DOTM heads

Postby Red 50 » Fri Oct 21, 2011 1:48 am

Motto: "Never send an army to do a dinobot's job"
Weapon: Twin Sonic Cannons
Did anyone notice or has it been mentioned yet, that relatively large amount of robots lost their heads in DOTM?

* I'm quite sure that all of the Dreads got their heads destroyed.
* When he was corroding in rust, Ironhide's head fell off.
* Wasn't Laserbeak's head shot off with the Decepticon gunships cannon, the one that 'Bee hijacked?
* Starscream got his eyes poked out and then his head blown with the Boom Stick.
* Optimus killed The Driller by decapitating him. (Bloody awesome scene)
* When Que was executed, his head fell off after the second hit from either Barricade or Soundwave.
* When Soundwave threw Bumblebee, he grabbed one of the Decepticon troopers by his head and blasted it.
* Also with Bumblebee, he killed Soundwave by punching his cannon under his chest, blowing his head off from the below.
* I think Shockwave's head was more or less destroyed.
* Optimus killed Megatron by attacking him with his axe, then slashed it into his head and tore it off. (The most coolest killing in DOTM in my opinion)
* I'm pretty sure that one of the shots Optimus made at Sentinel went through his head.

And I'm not so sure even about the 'Cons Optimus killed when he swooped down and charged at. I don't know how many of them got decapitated. And the 'Con that Optimus shot down. I know Wreckers tore him apart but... Well, you get the idea.

So, what do you think? Did I miss anything? Am I wrong about anything?

Weapon: Requiem Blaster
man, that's more than i counted!
i noticed as i was leavin the cinema, but no, never made a thread.
i think sentinel's helmet got ripped offf at one point
not forgetting, that if you add this to prime's "face collection" from ROTF (fallen's, blowing a hole in megatron's, probably some more...) then it is literally unreal.

still, it is an awesome looking way to kill a 'con.

Decapitation was also used a lot in RotF, and a few times in the original movie. Along with the other causes of death, it would seem that the spinal cord and anything attached to it, including their heads, is their main weakness:

* Jazz perished by being torn in two
* Ravage was filleted like a fish by having his spine torn out
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Weapon: Null-Ray Rifle
A little off-topic, but the bots also seem to have their eyes dangling out of their sockets in DOTM. It starts with Starscream, and it also happens to Shockwave.

I also noticed that they made some unexplained changes elsewhere. In the first movie, TF's bled fluorescent blue energon, but starting in ROTF, they seem to have some sort of green goo as blood. You can see it when BB rips Ravage's spine off, and when Ironhide supposedly "leaks blood" from his mouth after being shot by Sentinel.

Interestingly, the Dreads had bled red blood when they collided with Ironhide.

In the first movie, Prime punched Bonecrusher so hard that if you notice his eye pops out.

I personally liked the blue energon "blood" from the first movie. But in ROTF it's everywhere. You can see Megatron "bleeding" in the forest fight I believe. Also Prime when his faceplate is kicked off.

In DOTM, Sentinel bleeds, so does Prime after SP takes his arm off, as you mentioned Ironhide does. It goes on and on.

I would have to say that after 3 movies of bots losing their heads like they did that it's highly suggested that that's the best way to take them down and keep them down. In ROTF the autobots and even the humans in Egypt start going for the head quite a bit. Continues on in DOTM.

We need a shirt with Prime on it that says "Got head?"

If he was holding Megatron's head or the axe with Megatron's head attached to it still, that would be damn funny.
