Kindly see attach concept art for ROTF Devastator. We also can see Overload robot mode. Seems like Hightower is a drone without robot mode.

Seibertron.com member Real Devastator has found the concept art to Transformers Revenge of The Fallen Devastator. This concept art reveals that each component for Devastator was at least at one point in production supposed to have it's own individual robot-mode.

This also gives us a first look (apart from the Legends class release) at the robot-mode for Overload.

Awesome, I would love a bigger then legends toy made of Overload.
I just noticed Hightower doesn't have a bot-mode in that pic.

Very cool to finally see the whole picture. However, seeing this artwork only furthers my frustration that Devastator wasn't actually comprised of Long Haul, Scrapper, etc. but just another set of construction vehicles. That will always be a big failure of this movie to me.

Still no concept art for the Crane guy's bot mode?
His EZ Class figure makes him look like some kind of strange bird/dinosaur thing in robot mode...I was hoping to see concept art on him as well.

It won't be any kind of accurate, until there's some FansProject wrecking balls to add on. :P

There goes the "Devastator is like Voltron" theory.

Go go power rangers... :P

So out of all of those we ended up getting only 4 robots as action figures...

It would have been nice if they made the 4 and did the other 3 as bots so we could combine them.. and have a supreme devastator.

If they didn't want to sacrifice electronics for mixmaster's head thingy, then they could have split up the electronics into different bots, and when combined it would then light up and make sounds..

see now I would love to get an action figure of D-23! he's freaking sweeeet!

or

How about an action figure of Komatsu HD465-7! that large rig is sweet, and his Work in Progress robot mode is looking BOSS!!

Hasbro should have shelved Devastator for next year's release, or kept on working on it until the DVD release, and then made the bots combinatorial and transformable..
then I would have bought it at a 130.00 Price point.. instead of just a bunch of Tonka Colored Pieces of plastic that form a brightly colored transformer that is sorta cool, but way over priced.. and no details..or real good and worthy paint apps..

Here's a question: if each of the parts of Devastator had individual robot modes (which would've been extremely cool and probably got more tickets sold), why did they kill that aspect? As far as I can tell, it would've worked so why'd they kill it?

They look a lot cooler here than the toys, why not a robot mode for hightower? And was Overload ever in robot mode during the movie? I just saw him once during the combo sequence. Why'd they design that?

This is probably gonna start over the argument about Devastator's components being robots.

I agree with just about everybody here!

If hasbro was smart enough to make deluxe or voyager verisons of scrapper, hightower, and overload they would make more money, plus there would be much rejoiceing amoung fans! Why would they design concept art for something they're not gonna make? Just makes no sense...

And, if they did sell a Devastator that both combined and had indivdual robot forms, than Devastator himself would be bigger (if you think about) and thus more movie accurate.

Sorry about that long rant, just had to get it out :P
But, i diffenetly love the pics, and thanks for posting them.
