I will be buying every single CW figure (only one I'm iffy about is Devy). Will they be my definitive combiners on the shelf? Some maybe.
Hercules will probably never be replaced. He's the exact size I want him to be, exact aesthetics, I love him. Only thing (IMO) CW Devy has going for him is the fun factor that that line has brought so far.
My Bruticus is Energon + FP. I really love him especially after how much work I put into acquiring the specific pieces I wanted. But he's just a smidge shorter than I'd like, and I think there's a decent chance of CW bringing something amazing enough to replace him.
Intimidator is my Menasor. And while I always liked the CW version, I didn't even consider him as a replacement. But I'll be damned is those upgrade kits don't look fantastic. I most likely will keep M3, but he wouldn't even be on my radar after seeing those upgrade kits.
Quantron I feel will be much harder to top. While he still has that "ugh.. so deilicate" feel to him, but he's just aesthetically pleasing that I don't care. I'm perfectly fine with carefully posing him, standing back, and drooling in awe. But who knows. Hasbutron + upgrades could be outstanding, the Menasor scenario all over again.
My Superion is CW. It's terrific. And it'll be even better with upgrades. I never bought into Uranos, I thought he was to busy and large.
I started buying TFC's Predaking which I plan to complete still regardless of CW.
Defensor is still a toss up. I'm so in love with CW's, proper groove be damned. But MK's (Guardia?) looks amazing as well. That will have to be a game time decision. Luckily 3P combiner type stuff doesn't sell out immediately.
So, that's what shajaki currently thinks of the state of Combiners
