twelve energon cubes, so Smokey made four neat piles of six cubes each next to the bounce pad and then placed one batch on the platform, itself. Once he was done he straightened himself up and turned towards Brawn.

“Well, I brought down twenty-four more cubes for transport. I divided them up into four piles, each to be transported separately. And I’ve got one batch all ready to go. There’s still plenty more down in storage, so I’ll keep ‘em coming while you bounce them back to the Ark-19.” Smokescreen smiled at Brawn, as he grabbed the empty carts once again and exited the room in order to repeat the process he had just done.

Ocean Floor – Crash Site

Hardhead continued to wait patiently behind the coral reef he was using for cover. The fish had finally left him alone, but only after he had gotten done swatting at them repeatedly. He assumed that since Ironhide had not responded to his earlier request, that meant he wasn’t allowed to shoot at the tiny undersea creatures. At least they were no longer bothering him.

As Hardhead peered through as small hole in the coral, he immediately saw Blitzwing, Hellion and Ramjet at a distance along with several other ‘cons slowly making their way towards his position, using rock formations as cover. Ahh, finally some action! The war veteran thought as a smile crossed his face plate. He readied his two shatterblasters and waited for the enemy to be within firing range.

For a brief moment he considered alerting Ironhide and the other Autobots that the Decepticons were approaching. But, he knew that breaking radio silence could alert the enemy of their presence, so he remained quiet. The others would know what was happening in a few astroseconds, anyway, and they were more than capable of taking care of themselves.

Once the approaching Decepticons were in range, Hardhead jumped up from behind the reef and opened fire with his shatterblasters, spraying diamond-hard projectiles at Blitzwing, Ramjet and any other ‘con that was unlucky enough to get in his line of sight.

Nearing the Crash Site

Skywarp continued his slow approach towards the crash site alongside Thundecracker as they remained further back from the rest of the team in order to provide the ranged support Starscream had ordered. As the ‘cons ahead of them neared the site, the Autobots still had not shown themselves. Heh. Those stupid ‘bots are probably not even here yet, ‘Warp thought, shaking his head. An astrosecond later, a diamond-hard shard pierced through his right wing tip, startling the teleporter back into the reality of the situation. The Autobots were, in fact, here and they were now on the attack!

“Take cover! It’s the Autobots!” Skywarp shouted as he engaged his anti-gravity drive to allow him better maneuverability underwater. He quickly took cover behind a tall rock formation and then propelled himself to the top where he peered over and saw that the enemy fire was coming from behind a coral reef up ahead. Due to the murkiness of the water, he couldn’t quite make out which Autobot was attacking or how many, but it didn’t matter. He still had a job to do.

Thundercracker, the shots are coming from that reef just before the ship. We should concentrate our weapons there!” Normally, Skywarp would’ve just teleported behind the reef and taken their attacker by surprise, but Starscream’s orders were for him and ‘Cracker to provide ranged support, so that was exactly what he intended to do. 'Warp then took aim at the coral reef with his rail guns and returned fire, hoping to pin down the enemy while the others got closer to the crashed ship.

Near the Crash Site

Starscream had been moving to try and outflank the ship in an attempt to reach a rear located air lock to enter in. That way he would have close access to the ships engine reactor which he could strap demolition charges to. He landed behind a rock out cropping, the ship was just another leap away. He checked over his shoulder to see if Soundwave was following him. He new the Decepticon communications officer was likely unhappy with his role in this operation, but his skills and underlings were needed to help gain control of the ship.

The Air Commander was preparing to make his last move towards the ship when he heard fire erupt not far off towards his combat teams moving to secure the perimeter of the crash site. He immediately opened up his com line to give out orders, it crackled a bit, either from some Autobot jamming attempt or disruption from this abundance of water. He saw an Autobot, the murky water made it hard to see which one exactly, was firing on his advancing teams.

>>Thundercracker, Skywarp; concentrate your fire on that Autobots position and keep him pinned down. Ramjet flank from the right, Hellion flank from the left, Blitzwing charge him from the middle. Keep him pinned with heavy fire power and charge him from multiple directions. Eliminate that target and move on to seek and destroy any other defensive positions manned in the area. Do not dally and eliminate all targets as fast as possible.<<

His orders given he turned back to focus on the ship and scanned it with his optics searching for anything that resembled an air lock door he could blow with a breaching charge. It took several astroseconds to locate one. He then turned to face the direction Soundwave was approaching from.

"Soundwave, I am going on ahead to breach the air lock and secure an entrance for us. Follow behind me and ready your cassettes. We will need to as many of them as possible to secure the ship, you can count on the Autobots having a team inside already at work on securing our energon."

Starscream then pushed off from the sea floor, using his anti-grave field to propel him towards his intended target. He effortlessly maneuvered towards his destination and grasped at the hull to secure himself to the side. He produced a shaped breaching charge he had prepared just for such an occasion and placed it against the door and set the timer. Backing away to a safe distance he waited the short astroseconds it took for the charge to detonate in a small, yet powerful blast that torn the door, and small sections of the surrounding hull, apart.

Starscream moved forward once again, swimming into the flooded air lock he saw the second door leading into the inner halls of the ship sealed shut, the ships barely working systems trying to contain a hull breach. He sought out the manual release and opened the panel and grabbed the switch. It took several attempts to force the switch to move and the door groaned open in protest, it didn't open all the way but just enough to allow Starscream to squeeze through. some water was leaking in, but not enough to flood this section any time soon.

He swept the halls with his arm mounted rail guns raised, scanning any targets. Not seeing any he activated his com link again.

>>Soundwave, I'm in. No hostiles in my area at the moment, you are safe to enter.<<

Weapon: Energo-Sword
Nearing the Crash Site

Soundwave had leapt out of Starscream’s cockpit as the seeker had transformed. He silently listened to the seeker’s orders as he began working on communication frequencies. The water was going to be a bit of an obstacle, reducing the range and effectiveness of their communications. Of course, it would be more of a problem for the other Decepticons. Soundwave had one of the most powerful and sophisticated communication’s equipment known to Transformers technology. He adjusted his internal settings to compensate.

The communications specialist followed after Starscream as they moved to slip in close to the crashed vessel. As Starscream moved towards the ship Soundwave hesitated. His internal sensors had detected a jamming field in close proximity to the vessel. Apparently the Autobots had already arrived and were quite prepared for them. It would not be enough to stop Soundwave however. He quickly scanned through various frequencies and boosted his signal strength, allowing him to cut through the interference. He relayed Starscream’s message himself to make sure the other Decepticons received it.

He watched as Starscream located a hatch and forced his way inside of the vessel. He wasn’t sure what to make of Starscream’s caution on this mission. Apparently with the amount of energon at stake he was taking the mission very seriously. At the very least it would be good for his personal safety.

Once he received the signal Soundwave moved to join the seeker. He easily maneuvered through the destroyed hatch but had a bit difficulty with the other hatch, it being just barely propped open. Finally he managed to fully enter the vessel, his concussion gun cradled in his hands. He glanced around the area, his sensors sweeping over the vessel. “High concentration of energy readings in this direction,” he pointed down a corridor. “Scan indicated large quantity of energon.”

*

Hellion had a predatory grin on her face as she swam through the water. The water was a nuisance, but she didn’t care. She could practically taste the battle to come. The Autobots were out there, waiting for them, and there were a lot of them. Maybe this time she would finally get her fill of battle, go into full berserk mode and slaughter all of the Autobots she wanted. The only thing that would slow her down was the water itself.

The femme glanced over at Ramjet as he spoke to her. Usually she would have Nightraven around to watch her back and she would have just blown Ramjet off. Unfortunately her sister wasn’t on this particular mission. It did make her slightly uncomfortable, but she wasn’t exactly up for placing her trust in Ramjet, a not to bright seeker if ever there was one. Still, it probably couldn’t hurt.

“Sure, I can do that Ramjet, but you know I’m gonna fly into a rage in this fight. Slag, I’m already worked up, once I’m punching some Bot in the face I’m not gonna wait around to make sure everything is clear. I’m gonna keep fighting until every Bot is slagged, and then, hopefully, I’ll stop before I attack something else.” She flashed the other seeker another predatory grin.

Their conversation was interrupted by incoming fire from Hardhead. Hellion kicked in her anti-gravity unit and darted away from the others, separating so they weren’t all targets. She got the signal then from Starscream and a slightly cleared up version from Soundwave. She wasn’t a tactician or anything, but it seemed like a decent plan. Might as well follow a plan before everything turned into a chaotic melee. That is when she would shine. She kicked her legs and began swimming to flank the Autobot position from the left.

Orbital Bounce Platform

Brawn watched as Smokescreen brought in even more energon. While still only a small fraction of it, this would probably power them and the Ark for awhile before they needed more. Not wanting to waste time, he grabbed the closest batch and put it on the bounce Platform, one at a time. Then he went over to the lever and pulled it, sending the next batch of energon back tot he Ark-19. He then went for the next batch after and repeated the process, only this time, as he was about to pull the lever, he heard the faint sound of firing outside as it had been carried by the water. Brawn looked up and then looked at Smokescreen.

"Let's hurry!" he told the Diversion's expert. he quickly pulled the elver to send the next batch of energon back to the Ark-19. Following that, Brawn raced over to another pile and began placing the cubes on. The process was halted by the sudden sound of something hitting the hull, but it clearly wasn't. It was a charge, form the outside. However, it's positioning was difficult to tell since Brawn had not ventured the ship in it's entirety. They needed to get the rest of this energon to the Ark-19 first, and then get into position. He knew from this point out, there was to be no communication until the battle fully commenced.

"We need to give Jazz and Prowl some time to finish." he suggested as he continued working. "Have any plans for slowing those Decepti-ceeps down?"

Bridge

Prowl paused upon hearing the faint noises of firepower outside. He was running out of time, but he had to finish his job first and hoped Jazz was having better luck than he was. he cut through some more wires before finally reaching the Nav Computer. It was in this moment that there was an explosion. If he had to guess, it was on the lower decks. he'd wait a few more minutes before activating the jamming field and let the Decepticons get a little comfortable. Originally, he had intended to activate it upon arrival, however, as always, he needed to modify his plan. He was execting it would catch the Decepticons outside by surprise.

Now he needed to slow the Decpeitcons down in his own way, if they were to bypass him and go for the nav computer. He reached in with wire cutters and began cutting away at any cables connecting the flight computer and logs to the main computer. If they wanted them so bad, they were going to have to crawl in and hack it directly.

Blackstrike was waiting for any sign of the 'cons, any move, any sound, but nothing came. "Those 'cons don't dare to show their fa-." Before the flying mech could finish his thought, he heard a splash coming from the underwater nearby to his position. "What the-." Before he could understand exactly what was happening he saw more splashes coming out of the water. Quickly he entered the water and saw Skywarp shooting with his railguns to a coral reef. He accelerated at full speed to get in a better view of his enemies, and when he was close enough, he shoot one of his Armor-Piercing missiles at Skywarp, hoping that they would hit.

Before the missiles could hit, he couldn't resist and yelled at his foe. "GOODBYE MOTHERFRAGER!"

Crashsite/Battlefield

:CON:

Ramjet recoiled in surprise as diamond-hard crystal shards from Hardhead's shatterblasters ripped through the water and tore through the thinner armor plating on his legs and arms. Sparks flew, but for now the heavier plating protecting his vital systems held, and if the conehead felt any pain, he certainly didn't show it. Instead, with a howl of sadistic glee that almost matched Hellion for sheer ferocity, he ducked his head and charged towards Hardhead's position bringing his new weapons to bear as he ran. He fully intended to blast the Autobot into slag, but nothing happened.

<device not online: error>

Either Hardhead's barrage had severed something, or a connection had worked its way loose due to his hasty installation of the weapon packs, but in any case, the railguns wouldn't fire. It didn't matter too much to Ramjet - it was much more satisfying to slam into his foe and mix it up hand to hand anyway. He was more than halfway to Harhead's position when he received a garbled blast of static across his comm from Starscream, and then a beat later Soundwave nearly blew his receiver with the high powered and painfully clear version of the message.

Flanking was pretty much out of the question at this point, Ramjet was closing in on Hardhead - dead center, howling like a catamount, and spoiling for a fight.

****

:BOT:

"Aw right," Ironhide chuckled as the Decepticons all turned and focused their attention on Hardhead. The big guy had done his job perfectly without it having to be spelled out for him, just like you would expect from a mech as experienced as Hardhead. He had let the 'cons get close enough that their shortened range in water didn't matter much, and by drawing their fire, Hardhead had forced the approaching cons to give their backs and flanks to the rest of the strike-team.

"OKAY GUYS! LET 'EM HAVE IT!!" Ironhide bellowed across the comm channel, and matched words to deed, unleashing a barrage from his heavy laser rifle right at Hellion's back as she maneuvered to flank Hardhead.

Without yet seeing if his shots had hit, Ironhide smiled. His guys had good cover, and the foremost cons were caught in a crossfire.

Ocean Floor – Crash Site

After Hardhead's position had been revealed, Thundercracker had done as commanded which had meant giving support fire to the advancing trio of Blitzwing, Hellion and Ramjet. He could already see that Starscream's strategy would not hold. Blitzwing, through his superior reflexes had dove into the dirt just in time to avoid Hardhead's initial attack and thus his advancement on the battlefield had been halted. Meanwhile Hellion had removed herself from the formation though with a good reason. And Ramjet, not all that surprisingly had gone directly for Hardhead.

And that was when everything went down to the drain for the Decepticons at least from Thundercracker's point of view. The Autobots opened fire from their cover, pinning the Decepticon advance squad down under crossfire. And then some Autobot he couldn't recognize assaulted Skywarp, cutting the Decepticon rear guard from giving cover fire to the advance squad.

"Slag that fragger quick 'Warp, our advance squad is under crossfire!" He warned his brother and fired one of his torpedoes towards the cover Ironhide was using, determined to force at least one of the Autobots to the open.

Meanwhile...

Blitzwing had sensed Hardhead's attack just in time to dive down into the dirt but as he prepared to follow Starscream's updated orders, Ramjet was already charging at the Autobot who had fired on them while Hellion had broken off the formation to make it more difficult for the Autobot to hit them all. Just as he was about to get up firepower from various Autobot positions forced him down again. While the triplechanger was more resilient than your average Transformer, even he couldn't last under crossfire for too long.

He had to move. Firing his anti-gravity thrusters to max, Blitzwing charged towards Hardhead's position, rising a cloud of dirt from the ocean floor as he did so. With Ramjet already attacking the Hardhead, Blitzwing hoped to team up with Ramjet against the Autobot, taking his cover and getting out from the Autobot crossfire before his armor would give in.

Inside Autobot Freighter - Corridor between Bounce Pad & Storage Bay

As Smokescreen exited the bounce chamber with the two hover carts in tow, he heard and felt a small explosion against the side of the ship's hull. He turned and looked back at Brawn. “Seems the ‘cons have finally arrived. It sounded to me like that explosion came from the rear of the freighter down past the storage bay. So, either a stray shot hit us, or the ‘cons have breached the rear hatch.”

Smokey knew the basic layout of the ship as its design was similar to many others he had been on before. Most vessels like this one had a main door near the front, which was where the Autobots had entered. And then there was usually a rear hatch that was used for emergency purposes. It was better concealed that the front one and would be the best option for the ‘cons to get inside the ship.

“I’d better get moving,” Smokescreen said, grabbing both carts. He could now hear the muffled sounds of laser fire coming from outside. The battle was in full swing and if the Decepticons weren’t already inside then they soon would be. Either way, the two Autobots didn’t have much time left. “As far as plans are concerned, I’ll figure something out depending on the situation. Right now I’m focused on getting that energon down here to you.”

Smokescreen then rushed down the corridor towards the storage bay, pulling the hover carts behind him as he went. As he quickly stopped in front of the bay doors, he heard something coming from further down the hall. Leaving the carts by the doorway, Smokey carefully made his way down to a connecting rear corridor that led to the very back of the ship. He slowly peaked around the corner and saw two large shapes standing at the far end. At first he couldn’t tell who they were, but then they came into view and Smokey knew instantly who had gotten in.

Fraggit! It’s Starscream and Soundwave! Smokescreen thought as he quickly pulled his head back from around the corner and out of sight. The diversion expert knew he had to do something and fast or those two ‘cons would be down at the energon before he could get anymore cubes to Brawn.

Thinking fast, Smokey did what his namesake suggested. The red and blue mech transformed into his Nissan 350Z alt mode and carefully backed up, sticking his tail pipes just around the corner. The diversion expert then unleashed a thick cloud of magnetized smoke which quickly filled the rear corridor and made its way down towards Soundwave and Starscream. Smokey then transformed back to robot mode and raced back to the hover carts, pushing them into the storage bay. At the same time he opened a secured comm line to the bridge:

>>”Prowl, this is Smokescreen. The Decepticons have breached the rear hatch of the freighter. Starscream and Soundwave are now inside. I released a smoke cloud into the rear corridor where they’re currently located in order to buy us some time, but it won’t keep them at bay for very long and there are other routes to the bridge, so be on guard. Smokescreen out.”<<

The diversionary tactician moved quickly, throwing as many energon cubes into the hover carts as he could. He then pushed them back down the corridor and into the bounce pad chamber. “Brawn, the ‘cons are inside the ship! I saw Soundwave and Starscream back in the rear corridor. I let loose a smoke cloud to slow them down, but we’re running out of time! Transport these as fast as you can while I go get more!”

Smokescreen quickly unloaded the over two dozen additional cubes he had brought and then headed back for the doorway. He hoped to get another load down to the bounce pad before the ‘cons made it past his diversionary cloud. With any luck, he would succeed in his endeavor.

Ocean Floor – Near Crash Site

Skywarp had concentrated his rail gun fire on the coral reef when he heard someone shouting from above his position. He looked up and saw Blackstrike heading right for him. ‘Warp didn’t know who in the slag this flying Autobot was and he didn’t really care. He was still an Autobot and would meet the same fate as the rest of them.

“I got this guy, ‘Cracker!” Skywarp responded to his friend before teleporting away to avoid the Autotbot flyer’s missiles. ‘Warp then reappeared behind his attacker and unleashed a barrage of rail gun fire on the unsuspecting Blackstrike. “No, you say goodbye, foolish Autobot!”

At the Coral Reef

Hardhead concentrated his fire on the advancing ‘cons in front of him and ducked down only briefly to avoid Skywarp’s rail gun attack before continuing his assault. The veteran warrior was unconcerned with the teleporter or the femme seeker who was trying to flank him as he knew Ironhide and the others would take care of the annoying seekers for him. The green mech simply focused directly ahead and smiled as his shards struck Ramjet in the legs and arms. But that did not stop the conehead. Instead, Ramjet ducked his head down and charged at Hardhead.

So, that’s how you wanna play it, huh? Hardhead thought, jumping down in front of the coral reef to meet his adversary head on. “So, you think you have a harder head than mine, you cone headed freak!? Fine, let’s see what you got!” The green mech shouted, as Ramjet slammed into his mid section, pushing Hardhead back against the coral reef. “Is that all you got, slaghead? A protoform could hit harder than you!” The tough Autobot then quickly brought his right elbow down directly at the back of Ramjet’s head, hoping to either knock the 'con out or at the very least disorient him.

As Hardhead was hunched forward, struggling with the conehead, he noticed Blitzwing was also now charging at him. “You want a piece of me, too, Blitzy? You stupid ‘cons don’t know what’s good for you!” The seasoned soldier shouted as he aimed his 120mm laser-guided cannon and fired several explosive shells straight at the approaching triplechanger.

Bridge

Prowl received Smokescreen's signal. Just as he predicted, Soundwave would make an appearance. And while Smokescreen insisted on trying to get one more batch of Energon, Prowl knew that their time had run out.

>>"Negative Smokescreen! Whoever wins here gets the rest of that energon. We're in a combat situation now. You and Brawn focus on splitting them up and engaging! Ready those net casters!"

If Prowl was right, they'd be helpful in the next few minutes. Prowl knew that given their confines, Starscream would be more manageable with his aerial advantage factored out, despite his fighting skill. But Soundwave was a different story. Those minions needed to be neutralized first. One thing he also needed was Jazz.

>>Jazz, status report! We have Starscream and Soundwave inside the ship. Be on alert and engage any hostiles!"<<

Then a radical idea popped into his head. He switched his communications back to Smokescreen. If they could not beat their opponents, least they could try and take them out of the fight completely.

>>Smokescreen, you would happen to have the bounce coordinates to the destination used in the last mission, would you?"<<

He climbed out of the panel and activated his missile launchers, now equipped with casters. He then sported his Acid pellet rifle in his right hand, ready for the first sign of a Decepticon. He'd give it a few few more minutes before he would activate the jamming field.

Orbital Bounce Platform

Brawn grabbed the third batch and placed it on the Bounce platform as the second had been transported to the Ark-19. Smokescreen had gone back as Brawn sent the third shipment. As he began bouncing the third batch, Smokescreen had come over the line, indicating who the intruders were, Starscream and Soundwave. While it was a pity to brawn it was not Darkride, those two would be a suitable substitution. He particularly fancied the idea of striking a blow at Starscream's ego.

Looking down at the six cubes, something told him they might need some energon before this was over. he then placed five energon cubes on the Bounce Platform, keeping the sixth one with him, just in case.

Walking over to the lever, he pulled it, sending that shipment back to the Ark-19 before stepping away from the console and exiting for the corridor. He heard prowls orders. Splitting the two up didn't seem like a bad idea, though he already know Soundwave brought friends with him. They would need to be dealt with first.

Ocean Floor - Near Crash Site

Shotblur remained hidden, surveying the situation from where he was--mostly submerged, and to the north of the crash site. His optics constantly scanned the seekers in the air and the other Decepticons around the area for a likely target to pose as, but unfortunately, he couldn't fly, and this put him at a serious disadvantage. He would have to wait for them to land to make a more convincing disguise...unless he used a little ingenuity. For best effect, however, he needed a voice to imitate as well.

In either case, though, to get the best use of his abilities, he would need to wait for a better chance. It's a good thing reconnaissance demanded a lot of patience, or else he would be tempted to engage in battle hastily. Decepticons weren't exactly easygoing or friendly, and though Autobots were expected to be kind and understanding, it took a lot for a mech not to punch one in the face at every opportunity.

That, and...it looked like Hardhead could use some help.

Inside the crashed ship

Starscream nodded after Soundwave gave his report. The Air Commander was checking his demolition charges and saw they were in working order.

"Very well then. We shall move in that direction and try to-"

He was cut off as he heard the sound of someone transforming and a cloud of smoke began to fill the room. Starscream had suspected that the Autobots were already on the ship, but he had hoped they had only just arrived. Unfortunatly that didn't appear to be the case and it seemed unlikely that he and his team could accomplish their primary objective.

"Soundwave, deploy your cassettes, we will need them." He looked around. "We will have to fight our way to the energon supply and rig it for demolition. We are going to cut this very close as we cannot afford to give the Autobots time to disarm the charges. This means we have to plant the charges and run before we are caught in the explosion, which will be... significant."

Starscream then patched himself into the communications channel that Soundwave had set up.

>>Decepticons, this is Starscream. The Autobots are in firm control of the ship and I am doubtful of my and Soundwave's ability to take it from them. To this end our primary mission objective has changed. We are going to rig this ships energon supply for demolition. You will abandon the initial plan of securing the outside of the ship, your new objective is to keep the Autobots you are currently engaging occupied long enough to allow us to prep our demo charges and evacuate. On my orders you will all begin a fighting withdrawl and make it appear that we are falling back, once me and Soundwave are clear of the ship we will evacuate with all due haste as our time to flee the are will be short. Starscream out.<<

Starscream closed the link and turned to Soundwave.

"Ready your cassettes. I will pass through the smokescreen and engage any Autobots on the other side as you prepare. Once ready follow me and we will clear the halls to the energon storage area."

Starscream fired his thrusters and he shot through the smokescreen faster then it could cling to him. He landed with a heavy thud on the other side, his arm mounted rail guns raised. He swept the corridor and saw no one. He moved to the corner and slammed his back against it, using it for cover and then quickly peered around. He was just in time to see Smokescreen dart out of a room and start heading up the hall with some sort of hover cart. Starscream the quickly darted out from behind his cover, dropped to one knee, raised his weapons square at the Autobot and unleashed a storm of high velocity, armour piercing rail gun rounds. After firing his burst he quickly ducked back into cover and checked to see if Soundwave was coming with his underligns before looking back to see what, if any, damage he had done to the Autobot.

Ocean Floor - Near Crash Site

Krunix had spent the majority of the battle, so far, breaking a small jamming signal coming from the downed shuttle as a Automated Countermeasure, using his connection link with Soundwave to boost his comm strength. Once he had managed that, it was still a task trying to transmit accurate Heads Up Display data to his fellow Decepticons, keeping them appraised of the movements of the fellow warriors, and unknown/unfriendly movement. Krunix focused on sending the data most frequently to Skywarp and Thundercracker, given the parameters of their assignments.

Krunix's priorities changed, however, when he heard the communique from Starscream. Trying as sparingly as possible to use his boosters to get closer to the fight, Krunix looked between the shuttle and the battling Decepticons. Processing the situation as best he could, Krunix broadcast a tightbeam signal to the nearby Decepticons on a closed frequency.

You heard the order. Everyone try and put some distance between yourselves and the shuttle. Orders are to make it look like a withdraw, but we still have to be ready to do some damage. Establish a fallback position and consolidate from there. Till then, I'm going to do my best to send some firing solutions; concentrate fire if able.

The thought had come to Krunix that, Autobot warning signals would alert them to incoming fire, but the water environment and higher priorities might keep them from noticing a targeting laser. It just called for Krunix to do something he wasn't used to.

While being underwater was much better than being in the air, Krunix still had difficulty using his boosters to hover well above the sea floor. Once he'd gotten comfortable and could spot his target, he used his Pulse Laser and, setting it to the lowest intensity, painted Hardhead as a target while relaying the Autobot's position to the other Decepticons he could communicate with.
