According to Japanese Transformers Blog - Autobase Aichi, the Device Label Blaster (USB Hub) has been cancelled.
This product initially schedule to be released on September 09, and delay until December 2009. Now we get the news that this product has been cancelled. Many pre-orders from Japanese toy shops has been suspended for this product.



We hope to get confirmation from Takara Tomy soon, and we will bring you the latest development when it is available.

I don't see why they would cancel it, they had to spend a fortune in development. And it works, i've seen a prototype with the electronics installed function(speeds were not quite usb2.0, but higher than 1.1). This just doesn't make any sense. Maybe they're just going to release it under another name aside from Blaster and we'll still get the figure, like they said they were canceling the Dinobot mouse, but instead just renamed it. Here's hoping.

I think it would look excellent in Soundblaster decor, or even Twincast.

Seriously!? This sucks, one of my most anticipated figures. I didn't even realize he could hold a G1 cassette until this post, now I want him even more!

Punch is doubtful of this, Counterpunch is in agreement with Punch.

While this would be kind of sad, I'd be OK if they did a Music Label Blaster instead.

Though the ability to hold cassettes is pretty cool.

Functional or not, it's still a darn fine Blaster. Yeah, I would have paid for him. It's not like I haven't overpaid for far lesser figures.

I hope they either bring this guy out or announce a mold for a Universe 3.0 Soundwave/Blaster. It's been too long man.

I already have a spot set aside for him, and he was the only TF I have been looking forward too since June. I got to preorder it for my birthday. And we have too much Soundwave as it is, don't just release it as Soundwave instead, PLEEEEEASSSEEE!!!

On the lighter side, I guess I'll get my DL Ravage and CC upgrade sooner, as Blaster was the only thing left in my POL that was still a pre-order.

If it does turn out to be true though, I wonder what would cause it. Were the Japanese not wanting it as much as we do?

As the saying goes: suspension does not mean cancellation. Knowing Takara, they're just delaying him until after the holidays, looking at the product being put out around that time.

For the record folks, neither Takara nor HLJ has said anything about a cancellation.
