Thanks for all the kind words everyone.

I can't say that I recommend the Drift kit. Overall it fairly sturdy, but at the same time most of the joints especially the slider mechanisms in the legs are quite fragile. In addition I had so much trouble getting paint to stick to certain areas I ended up commissioning a local guy who does customs to finish it for me. He wanted to know if he could do some improvements, so I told him to go crazy. He ended up completely rebuilding the leg transformation, replacing most of the styrene rods with with metal ones or screws. In the end I'm happy, but I wouldn't do it again.

Hey El Duque, last time I looked through your collection pics (which are impressive!), I remember a comment (may have been in the Pretender gallery discussion thread) you made about trying to obtain a set of pretenders. I'm working on them aswell and keep picking up incomplete lots from ebay. I have several incomplete duplicates now. If you are still looking for them, perhaps a trade can be worked out. Anyways, love the shelves!

Very nice. I have a rather massive collection myself, perhaps one of the biggest in the states or world. I have been collecting since the 80's. I have had EVERY u.s release Transformer packaged at one time. Same goes with Japanese and Euro only. About 10 years ago, I had to sell a lot of sealed items due to a break up with my ex.(I did keep the loose complete ones tho) Then last year it happened again. WOMEN ARE EVIL,LOL

So I no longer have the Dinoking gift set($2500), Galaxy Shuttle($1385), Deszaras($909), Road Ceaser($830), Browning($1025), etc. About 90% of my collection I have 2 of each figure 1 sealed and 1 loose complete. I Just couldnt afford to get 2 of every G1 toy. But some, lol.
It sucks because for all these years they have been stuck in boxes. Recently I have been trying to get out all of the newer stuff to put on shelves and I like your idea. I bought some shelving but, it looks like you went with longer wood then just cut it to size?? I might have to do that. Because not having them out, just seems like such a waste. But I also have 3 of my 4 rooms filled with boxed Transformers, and others like, GI Joe and MOTU. Anyway, just wanted to give ya a shout out and blather about mine some since I never frequent sites or forums or blogs,lol......l8trz

Biggest collection in the world? Wow man, that's pretty big talk. I'd like to see you back it up with some pics! :-B You should create your own collection thread.

Yea, I know its a big statement, Thats what happens when you have been collecting since the late 80's and rack up cc's (credit cards) worth of debt on comics, toys, etc, lol. It wouldnt be the largest collection in the world, I have seen some SIC collections. And I have seen Dealers who have just sheer amounts of stuff(although they usually have massive multiples of crap, so I do not count them. But for a single collecting person, it is MASSIVE, like I said they are in 3 of my 4 bedrooms, and also stuff is stored in my garage at this point. Its another reason I probably need to choose which to collect, MISB or loose complete because both is breaking me and I am running out of room quick with as much product as Hasbro keeps pumping out the last 5 years or so. (which is ridiculous I might add, all the store exclusives, its getting to be overkill).

I used to buy my Japanese Transformers in the mid 90's from a guy named Tony Preto, who attends Botcon every year. I also talk to Erik Sturdevant quite a bit (a big collector). My Ebay user ID is Cybershark-1 in case u want to see any of my auctions I put up when Im hard up for cash, lol. If I did upload a bunch of pics on my 10 yr old crappy cam. Most of what you would see is all packed away in boxes, So it does NOT look impressive at all. I was more of a MISB collector until about 3 years ago, when I started going back and trying to get everything loose complete as well.

That put me in the poor house, lol.

If you have any ideas on how I can try to upload some pics on here I would appreciate it. Although Im sure a better camera would probably help, as the pics I take on my old camera are often blurry when I try to get closer shots, Then again the further back I get, the smaller everything is, naturally. But its mainly the camera Im sure. I never have been much into visiting forums on a regular basis or being a very "technical" guy lol. Now my son would know but he lives out of state now.

Sounds like you may need to update your camera. You could probably get a decent camera for about 100 bucks (probably cheaper). Camera technology is constantly progressing, and older models (which are actually still REALLY good) get sold for next to nothing. I bought a 400 dollar camera last year which is now being sold at Best Buy for 150 dollars! Still, if you have a decent phone, that should be enough to take some pretty decent pics as long as there's plenty of light (sunlight would be best). My phone's camera is pretty good with just 4.5 megapixels.

Just sign up for a free image hosting site, I use www.photobucket.com. You upload your photos there and paste them into a discussion reply. Go into the forums and start a new discussion about your collection. Open a separate tab and go into your photobucket albums and use the link for each picture in your forums reply box. I would love to see your collection as I'm sure many would. It sounds quite impressive. This discussion should really be about El_Duque's collection and his OH-SO-SWEET display space.

Still loving those dark wood massive shelves buddy. If they ever get crowded, you can just pack up any G1's you don't have room for and ship 'em down to me!
