I agree with Ironhide not having much of a chance alone. But

is quite incorrect, for the above reasons I stated. Also, if he faced all the Autobots, I don't think he'd have time to pick them all off one at a time. He'd get that acid rust cannon (I think it was referred to it as such in the book only) knocked out of his hand. And the blade can be avoided, as was shown in the film by Bumblebee and Sideswipe, dodging away from him. I believe he could do a lot of damage, even kill a few Autobots, but he'd lose the fight. And yes, he did prove to be way much more than Optimus could handle. Sentinel bitch-slapped Optimus on 3 different occasions. Though the first time was totally unexpected.
