According to ComingSoon.net DreamWorks President of Production Adam Goodman recently spoke to the The Hollywood Reporter about a couple of upcoming projects, one of which was TF4. When asked about the involvement of the previous trilogy's Shia LaBeouf he had this to say:

Ehren Kruger is writing it for us, and we're starting to engage, but I can't say anything more.


Kruger wrote Transformers: Dark of the Moon and collaborated with Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Kruger doesn't bother me. I think he's a decent, and dare I say it, competent writer.
That quote is suspect, though. He was willing to let the cat out of the bag on Kruger, but stopped short of anything involving LaBeouf.

Part of me thinks they're not having him back, and if the public finds out, it could cost them with the audience. Part of me thinks they are having him back, and he's always been full of fecal matter, and he doesn't want them to let the cat out of the bag.

Either way, this is good news. Slightly odd and brow raising, but good news.

ehhhh I dunno, DotM didn't quite sit right well with me. It's no secret that I dislike Orci & Kurtzman so I don't want them back, but i'd be happy if Kruger didn't come back either.

I guess it makes sense to keep the creative team together at least.

They fare better as producers. Hawaii Five-0 and Prime are....prime examples of that.

I liked Dark of the Moon .. in concept.. which is what mostly what he created. Its just how it was presented that I didn't like at times.

I have no positive or negative feelings towards him being the writer (because hes shown that hes "decent") due to its going to be up to how its presented that makes it good or meh.
Hopefully Bay (or whomever is directing it )will come through and try to make a good movie and not just a summer action flick this time around.

This is terrible news, The TF movies thusfar have been horribly written garbage.

They need to get someone who understands Transformers to actually write them and direct them.

They need to lose Bay and his writer cronies for good, it's the only way we'll ever get a decent movie.
