why do you keep comparing MP's to classics/generations?

apples and potatoes tsu.

It's no different than some fans constantly comparing 3rd party exspensive combiners to Hasbro's cheaply priced Combiners. ;)

Actually, it's 100% different, and price has nothing to do with it.

3rd Party combiners fit into a Classics-type collection. DX9 Mirage fits into an MP collection.

So... don't treat DX9 Mirage like a Classics figures, and don't treat 3rd Party Combiners as MPs.

Capiche?

Think some 3rd party combiners were made to be MP scaled,Priced, sculpted, articulated and engineered. Last I checked most of HasTak's combiners were smaller and were of lower quality with less articulation.

I'd expect this behavior from that other guy not you. Please lets all try to respect everyone here and their opinion, Don't insist one opinion is more correct and lets try to not order anyone around here.

Some view all of these 3rd party combiners as MP toys. exspecially the bigger scaled TFC combiners, bigger scaled Warbotrons and bigger scaled Predakings.

Some of the 3rd party combiners are MP styled toys like any limbs bots that are Voyager scale with Ultra-Leader scale team leaders.

Most of these 3rd party team members have more articulation than HasTak's combiners do. The sculpt and engineering on most 3rd party combiners has a higher budget and is higher quality than HasTak's combiners have.

Okay, just stop. This is not a Classics Mirage. They have no intention of it being compared to a figure that came out 7 years ago and cost $6.99 at the time. This isn't comparing apples to oranges, it's comparing a crayon drawing of an apple to an oil painting of a bowl of apples. They may both be the same thing objectively but one hangs on the fridge and the other on the wall. MP =/= Classics.

And bringing up Machine Wars Mirage? Really?

Now, someone wake me when there's a video review.

 It's the exact same un-fairness and no different than some constantly comparing 3rd party MP larger, higher quality, more articulation Combiners to HasTak's smaller, lower quality not-MP TF combiners.

 Why is it okay for others here to do this, but when I do it also, It's wrong and Unfair :???:

 When I compared DX9 MP Mirage to HasTak Classics Mirage. I was only doing what some here do When they compare 3rd party created MP scaled, articulated higher sculpted combiners to HasTak's much lower quality, smaller scaled, less articulated not-MP combiners.

It's got nothing to do with you personally, Tsu. I just want the thread to stay on topic. This one is about this particular version of a MP Mirage, not a Classics one and certainly not any Combiners. I was hoping there was an update about the product this thread is supposed to be focusing on and am getting really tired of being disappointed by page after page of derailments around here.

On topic, that shot of Spike sitting on the cockpit really shows exactly why that never should have happened. I can't wait to get this!

i dont really want to spark a night long debate here, but what the hell...

most 3P combiners are not MP scaled, they are classics/generations scaled. so comparing them to hastaks combiners is legitimate. though arguing quality is kinda silly since 3P has to jump through far fewer legal hoops than hastak in terms of toy safety (ie: small parts, sharp things, ect). so naturally to a collector, 3P will probably always have a leg up.

only 3P combiners that are MP scaled would be warbotron. and i wouldnt bring up any of the predakings, because he's arguably the biggest combiner already.

comparing DX9 invisible to the old classics figure is also silly. they differ in: scale, aesthetics, price, and so on. if you must, compare him to other 3P MP's or official MP's.

when MP10 came out, did a large part of the fandom say "finally i can get rid of my classics prime!"?

Just to keep the threads clean and on topic put all this mp debate in the thread i made :P

This is just Tsu all over like how he keeps comparing Apollyon and Hegemon....

On Mirage i might have to bite . I really like how the hood behind his head is like a hood i thought it was a horrible panal/flap thing like Gen Warpath .

all that said, i still cant deny its got a nice looking bot mode.

Sorry for the thread derailing. I'll try to be more careful next time.

Back on topic. Still think this DX9 Mirage is the best version of this character toy i've seen thus far within a 30 year span.

Could care less what line it belongs in. As I display toys on my display shelves randomly anyways.

All I care about is, I want this toy and it will be mine soon. ;)

Well, to take off your minds of sniping each other, take a look at the "real thing" that more or less inspired the 'bot back then in the 1980s

Wow, That looks leaps better than DX9's Mirage. Can't wait to see the robot pics. Having a toy I can ride it in car mode and walk in robot mode is great. If this cost under $115, it is so bought. But i'm not paying shipping fees. The guy needs to drive it down to me. Just kidding.

I don't remember if it was just you, or others who were stating that there is not enough detail. I'm curious if to know what more detailing you'd like to see. As someone else already said, and as the pictures of the real racers show, there isn't a lot of detail to be had. Race cars like this are pretty smooth in their surfaces, with most detailing having an aerodynamic purpose or is found in the paint job/sponsor stickers. Is there anything in particular you'd like to see more detailed?

Thanks! Now... Your mama wears combat boots!!! :-s Image

i admit, i never understood the "mama combat boots" insult

i suppose, i dont really have an answer cause youre right. its quite accurate aside from a few finer minor details. so i guess my gripes are mainly the chrome and the hollow forearms. and as nice as this looks, i cant help but feel a takara mirage will look better ;)

After looking at the vehicle that inspired this and an eventual MP (?) The race car is indeed simple in design. Product endorsement decals would make up for the details. In 'bot mode though.......ahh well, proof in the pie is in the eating.

I kinda want this guy as a stand-alone figure (unless Takara makes a better one). That vehicle mode is just lovely- it really reminds me of a die-cast car model. The "real" car is a lovely vehicle, and I think this does a very good job replicating it whilst keeping the robot mode looking good.

I do wish the shoulder rocket was a bit more conical though. It looks a tad generic here...

Wow. I love the G1 feel to the transformation. I like the look. I love my Classics Mirage, but if this thing was deluxe scale instead of MP, I might have a tough time saying no.

Still, I hope their Crasher repaint comes out. I will be happy to have one version of this mold...
