Episode 7 Discussion (G1 Arcee!)

This show rocks, it's like season 5 of G1. I personally thought the show was going to suck, but it gets better and better.

So who was surprised by G1 Arcee? And Lockdown is crazy. I also laughed when Optimus said t the guy about car insurance.

Very cool so far.

Lockdown is pretty sweet! But the biggest surprise...in Ratchet's history we get to see ARCEE! And of course, it's Susan Blu!

Love how Ratchet goes Star Trek and says, "I'm a Medic bot not a Field General." Freakin' hilarious.

Blitzwing makes the cameo, as does 'squidburgers' from Spongebob.

Nice..

Does anyone see "Uncle LockDown" towards the end of this series?

Otherwise, I like this episode, BBs novilty horn was funny, and Ratchet's oppinion of an auto parts store, is the type of thisng that AEC was realy missing.

Writing wise this show is doing very well by me.

The Humans were near nonexistant in this episode and again, that realy helps this show with the way they draw them.

Blitzwing, was always one of my favorite figures, and I don't like what they're doing to him. Arcee on the otherhand was hugably cute(awww).

LockDown, I like bounty hunters so Alright, I like how his faction symbol is blacked out. I'm still gonna skip the toy though. It realy doesn't appeal to me, but I tell you it would IF it was actualy upgradable. But since Hasbro normaly doesn't do acessories like battle packs  , I know it isn't going to happen.

I still can't believe how different this show is from what I was expecting. This episode was very good, one of the best so far. The voice work is amazing. I also like the running gag that BB always ends up doing what Ratchet thinks is stupid or unnatural. Lockdown was a really neat character, and I liked the whole trophy taking thing. Neato!

not a bad episode at all. by far better than everything else i've seen with the show so far. This one actually had a good internal character conflict, because it actually helped develop Ratchet as a character, not like the other stupid ones we had with Bumblebee complaining about short jokes and Bulkhead trying to be ninja-like. Thats just **** in my opinion. Lotsa decep facetime in this ep, which always helps. Overall, it was pretty good. Not enough to dig itself out of the hole of loating its dug for me with the other episodes, but a start.

Don't tell me no one else notices the Death's Head influence in Lockdown. I mean come on, the color scheme, the skull face, the interchangable weapon arms, the spikes, the cockiness...

Def the best episode of the series so far. Great to see some development for Ratchet and also great to see Prowl's leadership abilities taking shape.

I've never been a fan of Arcee but you have to love another nod to G1, especially with Blu doing the voice.

This is the first episode of the series I’ve seen, wasn’t as bad as I thought, still pretty bad though.

First, my biggest complaint, the animation. When I watch anime and cartoons one thing I look for is good animation, this I did not see in animated. The entire episode had lots of pausing and was very slow looking, nothing was spectacular and mediocre at best.

Second, the characters. This is the first TF series where I hated Optimus, in fact, I hated most of the cast except for Ratchet and Prowl. I didn’t like the feel of boy scout Prime one bit, Bumblebee was annoying and agonizing to see one of my favorite characters from G1 in this form. Bulkhead seemed like an overweight retard rather than a robot.

Ratchet I liked a wee bit since he had a fairly interesting back-story, I’ve always been a fan of the character and that didn’t change much in this series. Prowl didn’t get much screen time in this episode so it was hard for me to judge the character, he was kind of “cool” in some since.

And third, the story. This episode had a great story, liked seeing Ratchet fighting back on Cybertron and it was fast enough to keep me watching through the adds at least. However, the overall premise of the show fails to entertain me.

Finally, Animated isn’t much more than what I expected, while it wasn’t quite as bad as I first thought, it was still pretty dumb.

This was our first view somewhat of Cybertron, right?

I can understand the gripes about the animation itself, aside from the designs. Yeah, it's cheap. Oh well. The story and the characters are what really matters to me. But everyone has different standards for what they expect and I understand each and every complaint. But for a show that was promising to be Fisher Price Transformers, I'm impressed on how intelligent it can be.

I've been really enjoying the show so far and I was impressed with the amount of depth we got to see in Ratchet. Never cared for the character at first but now I actually like him.

I can see why Archer like Lockdown, very cool character. Hope the release to DVD is a little more uniform than past efforts and we get episodes in order.

Total 180 on what I initially thought about the series, even the animation is growing on me, but its the writing and story that makes a world of difference.

I just finished watching this one and I really enjoyed it. So far the only Transformer I don't like is Bulkhead. All the other Autobots are interesting in their own way. I would like to see Prime act more like a leader though. I understand that he is inexperienced at this point, but let him show some potential. Hopefully they can continue making episodes like this and try to stay away from stories like Total Meltdown.

This was the best episode so far.

It actually had character development. We know now something about Ratchet other than him being crotchety.

This Optimus Prime is just horrid. He is worse than G-1 Rodimus. This Prime doesnt warrant a Prime designation.

He had better go under a 180 degree transformation.

Lastly, this animation style isnt growing on me. It is just flat out bad.

I loved this episode. I would have to say it is the best so far. Even better than the Dinobot episode.

While I am fine with the animation, I can see how in this episode it would have been beneficial to have a high quality and attention to detail. Like when we see Lockdown in is ship and he's desiding what to replace his arm with, or when we get a brief look at his trophy case. That would have been the perfect spot to put some "pieces" of G1, or other shows in. Like there definately should have been a piece of Waspinator in that trophy case, if only it wasn't just a bunch of silhouettes.

Even so the animation is OK. I still don't have to agree with it. But I can see why Hasbro wanted to go in this direction.

Wow, this is how I feel a TF episode should be - lots of action and little to no humans. Wasn't a fan of Arcee in G1, but if she's gonna turn up in other episodes she might get the chance to grow on me.

One thing I forgot to mention early is that I HATE Lockdown. I like him, but I hate him. I hate him for hurting Arcee, but that makes him a good character. I've almost never seen a villian just so cruel for no reason. Sure Megatron has killed multiple Autobots in the original movie, but that was war.

And though she may not be G1 Arcee, I loved G1 Arcee. And she is voiced by the same actress and looks the same. So to me, she sort of is the same. Just like when Prime died in the opening special. It's not G1 Prime. I have no connection to this character. But it's still Optimus Prime. It was sad, even though I knew he was gonna be revived in 2 seconds. It tugged on the heart stings a little.

So back to my point. What happened to Arcee was worse than death. She had zero memory. She was as if she just rolled off the assembly line. She lost all her experiences. Her happy memories. Her past. Her identity. She was basicly an inch from retardation. It seems extreamely cruel to me. So now I HATE Lockdown!

Which like I said is a good thing. I now feel a connection to the character. And he's well developed. Everytime I see him I hope he gets blown to slag.

Firstly: I want a Cybertron Ratchet figure!

Secondly: anyone who know says this show is purely for the kiddies needs to have a rethink.

Ratchet is Awesomesauce, best character of the lot.

Lockdown is impressive, but he is going to fall into the usual cartoon villain ploy, super strong on first appearance, easily defeated in subsequent appearances, I guess the loss of the EMP will be somewhat attributed to it.

Prowl is quite the fighter, shows Prime up in almost every battle.

Nice cameo from Blitzwing too.
Awesomesauce; Use it, you know you want to.
