What I fear from this add-on is wearing out the connection between the shoulder and the lower arm replacement.

I want to support Hasbro in retail, I really do. But this will likely be the second time (first being Metroplex) that I choose to either just get the SDCC version or the Takara one.

Its going to be funny if a s**tload of Hasbro Devys end up in Mashalls and TJ Maxx.

My concern is that they just DON'T show up widespread, like what happened with Metroplex. Which might be a deterrent for Hasbro/TT to make these types of releases in the future. Different paint apps aren't as much of a concern as additional features, bonus items (weapons), and likely better tooling is.

@necro - in my opinion, the only thing the SDCC Metroplex had going for it, from a pure figure standpoint, was the extra gun. I didn't care for the chromed parts, or the decoys. That beautiful box is another thing entirely. I think Takara's version out-shined either of the Hasbro releases, exclusive or not, and we're seeing the same thing with Devastator.
I'm definitely buying Takara's Devastator, but I'll probably end up with Hasbro's versions as well for posterity's sake. I'm pretty sure Hasbro engineered the big green guy, and I want to support them. It'll also be nice to have a set to keep in vehicle mode.

Yep, my collecting habits have kept me in debt for the last few years. What kind of adult am I?
The kind with lots of toys, if that means anything.

*looks around* Huh. We're in the same boat. You take an oar, I'll grab the other!
I thought TT's Devy would hurt Dr.Wu's plans, but I think there's still a lot of people thinking the same way as you. Wanting to find it in store for retail, rather than order the premium version online and THEN ship it. Also maybe they don't need TT's guns, or elbows, or paint apps. And maybe they just want upgrade kit #2 instead of 1 & 3. Y'never know. There's still plenty of pie for Dr.Wu to chew on.Autobot032 wrote:I'm going with Hasbro's Devastator.
